DDA Chapter 7

In conclusion

- Loved the room, location, pool, & entertainment at the Boardwalk.
- BWI CM's not very Disney-ish. We had 2 negative experiences with CM's beside the one I mentioned.
- The parks were the most crowded we have encountered however with planning we were able to everything we wanted with very little wait. I am still amazed how many people wait in line for over an hour & never use FP. Boggles the mind.
- Weather was beautiful. What a shock to come home..it was in the 40's here.
- We did not have the DDP & we missed it. I think we spent more without it (even with DDE) than we would have if we got the dining plan
- The cruise was worth every single penny & I would love to do it again someday.
-If we do a cruise again, book WDW first & the cruise after so we are nice & relaxed when we come home.

Awesome trip....thank you God for all our blessings!
And thanks to all of you reading along.
So you think this time of year was more crowded than August? That gives me hope!

I think with having littles ones who qualify for the kids meal pricing, the DDP is the way to go, because it is so cheap for them. Why did you opt not to get it this time? Just curious, because we were considering not getting it for August, but I think we would pay more in the long run, too.

Was your cruise 3 or 4 nights, and did you think it was long enough?

Yes, I think it was just a bit more crowded this trip than in August, However since it wasn't as hot, I found people to be less cranky on lines & more friendly. Could be attributed to the weather or not but thats our observation. We decided not to get the DDP since we were coming off the cruise & figured we wouldn't be eating as much..not so. I thought we would save money with just the DDE card. Also Katie still eats off the kids menu & we end up paying for her adult meal which she doesn't eat. So i thought we would save but we didn't. Now with my new discount (haven't gotten all the info yet) but if I get a discount on the room as I CM I can't get the DDP)
I think for your gang the DDP is the way to go.

Was your cruise 3 or 4 nights, and did you think it was long enough?
It was 4 nights & no not nearly enough time. It was a nice trip since we were first time cruisers but now I would want to go at least 7 days if I can swing it.

I guess I best take a cue from Janet and Elizabeth and get myself to the grocery store. I have been just laying around since my parents left, aside from doing 3 loads of laundry.

Anne Marie-i loved all of your pictures and the trip report! great job :)

Ive been cleaningl ike crazy--so much for relaxing! But so far ive thrown away two big black garbage bags of stuff from my room--and my room wasnt really messy, im just finding alot i dont need! Im glad im doing this now so i can just dust, vacuum, and change my sheets again before the trip instead of a huge cleaning!

Thank you!

Feels good to get rid of stuff when you do a big cleaning...

I just today finished the wash that was left from the trip. There were so many clothes!!!! I emptied all the suitcases & put them away. Now my house looks normal again.

I have checked in & have my boarding pass! :woohoo:

Wonderful trip report Anne Marie, thank you so much for sharing with us!

Sending lot's of  & :wizard: to Colby! Hope he is feeling better soon

I'm not caught up and have things I need to get done, but I thought I'd give you an update on Colby. I was correct, he has hand, foot and mouth disease. It is a coxsackie virus. It should pass on it's own in about a week. It could get worse between now and then, but so far he isn't at all uncomfortable. He is napping now though :goodvibes

It's always nice to get rid of things you no longer need or use, not one of my favorite jobs though lol

I told Gary the other day that I do not think I have anything left now that we don't need or use, really amazing :rotfl:

I took my last load to Goodwill yesterday :thumbsup2

So today has been a long day. I was up at 4 something am, to go to run the pancake breakfast for Relay. We also had flower delivery for Relay. I got home around 2 something from that and have been lazy ever since. Tomorrow it is back to work. What happened to my weekend??

I probably should have taken a nap. If I do so now I will probably never sleep tonight.

One of these days I need to clean and get rid of stuff.

Hope you all had a great day:)

I have my suitcase almost packed & it seems to be empty. I must be forgetting something :confused3 :rotfl:

Anne Marie I think I forgot to say that I would love to view your pictures!

April 24 Good bye Wonder!

After a mad dash to get the bags outside by 11pm we got the kids & ourselves to bed after midnight. I just could not sleep this night. we had some rough seas heading back to the port. The water was being splashed out of the pool (as some a cm told us at breakfast) The hangers on the closet were banging into each other & the cabin was swaying & creaking.

We were up by 5:30am, made sure we left nothing behind & made our way to BBB for our last breakfast aboard the Wonder. By 7:30am we were headed off the ship. The Captain was there to say Goodbye.

We were all very sad to leave the ship but now my mind was on WDW. We got our bags & were escorted to a small van to take us & another family to the Boardwalk. I thought this was nice since we didn't have to take the DCL bus, however that feeling changed when the older gentleman driving us seemed to have fallen asleep & stopped about 1 foot short behind another car & then swirved into the next lane almost hitting another car. 1 split second later & we would have been at the very least making a hospital visit. Thankfully all was ok & the other family told him off so we didn't have too.

Ok back to the fun part....we arrive at the Boardwalk Inn around 9am. We check in & they take our bags. Obviously the room is not ready so we head to Epcot.

We got to ride Soarin, Test Track, Spaceship Earth (my kids loved this), & play in Innoventions. Dinner was at Beirgarten (Dana's favorite).

we went back to the BWI to settle in for the night. They gave us a room that was so far from the lobby I think we were in another state.:lmao: When we got to the room, I pulled out my lysol wipes & wiped down the tub & my wipe was all gray. The room was dusty :scared1: I looked out the balcony & saw 2 huge satelite dishes & a busy roadway behind France. Well I could handle the view but not that long walk or the dirty room so I went to the front desk & asked if we could have another room. The Cm who helped me apologized & was looking for another room, but this other CM came over & said "someone has to get that room you know". I said I understand that but for the $ I was paying it was not acceptable. He then said "well I cannot reduce your room rate because of the view" Now I was regretting switching from Pop to BWI and I was missing my Beach Club. The helpful CM gave me another room on the first floor close to the elevator. I went back to the room & told Dana what happened. Well he went down & had some "words" with the CM who was not so friendly & it really put him off to the whole place. It was now past 9pm & we had been up since 5:30am & were in no mood for this. So we get to our new room which was lovely. It had a patio facing a courtyard, & you could even see the top of Illuminations. Now if they had just given us this room before we would have started off on a good note. We showered & went to bed cranky.
Our view.

Our complaints about BW was the walk to the room as we were far out also. We didn't like that we had to park so far away either. I like to park right in front of my room. Otherwise we loved it.

Saturday April 26
We got up late (I set the clock for 6:30am) but we got up closer to 8ish..Made our way to AK around 10am. Surprising it was not too bad. There were lots of crowds but we got FP for Safari & EE with no problem. We hadn't eaten breakfast so we had an early lunch at 11am at Pizzafari. The kids had pizzas & Dana & I had the chicken parm sandwich & the chicken salad. The food there is always good. We saw FOLTK & then ran right over to Nemo & got seats right up front for that. Whew! We LOVE the Nemo show!

The kids loved the slide & went on over & over until it closed at 8pm...we still stayed & swam but it was starting to get chilly. We decided to get over to Beaches & Cream for some dessert before the rush from Illuminations..we got there just before 9pm. They told us it was an hour wait so we went to the arcade & they called us in about 20 minutes. We were seated at the counter which was fun to watch them make the kitchen sink.

(And no, I couldn't finish it!:) )

After some time in the arcade, we waddled back to our room, showered, & feel asleep.

So where's your kitchen sink :rotfl: Chris is looking forward to doing the challenge again...though he swore last year he wouldn't do it again

I think the DDP is a great deal if you are only paying childrens prices for the kids. We now have 2 kids considered adults and they will only eat of the kids menu so paying $70 per day for them instead of $20 makes no sense. Do it while they're young and enjoy every minute of it :thumbsup2

Thank you!

I'm impressed that you've got it all done already. It usually takes me forever to unpack and get all the laundry done :worship:

Anne Marie - your TR was just wonderful. You have tons of great pictures to jog your memory when it gets a little foggy. :)
