So, I guess I win the Dumb--s award for today. After getting up at 3:30 am and getting to work at 5:00 am I went to punch in, and the computer told me that I was not scheduled to work. I completely forgot that I was supposed to be OFF today,

Oh Debbie---I am so sorry. What a way to lose sleep

but it is funny since I have almost done the same thing :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I need to vent a bit. Chris and I went on our weight watcher's diet full force Monday morning. I even gave up ALL soda, even my beloved diet cherry pepsi. I'm drinking as much water as I can and supplementing with crystal light. I have been sure not to go over my points, so why is it that I haven't lost ANY weight :confused3 Chris has lost, though he won't tell me how much as he knows that I will be mad that he can lose at the drop of a hat.
I guess I'll just keep on swimming.

Vent over return to your regularly scheduled DDAing :goodvibes

hang inthere! You will lose the weight too!

Public Service Announcement:

Colby watched the Today show this morning and he learned that we should not eat burritos. Why you might ask...well there was a lady on the show that wanted to have one baby so she had a burrito and then she had three babies at one time...

She had in vitro not a burrito :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: I get tears from laughing so hard at his interpretation :rotfl: :rotfl:
:rotfl:

Hi everyone! Back from Vegas! Too short of a trip, that's for sure. The Wynn is beautiful, Spamalot was awesome and The Buffet at the Wynn was delish! Took us an hour and a half to get home from the airport - normally a 40 minute drive. Ice was horrible! We couldn't see any lines on the freeway and almost hit a tree on a road close to home. Lost power about midnight and didn't come back on until 10:30am this morning. I'll have photos up later tonight if I get a chance after class.
Welcome back!

I'll catch up more later, but I finally got this loaded and wanted to share with you all. I hope the link works.

Love it! i so wish I was there with you guys! cant wait til the next DDA meet!

Hi, Karen! Those are both nice ways to remember Shocker!:goodvibes
Very nice Karen!

So, I guess I win the Dumb--s award for today. After getting up at 3:30 am and getting to work at 5:00 am I went to punch in, and the computer told me that I was not scheduled to work. I completely forgot that I was supposed to be OFF today,
Sounds like something I would do!

Be careful Deb...hope it's a good night at work.

What grade syrup do you all make? (See I learned something today!)

Syrup grades are all dependant on the quality of the sap. That varies greatly from year to year. Last year we made only medium and dark amber, but we usually make fancy too. I'll let you know what we're making once we start.

Anne Marie & Elizabeth how do you deal with the humidity in August at Disney? It does get really warm & humid here in the summer, but then I stay inside as much as possible lol

I am thinking we need to get to the parks early & leave in the afternoon & return at night. Do you all stay at the parks or do you take breaks? I know neither of you like taking breaks, but do you do things differently in the summer?

We find that Disney in August is no worse than Vermont in August. We did have the luxury of hitting the parks early in the morning, hitting the pool in the afternoon and heading back to the parks for evening MH. My mother, who is not usually a night person, loved doing it that way. She has even made comments about our trip this summer. We aren't planning on doing a park on the 4th, but she says that she'll have her AP and if she feels like hitting a park she will :rotfl:

So here is a slideshow of the Wynn and Hoover Dam. The rooms were so comfortable! You can buy everything in the room - down to the curtains and the carpeting. I was suprised to find out that the beds are the most popular item (well...not really after sleeping in one!) and is 43% of the hotel sales!
The golf course looks beautiful. Bob was thinking about golfing there - until we found out that a tee time is $500. (Includes cart, cattie, shoes, clubs and use of pro shop amenities.) I'd see Spamalot again in a heartbeat! It was hilarous!
Hoover Dam was...interesting. The drive was beautiful - I wish we could have spent some more time in the city right outside the Dam...it looked so quaint! They are building a new bridge/freeway to bypass Hoover Dam.
Other than that, we didn't do much! The food at The Buffet at the Wynn was wonderful! Even at $32 a person - remind you of anything? ;) - the food was great given they had prime rib, crab legs, sushi, italian, american, etc..etc..and many other stations to pick from! :faint:
Bob and Mom at at Zoozacrackers - two burgers and two cokes for $35 - worth EVERY penny.
Our flight going was fine - no bumps in the air and from MDW to LAS we had the singing flight attendants.
Coming home (into the storm) at about 500 miles away until we landed (plus a 20 minute holding pattern above CLE) felt like we were 4x4ing in a jeep or something. The pilot recieved a round of appause as soon as we touched down - and then again when we stopped at the gate.

PS: Janet - thank you so much! We ended up with A47 and A48.

It looks like a great trip. You were even IN some of the photos:rotfl2:

I'll catch up more later, but I finally got this loaded and wanted to share with you all. I hope the link works.

That is terrific. Chris and I want to go back NOW. Hunter enjoyed it too, but wanted to know why he wasn't in any of the pictures :rotfl:

Your family seems so nice. You do a lot of fun things with and for your extended family.

Work was DEAD tonight. I managed to do 11 meals compared to 26 last night. What's worse is that most people were tipping 10% at best. It is so strange how that tends to happen all in one night. I did have 3 customers who raved about me to the management...they left me $5 total :confused3

The roads are fairly dry so I had no problems getting home. I have to wonder how the back roads are though.

They are giving 4 lithos/prints from the movie if you pre-order Enchanted, like they did for 101 Dalhmantions. Check with your Disney Store, I would think its a store-wide thing & not just here in NY. 3 of the prints are live & 1 is the animated Giselle & Prince Edward.
I'll have to call tomorrow. Thanks.

Tammi, I also have an e-mail from Best Buy for $10 off another Disney DVD if you pre-order Enchanted. I'd be happy to send it to you if you'd like. (They also pledge that they will lower the price you pay for the movie if it's on sale when released, which I'm sure it will be.)
I'm going to try for the lithos first. I'll let you know. But if someone else wants it, go ahead and pass it on. Thanks!

So who is watching America Idol this season?

I told DH last week that I really, really don't like that one guy. Then I see yesterday that he spent 3 years dancing NAKED!:scared1: No wonder he has that really arrogant attitude. Like those boys in high school who were CONSTANTLY hounding the girls for, um, attention.:rolleyes1 He just has that attitude that he thinks he is soooooo cool, but he tries to act like he is humble. He kind of makes me nauseous.

I do really like that little David Archuleta. He is precious and he is an amazing performer.

I also really liked the Lionel Richie meets Pearl Jam guy! :rotfl2: The problem is that I have heard him botch lyrics twice in the handful of times he has been on, which can't be good. He messed up a lyric in his audition and he did it again last week. What boggles my mind is that the judges don't call him on it! Maybe they don't know the lyrics, either?:confused3
Me. I think a lot of the guys are good. The girls, not so much.

Deb - Stay safe! I hope the restaurant is busy enough to warrant you having to go in!:wizard:

DH is on his first ride-along for a convenience store route today. They have SEVENTEEN stores! :scared1: He called and told me to go get DS. Princess is SOOOO excited. She said "Princess & Elizabeth go pick up DS?" I told her yes. She said "DS will be so happy to see me!":rotfl2:

She lasted the whole day at school so she must be feeling OK. I do think she is constipated, so I am letting her drink juice (which is a HUGE treat because she almost never gets to have it).
Does she actually refer to herself as Princess and to DS as DS??? :rotfl:

I don't think David H. (stripper dude) has an attitude but Danny boy sure does (and a flamboyant one at that). I also liked David Cook's version of "Hello." It's hard to deny that David A. has talent, but he's just too goody goody for me. I know he's only 17, but I prefer "bad boys." (Except bad boys who max my credit cards, which is why my mom prayed for me to marry a good boy like Kevin :goodvibes )

The judges are often clueless (well, Paula is always clueless ;) ). Last night Randy compared Michael Johns to Michael Hutchence (INXS) which was weird after he just sang a Simple Minds song. :confused3

I hope DS wasn't teased about his glasses today. :wizard:

Be careful Deb...hope it's a good night at work.

What grade syrup do you all make? (See I learned something today!)
I've started to count how many times she starts a sentence, gets halfway through, starts another sentence, gets halfway through, starts another....well you get it. It drives me MAD!

Anne Marie & Elizabeth how do you deal with the humidity in August at Disney? It does get really warm & humid here in the summer, but then I stay inside as much as possible lol

I haven't been in Aug before so this is all new to me too. I'm like you Janet. I stay in the AC as much as possible in the summer. Our weather here probably isn't that much different than FL in Aug. I plan on getting to the parks at opening, leaving at lunch to enjoy Stormalong Bay and then going back after dinner. I hope this plan works for us!

Sadly after trying for an hour or so, neither Dad nor I was able to salvage files from Phil's old computer. We were trying to boot from a Linux disk like we did to salvage Dad's computer. The sad part is that I found out last night that some of our CD files were bad so I'm missing pics from 3 months of 2006 plus Terra's 3rd birthday trip to WDW in Feb 06. I think that I have a few of the Feb pictures on photobucket, but otherwise it looks like they are gone. :sad1:

Now though, my computer stuff is officially backed up and in two locations. After I pick up Phil, I'll make it officially three locations. Gotta protect those pictures!
I'm sorry you lost those precious pictures. I always try to burn mine to disc, and at least 2 of those, just in case!

God Bless the DDA!!!! It was thanks to several DDAers that Terra's 2-06 birthday trip of the missing photos came together. Apparently, I celebrated that by posting more pics than normal or did a slideshow or something. Anyway, I jsut checked photobucket to see what pictures I had there from that trip and found 91 pictures!! I'm sure it wasn't all of them by any means, but many character pics are there plus a bunch of others. :dance3: I feel so much better about the lost computer now. That was the one thing that I regretted most about losing.
:cool1: :cool1:

Love the slideshow! It sounds like a wonderful time. I really need to go there someday.

Did you go home and go to bed?

Can I go with your family? My family is a bunch of wimps!

Hope Katie gets to participate in the storytelling competition!:wizard:

One of Joe's favorite songs is Candle on the Water from Pete's Dragon.:thumbsup2

I stayed and worked long enough to pay for the gas to get ther and back, then I ran a few errands since I was already out and about.

What wonderful keepsakes to remember Shocker by.

Tammi - Love the slideshow :thumbsup2

Chanon - Welcome Home!

Tia - I was able to save all the info from my computer that crashed by purchasing a "box" to enclose the hard drive in, now I just plug it into a USB port and I can access the info that way. Actually one of my daughter's friends did it for me, he got the box for $20.00.

Deb - I'm glad I haven't had any Burritos lately, :lmao:

Tammi - Your slide show is terrific! DS and Princess enjoyed it, too!:)

Oh Tammi I love it! I had such a wonderful time & so look forward to meeting everyone again :goodvibes

Very nice!!!!

WOW!!!!!! Awesome!!!!!!!

Tammi - what a terrific job on the slideshow from October.

Love it! i so wish I was there with you guys! cant wait til the next DDA meet!

DOH! (Insert Anne Marie's head slappin' smiley)

I just had a weight watchers chocolate fudge brownie ice cream cup. Very Yummy :thumbsup2 and only 2 points.

I just watched my slideshow. I didn't realize that photobucket cut it off after 5 minutes. Sorry it ended so abruptly. It doesn't do that in 'real life.' Oh well. I tried.

The Mega Mouse Meet was sold out in just 38 hours. Stephanie and I have our tickets. Cannot wait. :cool1:

Chris and Deb, If if works with your schedule, we would love to meet you and your family that Saturday evening for supper. We can keep in touch as time gets closer.
