Elizabeth,
Sorry about your store.

Thanks! I will really miss the one asst. mgr. from my store, but other than that I can drive to one of the other stores. Momboss seemed perfectly fine with Princess and I taking a little road trip now and then.

Speaking of Princess princess: , I need to go get her from school!

How cool is THAT? Glad to see you popping in for a bit! :goodvibes

I will tell you, I don't know if there will be any left by the time the prices get good! But if there are I will share with you. The problem right now is that the least expensive pins are $5.50. The rest are $9.50. That's for a single pin. They have one set of 3 but the pins are HUGE. Like 3" around. They could almost double as dinner plates! My goal is to get some of the SMALL pins that are $5.50 when they go 50% off. Our trader bags weigh close to 2 lbs. each, so there is no way I am buying any big, heavy pins.
Oh, and the stores that are closing will NOT honor the 15% AP discount, so I must plot the use of my ONE 15% off coupon carefully!

I learned today at work that the 15% AP discount is temporary. We have instructions saying it goes thru early July & then it ends.

Beth, I just checked and yup very high here too. I try not to take anything if I don't have to (just don't like taking medicine) but I am going now to take a sinus pill.

I don't like to take medicine much either (except ibuprofen...that stuff can feel like a lifesaver sometimes). I do use Patanol in my eyes when things are bad so that I do feel like scratching them out of my head.

It is beautiful out today, and I'd love to have the windows open, but I'm keeping the house closed up to keep as much tree pollen outside as I can.

I'm dittoing you Anne Marie for lack of time. I know there is more that I missed. We spent yesterday at Emma's game then my in-laws took Em and Mo home with them. Eric came home and worked around the yard. Lucy and I went shopping for deck planters. We came home and grabbed Gail and then went flower shopping. I hope to get them planted tomorrow. We had dinner and then picked up the girls. As we were getting them into bed I had what I am pretty sure was a gallbladder attack. I know I have gallstones, they found them when they did Lucy's ultrasound. I guess if they keep coming I will need to schedule surgery, which obviously I am not looking forward too!

I will have to finish catching up later this afternoon. My aunt is coming here to watch the boys while Molly, Lucy and I meet 2 of my girlfriends and their DD's for a play date.

Have a great day!

pixiedust: that you don't need surgery. My gallstones and I lived together quite happily for at least 14 years, but they finally demanded to be removed (along with my poor, inflamed gallbladder).

So we're headed to the hospital today for Phil's endoscopy. Hopefully they can confirm a (minor) ulcer and since the medicine is helping already we'll be on the way to healing without anything further. He's feeling better too so that's good. The weakness seems to be subsiding. Now if he can just make it through work (or partial day as I'll pick him up at 1pm) without having eaten since his midnight cutoff.

pixiedust: that Phil's endoscopy goes well.

The Mickey Monitor that I got for passholders says June 30 is the end of the AP discount.

I was just reading through all the "How well do you know me" e-mails. It was interesting to see how many of us wanted to be pediatricans and how many picked their 40th birthday as the most memorable. What a fun e-mail!

Theresa, I was thinking of you, because a woman from Littleton, CO called for preschool information the other day. They are moving to our area, and she was happy to find a Lutheran preschool.

I have decided against DDP for our surprise trip. Laura eats so little and really does better on several small meals instead of two big ones. Also, we aren't planning TS for every day. I calculated it out, and we'll be better off OOP this trip.

I'm still trying to decide if I want to add the water park option. I think I probably will, because that way we could do two shorter days at water parks. It would be cheaper to pay for just one day than to have it added to the ticket, but convenience is worth something, too.

I had a bunch of pictures from Laura's last birthday trip printed. I am going to put them together in a book and reveal the surprise trip at the end. I'm still not sure when I'm going to give it to her.

I need to go and send some pictures of our Niagara Falls trip to print so that I can make something up for my mother for Mother's Day.

It was really only going to be beneficial to me if I could use it on top of the liquidation discounts. I rarely buy anything in the store, I mostly just add to my gift card. I will probably just go twice a month to one of the remaining stores to add to my card after my store closes.

And really, I don't have THAT much more that needs to go on a gift card. My hotel & DDP balance will go on my Disney Visa so we get the reward $$, and most of the rest of what I need for the trip needs to be in cash for tips, cab fare, pet sitter, airport parking, etc. I do want to continue on with a gift card or Disney Dollars (which are already gone from my store) for DS because he can't seem to save for WDW if he has "real" money.

Ok, I am sick of laundry! Anyone care to do a mini-recap from last week, please?

I have several AP questions since I upgraded to one on this trip. Does the Mickey Monitor come in the mail or email? How do you add your email for notices? Any tips? How do you check for rooms available with the AP discount?

really? is your ticker wrong?

wow... we have better make decisions about our December trip too!
Not my ADRs, my resort ressie. I am at my 7 mo. window to book outside my home resort. Sorry, didn't mean to alarm you.

I'm still around...

We leave on May 31.

Been unusually busy lately....I hadn't had a closing in months...now I have several all back to back...each one is a little crazier than the previous one.

I am beginning to think that I am preparing for the second coming of Christ as this trip is taking on a life of it's own. For the first time ever...I am thinking of renting a car while there :scared1: It seems like a strange concept for me....our cost for using the town-car service: (back and forth to the airport, the cruise, sea world & universal, etc.) is $450...to have an SUV the whole time is $442....so it would seem to make sense.

Other than that, I hosted Bill's side of the family for dinner this past weekend...I am still cleaning up from the festivities. Here's a pic...

Hang in there everyone...good thoughts to those in need....

What a nice looking family. That blondy in the middle reminds me of Alyssa.

I have several AP questions since I upgraded to one on this trip. Does the Mickey Monitor come in the mail or email? How do you add your email for notices? Any tips? How do you check for rooms available with the AP discount?

Mickey Monitor comes by snail mail IF you are lucky. Last year we weren't getting them, so I called and complained. That seemed to fix it. Elin calls and complains and they don't send them to her.
You can read the back issues online, but if there is any sort of special coupon (for lithographs or whatever) then it is usually only in the hard copy.
Once you get on the AP page (which has been VERY crotchety lately) you click "special offers" and search for a room exactly like you would on the main page. When the room comes up it will say "AP Holder room only rate" or something to that effect.
The e-mail thing is tricky, too, because it kicks you out of the Passholder area to edit your e-mail. Or it used to. I get the Passholder e-mails but I am not sure why triggered that. I think it was because I put the e-mail address on the form I filled out to buy the AP.

I've got to scoot. Nicholas has another play-off game tonight at 5:30 and then our last religion class at 6:30. They are just having parties for their last classes, which is good because we are going to be late. TTYL.

Kristine - Did Jackie cut her hair? It looks different. Very nice photo!

My hair only looks marginally weird. But since it is very humid today I can pretty much bet that it will look like this at WDW. The back looks fine, but the front is kind of funny. It is really too short to tuck it behind my ears now, which is a problem. I guess I can use my sunglasses as a headband since I hate to wear them on my face. :rolleyes1

I read that too in the MM. We were given the "early July" info at work.

Ok, I must have missed your announcement while I was away. When are you guys going to Disney????

Kristine,
Glad work is going well! Nice photo of the family.

I can't type too loudly, because Laura is in the room with me. :rotfl:

Just Laura, Miles, and I are going to WDW August 13-23! We are staying at the Pop Century. Laura is unhappy, because at one point I thought going out West wasn't going to work, so I brought up WDW. Then we figured out the West trip and said no Disney. I am going to surprise her with a birthday trip after all. She is going to miss the first week of cross country practice, but I think it will be ok. I am thinking that I won't tell Miles until we go to the airport. I need a little more input from Laura (and couldn't possibly pack for her), so I will tell her soon. I wanted to tell her on my birthday when we go to MA for her synchro meet, but now a friend wants to share the driving and room for that weekend, so we won't be alone.

Denise,
How did you like the Beach Club?
We liked it, and the kids loved SAB. But we all missed being on the monorail. I would do a split stay there again, but probably the BC first and the monorail last.
