OK, Theresa... since I am staying up with you does that mean you are getting up with me in 6 hours?![]()
HALLELUJAH! It must have felt darned good to hear him say that, Theresa!
Well, I am settled down now so I ought to be able to read a bit and then fall asleep. Thanks for keeping me company, Theresa. I will say good night to you and see everyone in the morning!
Elin-you wouldn't happen to know if there is some sort of job that Cassidy work with musicals? We have a show we listen to weekly that is Broadway show tunes and she said she would love to work with musicals of all kinds...
but I really have nowhere to tell her to turn.
What about a degree in music industry? I have three former students studying that now. It allows things like representing a rock band to managing a theater ... which could have musicals in it!
more info, Theresa:
A music industry degree program is a course of study within a college or university directed toward the specific goal of preparing students to work in this market. While more traditional degrees offer preparation for teaching or performing, music industry degree programs offer coursework that provides ample preparation for those that love this subject and want a career in the business end of the discipline. Some of the program options for those interested are the business, recording technology, or a program that is a combination of the two. The usual degree that is offered is a Bachelor of Music or a Bachelor of Science.
This training will combine musically-based business courses with regular business administration courses. The industry is unique, and some of the practices employed in the field are unique as well. Some of the careers available to music industry degree program business graduates are musical instrument sales, instrument manufacturing, publishing and printing, instrument repair, and recording including electronics. For students of music industry degree programs interested in the recording technology aspect, the career path could include recording engineer, audio-video post-production engineer, record production, editing, and studio management.

Interesting. Wonder what happened.Well, I just finished dinner. It was a strange night.
During my final private lesson at 8:30, my HS student kept looking over my shoulder out the windows toward his Mom's car. I finally asked what was going on and he said he was a little worried about his Mom since that guy had been talking to her for about 15 minutes. I suggested that he call her on his cell phone and see if she was OK. She did not answer. So I called her and also received no answer. They guy was acting very oddly but finally left and then the Mom moved her car. I locked Nick in the studio to see if she was OK. Turns out she was calling 911! This guy, who lives over one of the cafe's downtown was planning to commit suicide. I went back into the studio and got Nick and sent him home with his Mom. I figured they had her cell phone number if they needed to contact her again. After 15 minutes of waiting for anyone at all to come, I decided to come on home. There was no one else around and I was concerned for my own welfare. I am hoping someone came and helped this poor man.
Very nice. Congratulations to her and to you. You did good, Mom!When I walked in the house tonight, Kristin called. She had been fitted for her cap and gown and hood and was ordering her graduation announcements. Now, I know that I have been very proud of both my daughters' academic accomplishments, but sometimes I wonder about their common sense. She will follow in her sister's footsteps and graduate Magna Cum Laude. But she didn't think it was important enough to put on the announcements. Luckily she had not hit the "SUBMIT" button to place her order! They will now say:
