DDA Chapter 4

The pork chops are simmering on the stove as we speak. It smells incredible. I seared the chops in a hot pan, and now they are simmering in a sauce made of teriyaki sauce, water, honey mustard, and balsamic vinegar. I added garlic powder, ground mustard and a pinch of cayenne pepper. Oh my goodness, it smells so wonderful. I've also got brown rice cooking to go with it.

I think freezing potatoes is a chancy thing. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't. Who knows?

That does sound good! I lurk on the WFD thread a few times a week. The woman who posts pictures of all her meals should get her own Food Network show!

Something orange was in my laundry. I have no idea what it was, it is gone, but it has left orange throughout all the clothes. I've rewashed and it won't come out. I've even bleached the orange that was on white. No luck. So many things are ruined, as well as one of Alyssa's favorite dresses. :( Any suggestions?

The only suggestion I have is to toss everything. I hate when that kind of stuff happens. Emma and Molly are notorious for leaving lip gloss in their pockets.

I swear, Matthew's getting barrettes, a purse, and a baby doll in his Easter basket. He fights with Alyssa over all the girlie things! :rotfl:

Jacob used to do that with all of Katie's stuff, too. Alan was really worried about it, but I told him not to worry. When Katie wasn't looking, Jacob would stomp on the doll. :rotfl:

Still no Kevin, so it looks like I'm on my own for bathtime. Hopefully all the tub toys won't end up in time out. :rotfl:

That sounds absolutely fantastic!

(Why haven't I gone for food yet?! :rotfl: )

Do you know what it was? Crayon? Marker?

Have you tried soaking things in Oxyclean? That worked really well at taking out red crayon that got trapped in my dryer.

Hey Tom, Alyssa says we're driving to your house tomorrow to "meet the pretty girl she never met." :goodvibes

Today, she's wearing the Winnie the Pooh denim jumper you sent us last year...you know, before you started your awesome homemade creations. :teeth:
Come on over... I'll be home!

I'm glad that she is getting to wear it. Leighanna only wore it a couple of times before she outgrew it! I knew you would give it a good home!

Becky! Yup, she's pretty incredible!!! The amazing thing is she has this total "one butt kitchen" and manages to turn out meals that look like they should grace some restaurant! Imagine what she could do with a real kitchen! I've tried several of her recipes, too, and they are all keepers!

That sounds absolutely fantastic!

If we lived closer, I'd be at your house in minutes ready to feed you!

I'm so sorry that you are in pain. I had something similar while I had my twin pregnancy. It was so bad, I couldn't walk at all for about a week. I went to a chiropractor and that helped for a while, and then physical therapy, and that helped for the rest of the pregnancy. Hopefully, it will help you, too!

Edit: WARNING! The following picture is not from my own home, and is not the name of one of my unborn daughters. Sorry for any confusion! :duck:

Aren't these adorable?!

Ironically, when I was searching for an answer to a craft project, I ended up back in the DIS archives for this. :rotfl:

Tomorrow I'm hitting up Michael's to get started on a couple names of my own! If they turn out half this cute, I'll share! :teeth:

I did some letters similar to that for Leighanna. It really helped her to learn to spell her name. She knew how to spell it at a really early age!:thumbsup2

We really should have suspected it and started PT long ago. My first OB just didn't listen about anything, so clearly something so small wasn't on her radar  Between genetics though (always having joints that are too loose, from my mother and grandmother) and dancing for so many years (ruining every part of my entire pelvis and how it aligns (or just plain doesn't), I suppose I was doomed. I didn't give it much thought for a while, but it can get really bad! They're going to order PT and x-rays at my next visit. We're hoping the x-rays don't show actual separation, tearing, etc, in which case PT should really help. I hope so! I am absolutely not a wimp, but this is ridiculous! If nothing else though, it will force me to stay off my feet. (Not that that helps, but at least it gives the illusion of helping! :rotfl: )

All this talk of baby names is bringing back such memories. The day we found out about the twins we started talking about names (we were driving to DL that night, so it kept us occupied and awake!). We settled on Mary Louise quite early. Mary was Alan's grandmother's name, and Louise was my grandmother's name. We thought that was a neat way to honor both of them. The other name took us most of the week at DL to iron out. We finally settled on Leslie, to honor Alan's dad, and Gayle, to honor my mom.

Once the babies were born, and we sent out birth announcements, we got a call from Alan's Aunt Mary (also named for his grandmother). She was thrilled with both names, but wondered why we chose Louise for Mary's middle name. We explained it was to honor the 2 great-grandmothers, and she told us that Mary's best friend for 2 years was named Louise. They were both performers with a traveling acting company, and they roomed together before Louise left the troupe to get married. At this point, warning bells went off in my head! I called my dad and asked him about his mother. Seems like his mom, Louise, was an actor with a traveling theatrical company. For 2 years she roomed with a girl she called "Mamie". I asked if that was her real name, and he poked around in his mother's journals and found out that her name was Mary Carling. You guessed it! Alan's grandmother and my grandmother were best friends for 2 years while they were performers! Small world, huh????

How cool!

We never had tub toys here. Bath time was for washing, not playing. In and out, no muss no fuss. I know...mean mommy!

Good luck!

I have no idea. Usually when something gets left in I find it in the bottom of the washer or dryer. Nothing this time. No paper, no container, nothing. I'm at a loss. It has the consistency of what dried on paint would be, but I haven't got a clue where it came from.

I will try Oxyclean tomorrow. I'm done for tonight. Did you have to scrub it to get it out?

Unbelievable!

Robyn, another great TR installment!

Elizabeth.... what can I say! I believe that you must go to MORON school to work for insurance companies.;)

Tammi, kids like the attention, don't they?:goodvibes

Leighanna had her choice yesterday between two entrees. Neither one she liked. The alternative is peanut butter and jelly. She HATES jelly on her peanut butter, so that was also a no go.

After taking Leighanna her cupcakes to school yesterday, I went to get into my car, and it wouldn't start.:confused3 I believe the alternator just went out!

So my car is in the shop today! Gee, another unforeseen bill in the works!

This is what I have been up to.

Not too early to work on summer stuff is it?

Very cute...as usual. :thumbsup2

Thanks for the suggestions, I'm off to rent a blow torch:thumbsup2

I have one or two that you can borrow :rolleyes1

Try hairspray and blotting. I also just read (on the boutique thread I think) to soak the items in a sink full of water with denture cleaning tablets. I haven't tried it yet, but it is on my to try list.

Jennifer those are cute. Are you going to decoupage scrapbook papers on them or perhaps wallpaper samples. Then use a sealant on them? :confused3

The first.... you are right on! You just use scrapbook paper (although wallpaper would add a neat finish if you wanted that instead!), mod podge and an xacto knife! :thumbsup2
