DDA Chapter 7

A great place for Improv in the Orlando area is SAK comedy Lab. Wayne Brady got his start in comedy there, as well as several other famous people. They have great classes, and shows with all levels of performers. Most of the shows are very family friendly. If they start getting inappropriate they must wear the SCUM box on their head. It is in downtown Orlando.

It is tons of fun and I highly recommend it. I know it is not Disney but still tons of fun for the whole family.

Thanks, Becky! We aren't going to leave Disney property this time, but I'll keep it in mind! I never knew it was OK for anyone under 21 to be anywhere in Pleasure Island, so we thought we would check it out. :)

Well, I was right. About midnight there were some extremely loud cracks of thunder, the kind you here when lightening hits something. Both kids ended up in my room, frightened. Then around 3AM they suspect what was a tornado tore through a subdivision about 5 or 6 miles from here. I haven't heard of any injuries but homes were destroyed and they have 50-60 people in shelter at the middle school, until other arrangements can be made.

Yikes!! Glad you ae safe!

Tia - I'm glad the meeting went well last night! PM me if you have any specific questions about wording in your agreement, etc. :)
I'm curious - did you ask if you could speak to the girl who is leaving? The exiting nanny is usually a VERY good source of info. Of course she has only been there a short time, so maybe she wouldn't be that helpful.

Have a good Friday, everyone! :)

Have you downloaded Epcot background music for your MP3 player? I love it... probably my favorite music to listen to.

Yup! I think it's my favorite stuff on there as well. I really want to get a player where I can search the songs easily so that I can pull it up readily. Right now I just have something a step above a shuffle - has a titles display, but can't really search it easily.

Thanks! I think I'm good with the agreement. It looks pretty much like ones I was looking at online. I didn't think about talking to the other girl, though my sister does from time to time anyway (goes to same church).

I love  my Microsoft Zune. It is easy to put additional songs on it. You can search it many different ways and you can create multiple playlists.

Tammi & Elin,
I am so glad you are all o.k. I saw the weather & storm damage this morning & when I heard the location I was hoping it was not near you. The damage looks terrible. It's amazing what nature can do.

Debbie,
That is more than one person can stand. She must be very strong. I will keep her in my prayers.

Tia,
Good luck!

Today I am home cleaning & organizing. The kids have playdates this afternoon so I have to get the house in order. Problem is I have no get up & go to get started.:confused3

 I'm so glad that you and the kids are ok. The weather seems to get more and more ravenous each year

I need to get a move on here too. I am headed to Richmond to bring a load home from college. Bob and I will go back tomorrow morning and bring the rest of the stuff home (along with Kristin). I am hoping the rains hold off while we need to load things into the car. Talk to you all later!

 Good luck with that. Have a safe couple of trips

I'd love a playlist feature! I want to set one up for when I'm walking and exercising and then have another for just anytime. I'll just be building up some momentum when Soarin' music comes on and that's just too slow to keep up the pace. I'll have to look at the Zunes. I've got my DSR incentive money building up to buy something for myself. Maybe that's what I'll get!

I need to get things done around here today. The boys have their very first Lacrosse game at 5:30 PM. Of course I had the offer to work tonight and I rarely get offered weekend shifts, but I turned it down to watch the boys. Later last night my boss pulled me aside and said he was moving me from bussing on Saturday night to waitstaff. That will be a huge night as many people go out for Mother's Day on Saturday night. I also have a double on Sunday so hopefully this will be a big money weekend and contribute to our trip fund :wizard: Now if the rain holds off for the games it will be a great weekend.

Question for all you Grand Gathering Experts. We are doing the GG fireworks cruise on the 4th. They have "snacks" available before we depart. For some reason I thought dessert, but they are now saying "snacks" Any idea what they will be serving?

Thanks

it's all prepackaged stuff:

bags of:

chips
pretzels
pop corn

cotton candy
rice krispy treats

water
soda

this is all I can remember off the top of my head

Tammi - Do you have St. Bernard Sports near you? It's a ski shop. I just found those North Face shorts for $5! :scared1: They only had one pair in a Large, but I bought them. Maybe DS can wear them to college. :rolleyes1
I also bought 2 pairs of pants (size Large) with the "zip off" legs for $10 each. Without the legs they are basically the same as the shorts! The girl was so sweet - she called the other 2 TX locations for me to see if she could find any others and have them shipped, but neither store had them. :guilty:
That shop has lots of cool clothes for kids, but their regular prices are pretty high so I don't go in there very often.

That's pretty much what I remember as well. It used to be dessert but they changed it shortly before our DDA trip in December 2006 from what I have read.

Do you have David Arkenstone or do you have specific Epcot music? If the latter... where did you get it?

Thanks, Anne Marie. It looks pretty bad, that's for sure!

I think it used to be pastries and other desserts...

Thanks, Deb. It went very well this morning. I was in and our of the dorm in an hour with a full load! And the sun was shining the entire time. After Kristin had her "exit interview" we went to lunch and by the time I dropped her off at the dorm again it had started to rain once more. Let's hope tomorrow goes as easily!
