that is the most important thing, Deb! The work will be there when you get to it. Cuddle time and sleep is precious!!

Sounds like you needed both the sleep and cuddles Deb!

I kept Abi home to get a full day of albueterol in her...and I slep until 10:00 too and now she's ready to go back to sleep

thank you all for keeping it to a dull roar the last couple of days.:lmao:

I read and processed than promptly lost it all so  and:wizard: all around

sounds like your day is off to a great start too, Theresa! :)

Our mortgage officer just called me to let me know that our loan processor was killed in a car accident this morning. She was 27 years old. Our mortgage officer is having a very tough time dealing with it. What a tragic loss. She wanted us to know that our loan could be slowed by this. That is so unimportant in the whole spectum at this point :sad1:

how sad!!!

when I need her brainstorming? :rotfl:

Let me type this all out (so I don't inundate Chanon with this drivel!)...

We have a AAA package with discount booked for our September trip. I am looking at the possibility of having the free dining promotion available to us for that trip. So, I worked out some numbers and came up with this.

4 nights @ Polynesian (Lagoon View) at rack rate + 1 day base ticket and no dining = $2133.54 (this is what free dining would give us)

same package with DDP added = $2437.46
same package with Deluxe DDP added = $2693.46

difference we would need to pay if we were allowed to upgrade to Deluxe DDP appears to be $256

so, the free dining package w/ upgrade ought to be about $2389.46

4 nights @ Polynesian (Lagoon View) w/ AAA discount + 1 day base ticket + Deluxe Dining = $2396.50

Am I missing something here? Is is about equal? Have I missed something??

I don't think you've missed anything!! Sometimes the discounts we can find elsewhere come out the same or better than free dining.

Don't forget - with "free" dining, you're paying that lovely Disney rack rate for the room. So, I'm not that surprised, with a more expensive resort/room category, that the savings aren't that significant.

That's what it looks like to me at first blush! If you do the AAA thing, then you get that 10-15% off the deluxe rate. (Can you book through AAA for free dining and get both? I seem to think not, but not sure why I think that...:confused3 )

ETA: Do you guys have AP's? If so, I'd hold out hope for the AP "room only" discount, with the ability to add on the DDP, so you don't have to factor in those 1-day base tickets (or are you upgrading those to AP's once you get there?).

I read this on the codes board...

Here are the details for 2008 Free Dining. 08/24/08 - 09/20/08. Disney Visa holders can book on 04/07/08 with code AYG...General public opens up on 04/10/08

oh, Deb... that is so very sad. she was so young. :sad1:

We do have APs and will continue to hope for an AP rate to come out before we pay off the package! If nothing better comes along we will use the base tickets later.

Elin,

The benefit to free dining is more so when you are booked at a lower rate resort. If you were at Pop or a Mod it's more significant than the Poly. Since you are paying rack rate on deluxe free dining is not always the best way to go.

Anne Marie - I have read so many different things on the codes board that I have stopped looking! There are many conflicting rumors, but the one you posted is the one I have read the most in the past 24 hours or so. That is a very short time period for that promotion!

And, by the way, our trip begins on September 27...

And, our resident AAA guru has confirmed that the difference in the packages is the cost of the insurance. So, I am not going to lose sleep over $150 or so. and neither will she! ;)

Whoo Hoo! I'm a guru! :teeth: And why does everyone think they are bothering me WHEN I'M AT WORK and DOING MY JOB?! :rotfl:

eta: but i'll still be up early calling!

Elin-you know the planning you (and Elizabeth) work on for figuring out Disney?? Well that is what Cassidy does for marching band:rotfl: . She has 3 different scenarios for her SENIOR year....they all end up with Julia and she being drum majors...because they would be the only seniors in the band (pretty close at least). I didn't want to bust her bubble last night and say "What if he let's juniors try because of the low #":rotfl2: .
