Ugh, this has been such an ordeal for you! :sad2: I hope it gets resolved quickly, and you get a good outcome from it! You certainly deserve something for the mess!

I don't have time now to catch up, but I just wanted to pop in and say hi and let you know that I'm up here in PA. The drive was ok and the kids were good. I hope everyone is doing well. :grouphug: :wizard:

so what is everyone up to tonight

Bob and I just got back from dinner at an Irish pub called "The Blarney Stone" here in town. :drinking1 It was delicious and reminded us of R&C and Raglan Road. Now, I am home and DISing.

How about you, Jen?

Was it you Elin, that keeps telling us about fried corn?? If so could you (or whoever it was) tell me how to make it again and if it reheats well?? Please??:flower3:

It is me! Here is how I make it:

Take a bag (or two) of frozen corn OR a few cans (4 or so) of whole kernel corn and drain it VERY well.

Melt a stick of butter/margarine in a skillet (I use an electric one) and add the corn. Stir well and add a little ground pepper. Cook over low heat for a LONG time (hours) stirring often until the corn begins to caramelize slightly. You may need to add more butter as the day goes on. I think I usually cook it for 4 hours or so!

It reheats very well!

I was telling Jim he has now being called a saint:rotfl2:
...I don't mind being flamed for my opinion but they are attacking my family and morals. :headache:

I was telling Elizabeth...this group would be even more appalled if I told them I'm not an attached parenter...I only opened the dang thread to find out what the heck it was. Why can't parenting just be called parenting??:confused3

That is what I always have called it...

Bob has one for work. I have a Compaq I love (same company).

Theresa, Elin makes the fried corn(I have not tried it yet), but here is her recipe:

Mom's Fried Corn

As much corn as you want (can be thawed frozen, or canned, drained well)
A full stick of butter or margarine
Salt & pepper to taste (I use no salt, and a little pepper)

Melt butter in an electric skillet on low. Add well-drained corn and stir well. Cover and cook on low until the corn starts to caramelize. Salt and pepper to taste just before serving. (I put this on in the morning and cook it for a few hours.)

thanks, Janet! :goodvibes I wrote it better the time you copied it than I did just a few minutes ago! :rotfl:

Hi Ya'll, Just got home from having a bite to eat with Hal and his brother. We really had a good time. I put half the meal in a to-go box and ate the rest. Now I am home in my pj's and ready to enjoy the evening.

I was going to go into work today but my back was saying---stay home. So that is what I did. Will get my hair cut tomorrow.

The kids found a great place to stay down at the shore for a week in June. It is at the Outer Banks and it looks great. I am going to be able to go down for just Wednesday afternoon to Saturday, but I am excited. It really looks like a nice place to stay. Six bedrooms, 4 and half baths, pool table, outdoor pool, big, big kitchen. Just have to make sure there is some shopping nearby.:goodvibes

I am so glad you let us know you arrived safely. I bet the traffic was nasty. Hopefully not the weather.

I am about to put on my jammies too, Terry! I am curious where the house at the beach is. We go there every couple of years and have stayed in numerous locations along the Outer Banks (OBX). I love it there, and in fact I think we are due for a trip there this summer! However, I think it would just be Bob and me. :( Not sure how I feel about that...

No I haven't, I will have to go look for them ::yes::

I am not the best at taking pictures, but I will be snapping away :thumbsup2

Hi Janet!

Have you seen to new Flower Fest photos from today? I'm so ready!!

I have an HP pavilion dv6000 and love it. I had that one problem, but they fixed it with no cost to me. Since I'm using it all the time I think it is holding up pretty darn well :thumbsup2
