I am trying to get an idea of the food to server at Dawn's 40th birthday party. Yes I like to plan ahead.
Her birthday is December 24th, (of course it will be before the actual date) so we will need hot food.

So far I have...
Mac & Cheese
Baked Ziti
Tater-Tot Casserole
BBQ Chicken
What else would your serve? there will be about 26 people.

I would plan for some kind of vegetable or salad.

Also what do you think about a small veggie tray? and do you have a recipe for chicken fried rice, or should I just order some from a Chinese restaurant?

We just watched Star Wars Episode 2. We have seen 4,5,6,1 & 2..(in that order) just have to see #3 now. The kids love SW & know every character. I never saw Star Wars when I was a kid..only saw the 1977 version a month or so ago. Now we are all big fans.

I thought I'd share a few pics of Lucy. My cousin took them yesterday when they were here.

Today was downright exhausting. I don't know how Emma and Eric are still standing. The entire soccer game was played in a cold downpour. Emma played her heart out and made a break and ran the ball from the back field all the way to the goal. She managed to get a shot but it didn't go in. She plays fullback so she normally never goes past half field. It was so exciting to see her play like that, she is starting to put to use the skills she has while playing in the moment. The game ended up in a tie 1-1 so we have definitely improved overall since the beginning of the season.

After the game we headed straight to the party and stayed there til for about an hour. The party was outside under tents and the last thing any of us wanted to do was be outside any longer.

The girls are in bed after a lovely dinner of cereal! Eric is fixing us a quick bite and then I am headed upstairs to watch Desperate Housewives.

I hope everyone is having a lovely Sunday. I haven't gone back to catch up but will do that tomorrow. In the meantime, 's and to all.

You can tell your age! Anyone from that era would never admit to not seeing Star Wars. It was the movie of the decade for us. I was a Junior in High School when it came out. It was amazing! For those younger, it might not seem like much in the special effects area but it was truly unbelievable for those of us who experienced it when it first came out.

Elizabeth (or Kristine) - In reading the cake thread board, I just get more and more confused. From the sounds of it, if I'm eating at a signature restaurant, best bet to do is to call the restaurant directly for a custom cake? If I want a cake in our room, I call that resort's bakery for a custom cake? They confuse me over there on that thread.

There seems to be a central number now that handles cake orders...I think the number is on the 1st page of that thread.

For us small veggie trays don't go well. Your group may be totally different. I'll look for the chicken fried rice recipe. My Grandma had a good one.

Robyn I'm glad that soccer is getting better. The boys also played in the rain today It was cold too.

Isn't it funny how kids find new faces to share. Lucy's newest is precious.

I saw Star Wars in the theater when I was 7. Now we own 5 of the 6 episodes on DVD, but I don't ever watch them. DH and DS will watch if any of the episodes comes on TV, which drives me nutty. We OWN THE DVDs!

They confuse me, too. That's why I sent an e-mail to IPO and made it their problem, then I signed DH's name to the e-mail!
