it seems like once we changed the October cruise (for timing reasons) to June...that it just keeps getting longer & longer. With the crazy airfare, we have now extended it 5 days...so we are gone 21 days:eek: 10 in in AKV concierge, 1 in Port Canavrel, 3 on the cruise and now 7 at BWV. I have never gone on such a long trip before

I cannot wait to hear how you liked your cruise

Hi Elin ...I:) am still planning on buying that wine gadget...but now I have found 3 more models to chose from...I am not good with all these choices...Bill on the other hand wants to know "why can't we just use the damn refrigerator"?

My next gadget:

My neighbors 2 dogs irritate the crap out of me with their barking...so this is the "Super Bark Free Bark Stopper" and they disguise it as a bird house :rotfl2:

Debbie...how have you been feeling? I have been thinking of you!!!! Bill is having a rough patch with the diabetes control. He was really doing well...fell off the wagon...but it has taken a lot longer to get in back down. He is almost there though

How's it going? What's going on with you?
Good here & busy as usual. I have it on my agenda today to start packing & get some stuff together for our trip but I have been procrastinating.

Wow that is a long trip. I am jealous!!! We had to do the same thing with the April trip. We are staying longer on both ends because of airfare..

So glad to see you posting.:goodvibes

 for you, Beth. I hope the weekend in Albany helps make you feel a little better. How sad for her family. :sad1:

Thanks!

Beth - How sad! I know you posted that he had multiple broken bones but it didn't sound life threatening! Good thoughts for your co-teacher, and for you!

It wasn't life-threatening, though he had many broken bones. He had surgery to repair the knees and either threw a clot or had a heart attack. He was brain dead, and the family had to turn off life support. Monday is my co-teacher's daughter's 7th birthday, so they are trying to keep things as normal as possible so that she doesn't have to always associate her birthday with her grandfather's death. They will have the calling hours Tuesday and the service on Wednesday. I'm not sure if my feelings come from the thought of losing my (much older than hers) parents or the fact that I'm only 14 years away from 58 myself. And, of course, I feel so badly for her and her whole family.

Hello folks....

just popping in to say "hi" :wave2:

:wave2:

Beth,
I am sorry to hear about your friends dad.

Thanks!

I really have to go and get the car cleaned out and packed up. I will be back Monday.

Hi Terry!!

I am really nervous about this cruise...having never done one before...I feel like I have no clue what I am doing...especially excursion wise. We did just get our passports in the mail...so I was relieved over that. Do you know what excursions you guys are planning on?

I cannot wait to hear how you liked your cruise

Here's a couple of pics of the newest addition...Bill's son had their first baby....he is very cute. They are having a tough time adjusting......he is not sleeping much at all. I don't think they anticipated how hard the first few weeks can be.

I've been doing quite well, better than I thought I would actually. I'm having some stomach issues now that we suspect may be gallstones. I hope that I don't fall off the wagon but I've been down the diet control road enough to know that it happens, I am very scared of diabetes though, I have seen first hand the terrible things it can do.

21 days of Disney, sounds like heaven to me. We've done the three day Wonder cruise, Castaway Cay was beautiful. We didn't book an excursion in Nassau, just got off the ship and went sight seeing on our own, I would definitely book something if we were to go again. We didn't book anything at CC either but had a wonderful time swimming and enjoying the island.

I remember being up on deck looking down and thinking that it would be a kid's paradise on board, they have the Pizza place on one side, the Burger place on the other, the pool in the middle with ice cream around the corner, all they had to do was get in line and order anything they wanted, they'll have a blast!!! DH fell in love with the chocolate chip cookies, they wer huge and delicious, not a great place to control your diet though.

What a cutie, and what a head full of hair, we make 'em bald around here.

Are they talking about gall bladder removal? I had mine out about 6 years ago...all things considered...it wasn't too bad. I am amazed by what they can do outpatient now.

I can't decide what to do in Nassau :confused3

I think diet control on the cruise will be rough....this is why we are not doing the dining plan at WDW. Bill becomes possessed!!!!

I go to the doctor Tuesday for the results of my last blood work, and we'll see what it says. We are going on a cruise in May and I've been looking at the menus, if I liked seafood it would be easier, almost all of the healthy menu choices are seafood. Have you checked out the Cruise boards for ideas for excursions? Cruise Critic has a section on their boards just for different Port of Calls. They are definitely going to ask if you want your hair braided in Nassau, I heard more than one little girl complain of a headache after she got her hair braided.

I'm only caught up to p70, but desperately need a nap! :faint: I got up at 5 today after going to be REALLY late (for me, these days). There was a mega "yard" sale at a local high school, put on by the West Chester Mothers of Twins (and more) Club. It was an absolute madhouse! I went to the grand opening of Ikea on Wednesday, and this place today was 10 times crazier! :rotfl:

I hope to catch up more after a quick nap!

Tammi-time change is messing with me too...
i just ran around like crazy and packed most of the stuff..i have a few things to pick up tomorrow and im set..this is way too soon

have agreat night all

I think you're gone today..... when you catch up, I'll just say i hope you guys had a wonderful weekend! :goodvibes

no thanks.

Knowing that I am in your prayers helps immensely.

I had a friend bring us supper...just because tonight. Not sure how she knew I had no idea what to fix at 6:15 for my family but we all ate to filling and it was yummy!!

What wonderful timing! I hope things are looking brighter for you! :flower3:

I have an interview Monday at 10:30am for an Internship in the NICU at Northside Hospital. They deliver more babies than any other private hospital in the country (12,000 the years I was there), and it's where I worked post-partum and where the kids were born. It would be 3 12hr night shifts a week. It excites me, but it scares the living bejeezers out of me at the same time. The NICU is a tough place. I know I'd be great there, but it such a huge responsibility taking care of those tiny babies who are so ill.

Ooh, how exciting! Good luck! I absolutely loved working in the NICU, but you're right -- it does have some challenging times. You'll be wonderful! :goodvibes

everyone.

Thought I should pop in so you didn't think I fell of the face of the earth. Hope all is well with everyone, plenty of good thoughts, and for all.

Hello! Good to see you around more!

I managed to get some pictures uploaded at naptime.

Wonderful pictures! We need to get together soon, while I can still leave my house! :rotfl:

Thanks! I showed Alyssa the pictures and she said, "Hey, why is Daddy's head cut off?"

:rotfl:

March 23 would be my dad's 69th birthday. We lost him 10+ years ago. It doesn't seem possible that it has been that long but I still miss him all the timem.

Advice please...

For Alyssa's Fancy Nancy party, I'm going to order pizza for lunch since Nancy, Alyssa, and most kids are big pizza fans. Do you think this is okay to serve to the moms in attendance too, if I also accompany it with a couple salads?

I know as moms that we get tired of pizza, but I'm also trying to be budget-conscious. I thought about wraps or deli sandwiches, but since two other moms are pregnant, I don't want anyone turned off by turkey (I don't have a problem eating it, but I know some people really watch what they intake while pregnant).

Of course, some moms might just eat dessert (cupcakes, cookies, and make-your-own sundaes). :teeth:

What do you think?

I think even serving pizza for the adults as well, is probably beyond what most would expect! Go for it!

Nick went to bed complaining of a sore throat. Hunter was in bed about an hour when he began complaining of a bad headache and a stomach ache. I really hope that they are not coming down with the flu. We don't need that.

I was sorry to read they woke up still feeling bad.... is everyone on the mend yet?

Good morning...

Jennifer- How is work these days? And more importantly how are you feeling? Are we ever going to see your belly?!?

Hi! :goodvibes Work is work. I am going to take my vacation the week after next, and nobody seems too bent out of shape about it ;) Kyle had an absolutely horrendous night on call last night (he still isn't home, and hasn't slept at all) ... I'm so thrilled for him that his vacation starts on his way home!

As for me, I'm feeling ok. The anemia is back (well, likely just still around) with a vengeance, so they upped my iron yet again and are watching me a bit more closely. My hemoglobin and hematocrit were quite low at the last check! I must say, I am feeling somewhat better though even on the current dose of iron -- I can't imagine how I might feel if I actually ever have the right amount of red blood cells and oxygen! :rotfl: I honestly think my PT exercises are helping a bit as well. I can at least walk without being miserable, so I'll take it!

At my last appointment I was "only" measuring 30.5 weeks (at 23). I'm glad things are tapering off, since I was up to 10+ weeks ahead at my appointment 5 weeks ago! I have gained a total of 9.5 pounds, which isn't great, but since the girls look fine and are growing well, they are backing off on the "yelling" at me to catch up! :) At this point, they will be happy if I can just gain on schedule, even if it means I might only end up 25-30 pounds above my pre-pregnancy weight. Heck, if the babies are growing, that's fine with me! :rotfl:

My mother has been diligent about taking belly shots, so maybe you'll see one eventually. I don't have a problem with them, I just find them dreadfully boring.

Tell Emma and Molly I said hello! :goodvibes And Lucy looks beyond adorable (as usual) in the latest round of pictures! I absolutely love the one with her tongue out! :lovestruc

:goodvibes That is so sweet, Robyn. She is loving it already. She wrote the copy for a $200,000 necklace  last week and is working on their newest Mother's Day campaign right now. I would think that very soon the words you read on their billboards will be hers! ;)

How exciting!

so yesterday I was headed to the mall. The car in front of me stopped all of a sudden. My mom was behind me and hit me. great huh. well the bummper got bent and I could not open the rear door on the van. well my brother managed to open the door and pushed down on the bummper so I would not have problems closing the door.

Well the sensor got messed up on the door. it thinks the door is open even though the door is closed. I hear a ding ding as I drive.

I sure hope Kia can reset the sensor

Oh no! I hope the mechanic can help you out!

Oh, it's a gray, dismal day here! We are getting a rain storm here that's supposed to last until mid-afternoon. I hate these kinds of days, but I remind myself that it could be snow! Rain is better than snow. Anyway, I'm hunkered down in my house with some music and the DIS. Not too shabby, eh? I also watched Monster-in-Law early this morning. Cute movie!!!! I started watching Napolean Dynomite. Could someone explain to me why my husband thinks this movie is one of the greatest ever made???? I only watched about 45 minutes and couldn't take it any more.

That is what our last few days have looked like. It gets almost depressing, but then - like you - I realize it could be much worse!

Robyn,
You make the cutest babies!!!!!!!!!!:cloud9:

:rotfl:

So true!

I hope the rest of you are doing well! I'll finish catching up soon! :grouphug:

For some reason I feel like we should get off the boat and do something...what that something is...who knows

We have no plans for Nassau. I think we are going to stay on board, swim, & enjoy the ship.

One of my obstacles is that Bill doesn't know how to swim if you can believe that! So that limits some of the choices...

heck we did the Breathless last time we were at WDW...and he was terrified that he was going to fall off the boat and die...granted, we are friends with the driver of that boat...so he was really going hard to impress the kids....so it was a tad scary

I go to the doctor Tuesday for the results of my last blood work, and we'll see what it says. Anyone on that has Glynis' recipe for Pot Roast. The one where you add the dry packets? I can't find it and we are hoping to have that for dinner.
