Off to drive my new car to the grocery store!

I hope so too! There is no excuse for that. Are they owned by Elizabeth's insurance company??? ;)

You know, I still don't think we have the insurance billing sorted out. The agent told me to send our payment for April to their office. Did that. Got a cancellation notice. Called the office. They said they didn't have the payment and told me to stop pay on it. THEN they said oh, never mind, they DID get it and it was posted to our account. :scared1: Idiots. THEN they said I owed $70 more. After looking at the statements AGAIN I had worked out that we PROBABLY owed about $56, so I paid the $70 just to make it go away. I have the May statement now and they are showing that we overpaid by $40ish so now we owe less than we should. :sad2: It is absolute insanity. I am NEVER messing with the insurance all at once like that again.

Im hoping to work it out--we will only be in disney for 2 days amd im not sure if i will be able to convince my cousin to meet "people from the internet"...she knows i talk online to some people so when we talked about the trip she said "but we cant meet anyone of the internet people!"
haha..ill try to convince her, but imr eally not sure if i can !
Then you will just have to "bump" into Deb.;)

Matt's funeral service was really wonderful yesterday, the minister said a good sermon. He even got us to laugh a couple of times while reflecting on Matt's life. Mary has a long road ahead of her & I know she will never be the same person. Matt was not married to the mother of his son & they had split up about a year ago(he found out she was cheating on him). He took this really hard & had to get a lawyer for custody rights. He had finally gotten all of this settled & was getting Tyler on a regular basis. The mother came to the visitation & put on a really good show for everyone acting upset & telling Mary & family they could see Tyler when ever they wanted. She did not come to the funeral, which really was no surprise. Mary called her after the service wanting to know if she could bring Tyler over for a while. Her response, "It will be a cold day in you know where before she sees Tyler again". What! This girl is being a witch with a capitol B!!!! I can't believe she said this to her & of all days. Anyway you can imagine how everyone was feeling at this point. We were all hoping she would be civil, but I guess not. So now the court battles will start so Mary can see her grandson :sad2:

Yesterday after I got home we went & purchased our living room & Dining room furniture :thumbsup2 The dining room table will be here Thursday & the living room furniture will be here next week. Gary did not work yesterday because of our crazy weather & was able to get started on a couple of small things.

Hopefully the walls will get painted & the new floor will be put down before the furniture arrives next week.

Yesterday's weather was really wacky! We had strong winds along with rain, sleet, & snow, it was so cold! Hopefully today will be better.

Gary also gets his upper dentures today, I cannot wait to see his beautiful smile again :goodvibes I am going to cook some chicken & dumplings in the crockpot today as his gums will be sore for a a while(he gets his last four front teeth pulled today).

I suppose I should get going so I can get ready for work & get dinner in the crockpot, have a great day all!
How horrible! Does that girl not have parents? What would they think of not seeing their grandchild? Hope the custody battle goes quickly. That poor little boy!!!!

:wizard: Goodluck with painting and flooring.

:wizard: Hope Gary's gums aren't too bad.

Those are terrific! You are making me want to get my sewing machine back out, but no one here would where anything that I make anyway.
I bet they would! I've got to make Joe a button down shirt.

Good morning DDA. Well, I wasted my 10,000 helping someone find Mulan for character signings! So you guys get 10,001! I know Amy will like that number.
Congrats!

Hopefully I will get a chance to "chat" with my boss this evening. I'm not looking forward to it. I also realized that the kids have evening activities that will make me unavailable for a minimum of 4 nights in May, not to mention Lacrosse games. I don't think I'll write myself off for those and just hope for the best. Man it is hard juggling Mommy responsibilities with our need for an income  The nights I need off are for concerts or evening academic programs.
:wizard:

Gotta love the Dollar Spot at Target!
That's really cool!

I hope you didn't otherwise Molly may want to munch on you the next time she sees you ;)
:rotfl:

Can I tell you how much I hate dealing with our mortgage company? We were required at the beginning of March to get flood insurance on the house. So once we got our taxes back we went ahead and took care of it. We paid for the year up front out of our pockets, to the tune of $1400. I logged on today to make check on something else and our escrow shows a balance of -$600.00, why? Because they took $1400 out for flood insurance. :headache: We got a bill back in January for a front foot assessment, it's a charge through our county that is to be paid for the first 30 years of a house. It's a tax for maintaining the sewer lines and such. Anyway, we forwarded it over the to mortgage company. They didn't pay it so Eric called and they argued that it was not to be taken out of escrows. Everyone we know has it paid from their escrow account so we fought it and they agreed to pay it. Well they didn't- last week we got a collection notice since it hasn't been paid. :sad2: Again Eric called back and I was conferenced in on the phone call and the rep said it was to be disbursed right away. I was checking to see if it had and it hasn't as of yet, maybe because we are -$600.00 in the hole!

Hopefully Eric can get to the bottom of this today. It drives me absolutely bonkers.
How frustrating!

Bernadette- Emma will be just fine!! :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:
Thanks! She didn't have any new spots this morning.

Yikes! That sounds like something that would happen to me. If I had a mortgage.
Yes it does!:lmao:

Sounds like she's over the worst of it! Now, all you have to do is get the pox dried up and the antibiotic issue resolved! You are going to have a great trip!!

I just talked to my neighbor. She has a son that is 11 years old. He came down with the chicken pox just recently, and I guess had a monster case. He had been vaccinated, but still was just covered in the pox. From the top of his head, to the soles of his feet. They were even inside his lips. Poor guy! He was so sick! I really let her have it for not letting me know! I could have at least made dinner for the family, loaned movies or something. She's kind of new to the neighborhood, so didn't want to act all needy. I told her we are more than neighbors...we are family, and she'd better let us all help next time!
Thanks! Your poor neighbor boy and you are so nice!

Off to drive my new car to the grocery store!
:drive:

Vicki - I forgot to say CONGRATS on 10,000... er, I mean.... 10,001 posts!

Hey Deb - do you still have those tags you used last year for Teacher Appreciation Day?

Or anyone else??

I don't they must have been lost in one of my computer crashes :sad2:

Tell me about it! One of the toughest things I ever had to do was to go from being a SAHM to teaching, going into work approximately when they got off the bus and finishing up at 9:00 p.m. every night. Kathrin was in 8th grade and Kristin was in Kindergarten when I went back to work.

Lots of nights I missed concerts and plays, etc. I also know that I moved heaven and earth to be at those, canceling lessons and classes sometimes to be there. The good part of this is that both girls grew up knowing that Moms do have to work just as hard as Dads and that they were important enough for me to make it work to our advantage. They also both know that my working allowed them to go to college with minimal student loans to worry about upon graduation. They have both thanked me for that, so we must have done something right.

You did an amazing job with your girls. I can only hope to do that well by my boys. They understand, but they also want me at EVERY function. Nick tells me every night when I get home from work how much he missed me  He usually throws in a "I really mean it" too :goodvibes

I got the book over to Staples. It will cost less than $3 per book to have them bound. That is well worth it, I know they will love them and use them well. I also bought shorts to finish my nephews birthday outfit. They will also match a Disney Hawaiian shirt that I gave him last year and he will match us. I'll have him try them on when he gets home from school. I think I'll buy him the pirate crocs to finish off the outfit. The shirt I made is his birthday shirt and it has Captn Jack on it. I've been debating when to give them to him as his birthday is our first full day at WDW and he will need to wear the outfit that day. I also bought a pretty Aurora dress for Summer to wear to BBB. That is also the first day. Her birthday is at the end of July so she will get it early. I'm considering baking a cake here before we leave and taking it with us. I'd have to use fondant instead of frosting or I'm sure it would melt along the way. I could have a nice little party set up for when the kids arrive with Grandma on the Magical Express. I'm sure they will be hungry then. Of course it will be about 10 PM :confused3 Otherwise I will give the gifts to them before we leave. If I do the party at FW I could give out the Epcot Passports as party favors, maybe with some other goodies. Of course his parents should plan the party  Like that will happen.

I had $20 in Kohl's cash that I had to use this week. I ended up buying socks and underwear. I think Chris and I are all set for summer and the boys all have enough new socks. One more thing done.

We sat down last night and started to make a food list for the trip. I want to pick things up gradually instead of in one huge shopping trip. We will definitely have to plan carefully as the freezer is small and the fridge isn't much bigger. We are planning most breakfasts in the camper and a few meals here and there. I got some great crockpot ideas on the camping forum so I'll have to sort those out. I feel like the reverse of Elizabeth...she figures out the best way to use the DDP and we're working out the best way to cook our own meals :rotfl: There were some crockpot desserts that I will be trying for sure. Nothing beats coming home from a long day at the park to a hot dessert

Yikes! That sounds like something that would happen to me. If I had a mortgage.

So my desktop is doing something weird. How timely. I tried to put the computer on "Sleep" last night, but only the monitor goes to sleep! The tower stays on, and the fan runs harder and harder. I finally gave up on getting it into "sleep" and turned it off. I thought maybe it just needed to reboot or something, but I am still having the same problem this morning. I don't know if it has something to do with the new router or if there is something else wrong with it. :scared:

Sometimes I think this whole home ownership is overrated!

I don't have any ideas on the computer issues.

Ugh, what a headache! I hope it gets straightened out quickly, and stays straight! :wizard:

I hope you get the mortgage mess straightened out soon, Robyn.

Thanks, it seems that the insurance company sent them an invoice showing that it had been paid but the mortgage company paid it anyway.

Congratulations on the grades and honor society -- that's fabulous!

I also think it's strange that the school can't afford cookies...

I loved getting to see how much they are growing. Thanks for sharing!

I agree! I can't believe how much older Virginia is getting! It seems to be going by so fast.

Tia -- the pics of Terra are awesome. Thanks so much for sharing!

Sending more prayers to Mary.

Congrats on getting more of your home remodel done and on buying the furniture. I'm not making any progress on even my clean-out de-cluttering, much less anything else around the house that needs to be done.

I hope Gary's mouth isn't bothering him.

I got nothing done on clean-out last night as we had laundry, homework and work of my own I took home and had to do. Randy is in Odessa for the day for work, so I took the kids to school. Boy, are they super hyper in the morning. That made me get in to work right at 8, so I'm already behind today.

Take care everyone!:)

Sorry last night got away from you, I hate it when that happens.

Tell me about it! One of the toughest things I ever had to do was to go from being a SAHM to teaching, going into work approximately when they got off the bus and finishing up at 9:00 p.m. every night. Kathrin was in 8th grade and Kristin was in Kindergarten when I went back to work.

They also both know that my working allowed them to go to college with minimal student loans to worry about upon graduation. They have both thanked me for that, so we must have done something right.

That dilemma is exactly what keeps me doing the daycare for now. As much as it drives me crazy it allows me to be with the girls in the evenings and weekends. I do miss not being able to help out in their classrooms and taking and picking them up from school but it works.

I decided against the bakery position because the hours a week were not enough for me to cut back/quit the daycare. I will continue to keep looking. The other dilemma is that once I start working outside of the house our gas bill will I am sure double or triple. Since Eric drives a company car and I fill up once every week and a half our gas bill is almost non existent. I am going to keep looking and I know there is something out there that will work. My MIL is to retire in the next year and has offered to watch Mo and Lucy (I may not like her a whole lot but free daycare is nice) so I may just have keep swimming until then.

I hope so too! There is no excuse for that. Are they owned by Elizabeth's insurance company??? ;)

Seems like it, huh?

Off to drive my new car to the grocery store!

Enjoy!!!

You know, I still don't think we have the insurance billing sorted out. The agent told me to send our payment for April to their office. Did that. Got a cancellation notice. Called the office. We must have the same kind of luck!

Me Jennifer? I'm here. I'm just getting a little down in the dumps about sitting around here for an undisclosed amount of time. I'm desperate for it to be June already, or at least to have someone move in with me so I'm not alone all the time! :sad1:

Thanks for thinking of me though, if it was me! ;)

Yes you, since you are on house arrest we expect to see you posting often, when you go MIA we get concerned, , wish we were closer and then you would have too many people dropping in.

I haven't had a chance to trek to the basement to download pictures off our camera, but JCPenney just sent me the link to our portrait session. :)

Mr. Solemn was actually Mr. Cooperative! :goodvibes

All the photos are wonderful! I love these close-ups!

All 5 passports are printed and in order!! Now to drop them off and have them bound.

I'm thinking I might make some small towel animals at home before the trip and stash them away. I could put a new one out every few days to add to the Disney Magic. What do you think?

Cute idea!

I didn't get too many since, but here are a few...

Her froggy hat bought just for the trip and earning her the camp name "Froggy":

Great pictures! She looks so grown up!

DH took Emma to the doctor this morning and they could not confirm or deny Chicken Pox but said we assume that is what it is. They did do a swab but the results won't be back for 2 weeks.

The doctor also wanted her to take an antibiotic for the tick. The results on that test should be back on Wednesday or Thursday and if it is negative we can stop the antibiotic. This worries me because both Lizzy & Joe are alergic to penicillin and Lizzy didn't react til her 2nd time on it and this is just Emma's 2nd time on it.

She WILL be all better by Sunday!!!!!!!
:wizard: I hope that she is feeling better and didn't react to the penicillan. Laura had a reaction to amoxicillan when she was about 18 months old. I'm allergic to sulfa meds, so we always have to remember to mention that.

a few pics
Beautiful girls and family!

Beth - I don't think I said congrats to Laura! Have you talked with her about the WDW trip yet?

I'm still trying to decide how to tell her. I had it planned that I would tell her when we go to MA for the synchro meet, but now a friend wants to share driving and the room, so we won't have any time alone afterall. I know that I should be happy to be saving money on the room and gas, but I did want to be by ourselves. Oh well, I'm sure it will be good.

DS had a bit of a rough day. :sad2:
He claims that people have been getting things stolen out of their backpacks while they are at lunch. He put his cell phone in his pocket and took it to lunch with him. THEN he said the phone was vibrating, so he took it out. It was a wrong number so he deleted it. Um, maybe. Then he showed the phone to his friend. And it got confiscated by the resource officer.

So after school DH had to go in the office and pay $15 :scared1: to get the phone back.

I'm a little bit angry at DS. He needs to pay DH back because he shouldn't have had it out at school. I told him repeatedly that his friends are NOT to know about the phone, but the temptation was too great. Ever since he took the phone to Kansas he has played with it relentlessly (at home). I mean he plays with it ALLLLL weekend - he takes photos, he records music, whatever. Well, I am sure he was so proud of whatever he loaded on there that he HAD to show his friend. Lesson learned, now the phone will be staying at home the rest of the school year. He got it because he was staying after for band, but they are finished with that so he has no need to carry it with him. Besides, the rest of the week is "no backpacks" because of testing.

DH was FURIOUS and was being really mean to DS. I feel bad for DS because it worked out OK in the end.

He got his report card today. 5 A's and a C in Math. But the C was a 78, just 2 points shy of a B. It's his best report card yet, and I feel bad that the day was ruined by the phone.
 :yay: :woohoo: for the report card! I'm sorry that about the phone troubles. Report cards should be arriving here very soon, too.

I think it went okay, thanks. They were running late and ti was a pretty long interview, but I answered all the questions well i think. At the end they told me i did a good job adn had nice solid answers. They also said I seemed like a natural dealing with children!
Sounds like a good interview!

Karen-great slide show

:lovestruc
Ditto

This purchase was relatively painless! I ordered the quote online, communicated with the salesman by email about 90% of the time, did a test drive with no push to purchase anything, and sealed the deal by email this morning. Now, if the paper signing tomorrow is this simple I would consider buying another car from them in about 10 years!
Congratulations on the new car! It sounds like you replace cars about as often as we do.

Robyn - Sorry the bakery job didn't work out. I love my job, but I can tell you it is next to impossible to be a nanny with more than 1 child of your own. Susan goes through spurts where she wants to work but she just can't find anything where she would be able to bring both boys with her.

I was talking to the asst. mgr. in my Disney Store yesterday. Disney is taking the stores back on Thursday. He said IF things go like they have been told that Disney will give them the benefits they used to have. If the benefits were good enough I would really consider working there at least one day every weekend. Of course they are supposed to close the store where I always go, so I would have to pick another one.

Look who showed up in my garden this afternoon....

My neighbor brought it back for me. I love her!

Very cute.

I'm heading to work soon. Please send all the extra good thoughts my way as I talk with my boss.
