One of my staff, also a Girl Scout volunteer, got after me at our meeting today saying that I have to be there on Saturday. She was really pushing me so I'm signed up. They are also having a Sunset Celebration from 7-10pm to celebrate the end of our Council (since we are merging with other councils to become one) which I'll attend.

I figured someone would let you know how big this event is for you, Vicki. I am glad you have worked it out to go. I can't wait to hear what you are getting!

Jennifer - Great shower pictures. You and Amy both look terrific and Alyssa looks like quite the little lady!

Beth - that cake is sinful looking! I hope it tasted as good as it looks in the pictures.

I'm sorry to hear that, Jen! Holler if you need anything!

So I was just e-mailing DS's teacher to let her know he will have LOTS of papers for her tomorrow when I realized that poor DS is probably worried about my mom! :guilty: She is a frequent topic of conversation these days. He gets distracted so easily anyway, I am sure this is not something he can put out of his mind. :sad2:

poor kid! I hope he can get focused for the standardized testing coming up.

We are always here for you Jennifer. I'm sorry that things are bringing you down.

We are also watching the end of Biggest Loser. We only watched the last hour. They really are amazing!

We've been watching since the beginning...we are so thrilled with the at home winner

Jen - I hope things settle down at home for you soon. Let us know if there is anything we can help with.

My first concert was Seals & Croft! :rotfl2: I still love them!

Oh Debbie that would be awesome! I hope you are able to join us :cool1:

Elizabeth,

What day and where is the DDA meal in August, it is still a big maybe but we are seriously considering a three day trip.

Headed to bed. Have great evenings, everyone! :)

you are probably right....the poor kid.

I hope he gains some of his focus back.

Thanks! This may require a chat with the diagnostician, the pediatrician, and the school guidance counselor. He is already allowed to have extra time for standardized tests if he wants it, but I want to get input from his "team" to see what we need to do to get the best possible outcome for him.

My first concert was Seals & Croft! :rotfl2: I still love them!

I've been racking my brain...my first was Nitty Gritty Dirt Band to attend but my mom bought me tickets to Air Supply for the birthday so that's my first concert.

I have also seen a ton of country bands (had weeklong tickets to our fair for 3 years...great bands often on their way up!!)
T'Pau
Jump 5

and a couple of others I can't think of:rotfl:

Bernadette Cape May is fine, go for it! Just let me know what you decide. The boys & I can try Ohana for breakfast in August :thumbsup2

Also I am hoping to get to Epcot that morning as well, so that will work!

Janet-I got Cape May for Thursday May 8th at 10:55. Should we go with that and cancel OHana? I would be happy with either one with a slight edge to Cape May so Emma & I can hit Soarin' and Test Track.

I saw Great White and Whitesnake in high school. After I moved to Dallas a friend from FL came to town and we saw The Cult - his suggestion, not mine. I am not a fan of The Cult.

My friend who lives in Tampa (and is now a paramedic) used to tour with bands. She worked for a marketing company, so she sold the T-shirts and whatever. The most bizarre band we ever saw (compliments of her) was GWAR. Unfortunately when she toured with anyone recognizable they never came to Dallas! :rotfl2:

I think you have something there Elizabeth!

Jennifer great pictures from the Baby Showers & I must say you look wonderful! Your little helper is a cutie as well :goodvibes

Because I do a horrible job at posting pictures as I go (here), I'll let you know that the blog has updated shower pictures, etc from the last several weekends and will have ultrasound pictures (not great ones.... the girls are getting too crowded :rotfl: ) in just a few minutes. But first, some familiar faces...

Good night ladies, it's way past my bedtime.

Elizabeth - don't give away those spots for dinner, I will be putting in for that week off tomorrow and if all goes well we'll be there. We'll only be staying for three nights, staying at a value, driving, and no dining plan, and no hoppers, that should cut way down on the expense.

Beth you need to post a warning before you show a picture like this :rotfl: OMG this looks so good!

I'm not sure how big the event is as far as the award. Her feeling it is important may be because it is the end of an era for us. I met her when she was a senior in high school. She was a CIT (Counselor in Training) at Girl Scout camp that year. When she graduated from college with a computer degree, she got a job with a temp agency and she heard through me one summer that we might need a temp in the fall. We have been through many firsts/lasts together in Girl Scouts. This is a big deal for those still very involved in Girl Scouts. She is a very special person to me. Katrina lived with her the first summer that she lived away from home after she got out of the dorms.
