DDA Chapter 7

Have a safe drive tomorrow. :wizard: for Chuck's dad.

Ditto!

As far as single parenting, that's really been my mother's downfall. She is a complete slave to Diva Girl. When the Ogre was alive Diva Girl played them one against the other, and now my mother just flat out refuses to ever tell her "No". It's a mess. :sad2:

Chuck did a lot of work on my sister's house. She had a "Chuck-do" list when he got here. :lmao: Most of it was things that she didn't know how to do. Most of the time, she just handles it herself with phone assistance from him. Mom bought the Time Life series of fix-it books on e-bay at Chuck's recommendation. We have all of them and now he can pull it out and they can be looking at the same thing.

I think that is the worst part....keeping up the house and knowing how to do all those 'guy' things. I was so proud of myself when I figured out how to replace a taillight on my van. :rotfl:

"guy" things? What exactly are guy things:rotfl2:

I've read everything, but I'm too tired to respond individually. It sounds that most people are really busy.

The boys got creamed in their game this morning. It seems that other team was made up of 13 year old that have played together for 5 years. Our team has 9 - 12 year olds and most are just starting this year. Some of those boys that they played against were as big as Chris. I was actually impressed that they got over the intimidation by the 2nd half. Hunter was up against the biggest player on their team and he even got the ball away from him. Hopefully we won't play more teams like that

I worked tonight. I waited on 50 people. It really didn't feel like 50 people so I guess that's good. Hopefully tomorrow will be busy too.

Vicki :wizard: for Chucks father. Hope you all have a safe drive!

It's been a busy couple of days. We have really enjoyed spending time with the kids. However, we will be leaving tomorrow afternoon. Chuck called his brother to check on his dad yesterday and found out that he isn't doing well. I have to be in Lansing for a couple of days (since I'm not needed here) and Chuck needs to get back home so he can go see his dad. Becky is currently in Grand Rapids visiting her boyfriend and is scheduled to head home on Monday. So she and Chuck are going home together and leaving me in Lansing. So we need to get to Lansing tomorrow.

Sorry Chanon. We are going to miss you once again. I promise one of these times, we'll take time to see you when we get down here. I think we'll be coming down at least twice a year now. My nephew really can use the male role model.

What a nasty day already! It is raining & we have wind advisories out till tonight :sad2: After work we are going over to Gary's mothers to cookout, this should be fun lol Last night we bought her a bouquet of chocolate covered strawberries, they look so good! Thought this would be something different than flowers & tastier too :rotfl:

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Happy Mother's Day, to all DDA mommies and daddies.

Mom and Dad raised my brother, sister & I doing both the traditional girl & guy things. We shared housework and outside work. Dad made us all learn how to check/add oil in the car and change a tire before we could get a drivers license. Since I was oldest, I was usually the helper on fix-it projects if mom was unavailable.

I've gotten lazy because Chuck does most of the outside/car work for us. I don't think I know how to chnage the taillight but I could figure it out if needed. I did learn how to change the fuse in the car recently and was quite proud of myself.

Mom left this morning. Chuck & I are going to church with my sister, niece and nephew. After that, we'll eat lunch and hit the road.

My sister and I went out last night and got some shoes to go with all the new clothes that I've gotten recently. They look like Wicked Witch of the West shoes to me. My sister says pointy shoes are "in". Yuck! I didn't get the real pointy ones, thank goodness. I also got a pair of dressier slip-ons. I don't have anything but my crocs to wear with shorts & capris. I've felt kind of funny about that since I got all the new clothes.
