DDA Chapter 5

Thanks, Anne Marie. I FINALLY got in too. I wrote Disney an email earlier this morning. I cannot understand how a company that has made so many technical inroads into areas like Audioanimatronics and ride designs can have such a lousy website! :confused3

And such a lousy bus system. We had some really bad experiences during this trip. We waited over 30 minutes several different times. The part that bothered us was watching other stops get 3 or 4 buses with absolutely no one in line for them while we never got one bus. I mean come on, all the technology that Disney has and they have a man sitting in a van at the entrance to the bus area for Magic Kingdom. The bus driver stops at the van so that the man can tell them what stop to go to. Is that crazy or what?

I've read a tip that can help with black luggage. Stencil them. Maybe a Mickey head in a spot here and there. I thought next time I got a suitcase, I'd try it.

Chuck & I are going to try this before our next trip. Though, with Magical Express it isn't as big a deal for us right now since our luggage is picked up and delivered for us. I love this service. We fly out of small airports so it isn't usually too hard when we return to find our luggage.

Well, let me add another chapter to the drama that is my life.

We are taking our youngest DD on a cruise in May to celebrate her college graduation. Our oldest DD was not able to go along as they are not in a financial situation that would allow for a vacation, but . . . . . ., SIL's employer takes his employees and their spouses on a cruise each year, come to find out they are booked on the same cruise that we are taking, the would be embarking the day that we would be debarking. Sooo, I let my youngest decide whether or not she wanted to switch dates, the only drawback is DD's MIL is also going, and let's just say she isn't our favorite person. :rotfl2:

Anyway, we will be changing dates and going on the cruise with DD, SIL, and Brandon. DH asked him if he was going to Mexico, he said yes, DH asked him what is Mexico, he said I don't know.

Of course it's going to cost more and we have to wait another week for vacation.

Nothing ever goes easy around here

That will be fun to be all together (the MIL not withstanding).

Jennifer I just checked and I cannot find the Mickey sheets that we used. They were even altered to fit nicely over a double stroller. I have no idea where they are or even if we still have them. If I come across them I'll let you know.

Becky It must be a bit unsettling having a murder so close by and no one under arrest. :wizard: I hope that you all remain safe

Jennifer are you going to go with the DP in August?

I have made mostly lunch ADR's. I figure this will be a good way to get a break from the heat.

I am looking forward to breakfast at Tusker House & The Clam Bake at Cape May, these are both new to us & plus I will get to see all of you :thumbsup2

We really enjoyed our breakfast at Tusker House with the DDA in December and last week. We'll be doing that again and again. The Clam Bake was good. If you like clams and mussels, it would probably be fantastic.

Well, I got a lot done today but have much more to get caught up. I'm still not caught up on everything I missed while I was at Disney but have read everything since last night. I'm off to bed now.

Good Morning DDA,

It looks like a rainy day here today, work is going to be a blast, NOT, we have executive company coming in today.

Have a Good One

Jennifer prayers for your brother!

Hey Chanon I want some Girl Scout cookies :rotfl:

You having twins? :teeth:

:rotfl: I was going to say, it was actually a lovely gift for the babies. I think the girl scout cookies were also really for them, despite what Chanon says! ;)

And Chanon, there are plenty left.... but I've hidden them or Kyle will eat them all when he gets home from being on call! ;)

I know we were talking about airtran discount a few weeks ago...does anyone happen to have one? Im looking at booking a trip for this weekend!

Oooh, where are you going?!

Good Morning DDA,

Have a good day -- stay dry! :goodvibes

Jen - I don't have any discounts but if I get anything, I'll let you know.

Vicki - sorry about the bus service. How did you like OKW?

Jen those discount codes have expired now, sorry.

I know we were talking about airtran discount a few weeks ago...does anyone happen to have one? Im looking at booking a trip for this weekend!

How tragic & sad :sad2:

  I wish. I was highly suspicious that it was a high profile homicide and I was right. But I thought it was actually the next door neighbor, but either could be high profile. Police are guarding the two houses next to each other. Redner's is a grocery store chain in the PA area. I do not think it will quiet down for awhile. I am sad for their family.

Thanks Vicki, I am looking forward to both!

Becky - I don't think I realized how close to my sister you must live. That news story is very sad for the family and scary for yours, I am sure.

Jen
- good luck finding airfare. Have you tried Priceline?

Jennifer
- I always order GS cookies from my students if they ask. I brought home 8 boxes last night for Kristin to take back to college with her after Spring Break. She had to hide them from Bob or there would be none left by Sunday! :rotfl:

Tammi
- I am guessing that Capital Ale House is not at the top of your list of favorite restaurants, huh? We have never had a bad meal there and Bob and Kristin get the Wurst Platter a lot. Maybe it was the sauerkraut that did not agree with you...

I don't remember if I posted anything about a surprising conversation I had with Bob on Sunday. We were sitting on the couch watching the Food Network and he looked at me and said, "I am homesick for the Polynesian." He then started reminiscing about all the memories he had stored away from the 4-5 times we have stayed there in the past. His favorite vacation was in 1988 when we took both the girls and stayed on property for the first time and used the old Gold Key Plan (much like the Platinum Plan now, I think). That entire trip (no airfare, because we drove) cost us $3300 and at checkout we had a bill of $56 for incidentals.

I had no idea he loved it there so much! So, I emailed Miss Chanon yesterday and she has switched our reservation for September to the Poly. Bob's reply to my email telling him this was, "I wish we were leaving tomorrow." He has NEVER felt that way about a Disney vacation that I can remember!

Thanks, Chanon! :goodvibes

it might be not sure. Our Walmart only has 4 different princess ones and I'm not real crazy about any of them.

Jennifer -- if you want to use the cover for nursing, use it some before you leave. I once tried using one when I was nursing Jake (we were at the circus, and I was using it more to cut the noise so we wouldn't be as distracted -- I know, wishful thinking) but he hated being covered as he wasn't used to it and refused to nurse. I had to end up going out on the concourse to a first aid station where it was quiet.

Baseball and soccer were rained out last night, with the thunderstorms that passed through Sunday night/Monday morning. This morning, we have dense fog, and will be at 80 degrees by this weekend. The boys were excited they won't have homework most of the week as they are doing their testing. We'll see if Jake's soccer is cancelled for tonight. I bet it will be if this fog doesn't burn off in time for the sun to dry the fields out a little.

Have a great day everyone! :)

We, or I should say I want to try a few different restaurants in November, but there are a few that we love, and will definitely be going back to. We tried Biergarten on one of our family trips and we didn't care for the food at all. The only exceptions were the deserts, they were great.

I got my EOB from our insurance for the bill that was over $700.00 for lab work, our portion will be a whopping $7.91, it's a shame that they inflate the charges so much.

Hey Jennifer - save a spot for me in the van when you are going by in August and I'll stowaway, think anyone would notice? :rotfl:

Debbie - Yay for a low lab bill!

Nothing ever goes easy around here

Too funny! I hope you have a great time and can avoid the MIL! :)

It is funny now but it wasn't at the time. I was miserable! :rotfl2:

I am getting to the point where I can't do red sauce. We were talking about those spicy tacos before, and now I am having issues with spaghetti sauce. I can eat fresh tomatoes just fine, but red suce makes my stomach burn.
I am not a sausage & kraut person to begin with, and DS wouldn't eat anything like that so we have never tried Biergarten.

Becky - Yikes! I hope they can figure out what happened to your neighbor (and why). When we lived in FL somebody murdered the contractor who built our house. His wife hired a hit man to take him out!:scared1: I would be very nervous until they were certain that he was really the target, which he probably was. Although you don't usually think of grocery as being a violent sort of business.

It is very foggy this morning. Princess has a haircut and swimming lessons so I hope it clears off before we have to go out.

I got an e-mail this morning from the eBay seller we hadn't heard from - he says the lens is on it's way. Hopefully both will arrive by Thursday or Friday so DH can play with them on Saturday when he is off.

This time change is just brutal. It was nice to drive home last night and not be in the dark, but getting up in the morning is kicking my butt.:scared:
