My kids are with their dad and won't be back until tomorrow afternoon. Bob and Bethany went out of town to visit his mom. What should I do with myself this evening?

Had I known you could have come with me to the formal dinner and concert tonight! I heard the most marvelous soprano. Remember the name Rayanne Gonzalez... she will make it big one day.

Embassy Suites convention center. We have a long list. On Sunday we have a west wing tour, then we have the capitol tour at some point, want to do some kind of tourmobile thing so we can see the monuments and some of the sights, spy museum, smithsonian, bureau of engraving and printing, national cemetary, mount vernon and that might be about it. We are also going to see a Nationals/Rangers game that Friday night. I'm going to be exhausted, but I can't wait to show my boys all the wonderful things I've enjoyed over the years.

Anyone have suggestions for kid friendly restaurants? The only restaurant that is a must for me is Old Ebbitt.

I am betting I will miss you yet again, Marci! Sounds like you are going to be busy and any breaks in that schedule will probably occur after I go back to work. Sounds like an awesome time. The girls and I really enjoyed The Spy Museum, by the way!

Chanon I can't get the link for the July hours that you posted a couple of days ago to work :confused3 The others work fine for me. Could you post again pretty please :worship:

The Convention was a wonderful success. I was able to reconnect with lots of old friends from around our great Commonwealth and hear some spectacular music. The 150 certificates of merit I provided for our Clubs were well received and all financial matters that I am responsible for were approved. Overall, a great way to spend 60% of this week's vacation. :)

Morning everyone! I got up a tid bit earlier then needed, so I am killing time here. I do need to throw some clothing on and leave. So have a great day everyone. I am dragging already and have a long day in front of me.

Robyn prayers for the little girl & her family!

Theresa sorry to hear your wrist is still bothering you.

Elin glad yesterday was a success!

Deb :wizard: that work picks up for you!

Good Morning DDA:cool2:

Gonna be a hot day here. In the high 90's.

I am up this early to say bye to Hal. He is headed down to the Outer Banks. The only good thing about him leaving earlier than me is I have a couple of nights snore free!!!! :lmao: :lmao:

I will leave Wednesday and drive down then.

He did not get me an anniversary card but told me I can get a GPS system.:cool1:

Which one does everyone have and what do you like about it?

Thank you.

I best run out and buy some vanilla ice cream then. ;)

The two of you would get along famously! :thumbsup2

:faint:

I don't do horror houses anyway, besides they have clowns. :scared1: :sad1: :scared: :scared1:

Those are some PRICEY tickets! :scared1:
Several years ago we went to the Six Flags Halloween thing with the Uncles and a friend of theirs from Germany. The haunted houses were an extra $10 admission to each one, or I think you could buy a pass that was good for all of them. But the minimum age was like 13 or 14 so we waited outside with DS. Well, the Uncles and their friend went in one and a vampire thing jumped out at the friend. He whipped off his baseball cap and whapped the vampire, so they kicked him out of the haunted house and told him he was lucky they didn't eject him from the park! I don't like things that pop out at me so I was glad I ddin't go in with them!

OMG Prayers for that family. I cannot imagine one of my kids not coming home

Robyn, I hope the little girl has been found! How scary!

Work was slow yet again. I cannot believe that Friday nights are so slow now. I wonder if I should start looking for a new job?

I came home to more laundry. Will it ever end?

Sorry things at work are slow. We have stopped going out for dinner every Friday night, and we have cut back on fast food.
No, the laundry is evil and it will never end.

me too...I am hoping that as it has more freedom it will. Thanks!!

More :wizard: for your wrist!

I'm glad it went well! :)

Marci - Sounds like you guys will be very busy! I hope the boys enjoy all of the different sights!

Robyn-I will keep that family in my prayers...we had Cassidy not show up once...but it was easily rectified

Terry-Happy Anniversary!!

Janet-your house is beautiful:goodvibes

Deb-You have been so busy...I am sorry work is so slow.

Heidi-the last of my great uncles passed 2 nights ago...it kind of feels like the end of an era. Congrats on the new baby in the family

Loved all the kiddo pictures the last couple of days:goodvibes

Elizabeth-I am glad your mother's surgery has been scheduled and you will be able to go out there to help.

I have an unsplinted hand again....it hurts like the dickens still:headache:

For those I have missed...I didn't do it intentionally and  and :wizard: all around.

Theresa, thanks for the recap that I can ditto! I am sorry that your wrist is still hurting. :wizard:

I've watched the news last night and this morning and I cannot find anything out. I sure hope that she was found safe and sound. 3 weekends ago there was a 1st grader that went missing on a Saturday afternoon. There were helicopters everywhere as well as the police and the water search and rescue looking for him. He was found safe and sound hiding in the bushes in the front of his house. I pray that it's something similar.

Yes -- I'm so disappointed about the American History. It's been closed my last couple of trips. I think a small portion of some of the stuff is in the Air and Space. My SIL is doing the Holocaust with her two oldest, and I was glad I did it, but I'm not taking my boys. I think that will be on our next trip. We don't have a car -- we'll take the metro, then a bus. The congressman's intern in charge of tours said it was an easy trip. I hope they're right.

Any other places I'm forgetting that you think we should do? If we can't work out the duck tour, any interest in going to be baseball game?
My kids will be with their dad that night, so I'd have to say no, but thanks for asking. Sounds like you've got it all covered. If I think of anything else I'll let you know.

I got a call from my girlfriend this evening that one of the little girls from the other 2nd grade class didn't make it home this afternoon. We have not heard any updates as to if she has been found as of yet. If you all could spare some good thoughts please send them this way. I don't think Emma knows the girl very well but she does know her. I haven't told her anything as of yet. I am hoping the news will have something to report.

I am off to bed. Have a great night. See you on the flipside!
Oh how scary. I hope there is an update with a good outcome as I read further. :wizard:

If you haven't heard anything 'official' yet, is it possible it could be only rumor? I hope so!
