Anne Marie glad to hear Sophie is felling better! Sorry Dana's mother is such a pita :sad2: I have said it before & I will say it again, I am so happy I have a wonderful mil that I get along with!

Deb :wizard: that Colby gets an evaluation appt. soon! I hope your house remodeling doesn't stress you to much  Right now all my bathroom stuff is sitting in the dining room. We decided that we want to put a different floor down(if the price is right), so I might have my smaller mess a little while longer.

Elizabeth I am glad you got your dining figured out! I still do not think we will do the DP in August, but I am really hoping for a good AP rate. If one comes out I want to upgrade to another resort, I'm thinking WL. I would love to stay at the Poly again, but I do not think that will be in the budget :sad1:

Hmm, I was hoping for more. Bummer, we might just be sticking with PC then.

Bernadette - Despite the fact that he really SHOULD stick to Pepsi products, DH drinks whatever is on sale. Coke, Pepsi, or Dr. Pepper. Right now we have cans of Pepsi and 2 liters of Coke at home. He takes the cans to work in his little cooler, the 2 liters he drinks the rest of the time.
I am HOPING for an AP discount of $50 off per night. That's based on value season discounts from earlier this year.

Jen I am glad to hear you are able to go on the cruise, you will have so much fun!

Hi Everyone,

I've been trying to keep up with everyone! I do read everyday to see how your doing. I know if I don't, and log off, I'll lose my page. But unfortunately, that's happened a few times anyway and it's hard to read what is going on, backwards.

Anyway, since I'm on vacation, I've a chance to post. I live in a wonderful city, on the small side, with a lot of wonderful rich history. But sometimes we will branch out to Philadelphia which is only a 45 minute ride to center city.

The Franklin Institute is having a Star Wars event, which is why we went and kind of makes this on topic. I thought I'd show you a few pictures.

Kirsta test driving a HoverCraft:

I haven't been since grade school, and do remember a few things I we saw. The giant beating heart and the pendulem. But Kirsta did do a few things that was different.
Like ride a wave:

Tour an aircraft exhibit:

And when we said, there is the Art Musuem that Rocky ran up the steps, Kirsta said "Rocky who?"

I think I am on to something here. Doing DxDDP with an AP rate for the front half would accomplish all sort of things.
1 - Mugs for the duration.
2 - 3 signature dinners, plus Tutto Italia (if it's open) which is 1 credit but expensive, would all be covered, INCLUDING appetizers!
3 - 1 more buffet breakfast
4 - Credits are valid until midnight of 8/10 which covers both TS I have booked that day.
5 - Lower cost to do DxDDP for 6 nights instead of 7
6 - We can redeem any leftover snack credits for stuff to keep in the room because we'll still be at WDW for 7 more nights.
7 - DS can choose from the adult menu. Not that he sees this as a good thing.
8 - We'll be so full by the end of these 6 nights that we won't CARE if we don't have DDP for the remainder of the trip. :rotfl:

Compared to what we were going to pay OOP this is an increase of $200 - $264 depending on room category (entirely contingent on an AP rate). But we also save $40 on mugs! ;) I did factor in that we'll be paying tips OOP. I think we'll do this regardless of what happens with free dining the following week!

OK, AP rates can come out now!

:rotfl:

I really need to have you run all my numbers...I'm certain I could save money...

So I am headed out to dinner..but i just wanted to stop by and say

IM GOING TO ALASKA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
:) :) :) :) :) :)

Congratulations! My parents loved their Alaskan Cruise.

Anne Marie -- glad Sophie is feeling better.

Deb -- I'm glad you have a plan for the remodel. PD to getting Colby's eval ASAP. Jake couldn't say anything with L's for quite a while. Interestingly, it's Andrew that still gets therapy, as his problem is expressive communication, not articulation.

Glynis -- my family loved the Strawberry Daquiri cake. Thanks again for sharing the recipe. Have you ever tried a different icing with it? I'm thinking of trying cream cheese instead of the vanilla.

Off to dinner.

Hi Sally! Love the pictures :thumbsup2 Rocky who :lmao:

Time to go to a baseball meeting, practice will be starting soon!

I don't know what was wrong with the hovercraft, but here is another one.

What I loved most about the exhibit, was really stupid. The steps that lead up to the building had Darth Vader. Then Men all viewing this exhibit, including my BIL had to wear thier Star Wars shirts.

But what a long and tiring day!!

I'm glad they liked the cake. I've tried it with Cream cheese icing, and it was really yummy! I add more lime zest than the recipe calls for, and it really adds a distinctive flavor!

Sally I love the pictures....Espescially the darth vader steps.

All heck broke loose in my house this afternoon...with a piano bench getting broken...I swear I live with three kids:headache:

Did I miss this recipe somewhere :rolleyes1 Sounds delicious!

What's kind of funny is that right now the AP rate for a standard room at AKL is $164 (before tax) which makes it cheaper than it was during value season ($175). Seems funny that it would be LESS per night during PEAK season!

Hi, Sally! We saw that same exhibit in Ft. Worth! The steps are really cool! Our museum didn't have steps. :guilty:

Theresa - That doesn't sound good.

Was that really all it was? I got $33 off on my value room in January during value season. Wouldn't you be hoping for more in the $70 range? Isn't the current regular season discount about $100?

Elizabeth I am glad you got your dining figured out! I still do not think we will do the DP in August, but I am really hoping for a good AP rate. If one comes out I want to upgrade to another resort, I'm thinking WL. I would love to stay at the Poly again, but I do not think that will be in the budget :sad1:
Have the boys been to Pop?

Hi Everyone,
Hi! Love the photos!

This is the type of rate I am hoping for Aug., I would even stay at AKL if I could not get WL.

What's kind of funny is that right now the AP rate for a standard room at AKL is $164 (before tax) which makes it cheaper than it was during value season ($175). Seems funny that it would be LESS per night during PEAK season!

Yes, twice & they both enjoy it there! But I am always up for something else if possible & they do not mind as long as there is a decent pool. What they like the most about PC is the game room & I have to agree. They have the best that I have seen so far.
