DDA Chapter 4

DH just called. He is off today but he had to go in for a meeting (they do that to him ALL the time  ). They FINALLY got around to drawing for the prizes they were supposed to draw for on Super Bowl Sunday. Prompt bunch of folks, I tell ya'!
So the prizes were flat screen TVs, dSLR cameras (better than the one DH has now), a suite at a TX Rangers game, all sorts of other really good stuff. So what does DH win? A tent, a lantern and a camping grill. We HAVE a tent that nobody ever uses, we have a camping lantern, and we have 2 HUGE grills on our balcony which I am sure our neighbors just love. We need to get rid of one but DH isn't sure he can get it down the stairs by himself. Anyway, he didn't even bring the prizes home because he doesn't want them. He is hoping to get someone to trade with him, but I bet that won't happen. If the people who won the cameras don't want them they will sell them, not trade for camping equipment. I hate that DH works so hard and he always gets the short end of the stick. He got nothing at the Christmas party because they ran so LATE and so far off schedule, and now he gets nothing for busting his tail for Super Bowl. Kind of sucks.:sad2:

Sorry about the less than satisfactory prizes. I guess the bright side is that they could not do ANYTHING for them - at least there's the option that he'll get something, and maybe his luck will improve next year.

Jonathan's old company used to be that way. His current employer is a firm believer in the motivating power of cold, hard cash. I like their way of thinking much better! :thumbsup2

 hope you get well soon. Olivia has had a runny nose all day. she has hardly ate or drank anything all day and has not moved off the couch next to me all day except to go potty. She says she doe not fel good but no fever or cough.

Sickies be gone! :wizard:

It was nice to see you too!!! No we are not food court people..Rarely use the foodcourts at all so that was my thinking too. I heard that some of the wing rooms can be quite a walk as well..too muc to think about!!!!
Ok for what my 2 cents is worth, I'd pick the swan for some of the reasons you mentioned. (starpoints, closeness to epcot for the F&GF, & easy transport to H.S. Also location to all the epcot & boardwalk restaurants.)

When I called they said only YC was available for my dates. I love my BC but since we are staying there for 12 days in August I figured we'd try something else for a shorter trip.

Yes, I'm still torn. I'm glad I have 2 weeks to make up my mind. I do like the idea of saving $60+ a night, though! Shoot, with that I could add the DDP! :rotfl: I did just read that the AKL is the "official" resort of the Minnie Marathon, so I'm asking what that means. I'm sure they'll be less disruptive than Pop Warner ;) , but if there's going to be a lot of "race" stuff around the resort that weekend, we might just stay with the Swan. I do love the AKL, though! Just wish it was savannah view.

Good luck as you still figure out your stay. Have you tried the Passholder website? You can play around with dates there, and see if you can get Pop or the CR to come up.

Have you checked ASMusic? The rooms have been remodeled recently and look nice.

True! We're going to try AsMu for 1 night before checking into the Swan or AKL since we arrive so late. Was able to get the $74/night rate on that one, too.

Bernadette, did you see that someone was able to get an AP discount on the family suites? Can't remember the exact rate, but saw it on one of the threads this morning. Thought you might be encouraged by that. :goodvibes

:sad1: i woke up to mom calling the vet to get shocker in. she can barely and i mean barely walk. she tries to stand up and she just collapses. her back legs cant hold her weight. the vet said she is neurologically fine and he saw nothing on x-rays and felt nothing. she is my little soldier she isn't whimpering or crying. he gave us anti inflammatory and said if she isn't better in 3-5 days to call them and they would see her again. we talked to the agency i got her from and hey said maybe a chiropractor so we might see if that helps. i am just crushed. i don't wanna loose her yet and i don't want her in pain.:sad1: :sad1: :sad1: :sad1:

Oh, no! I hope the meds do something for her. :wizard: :wizard:

For what it's worth, my boss had this happen with her dog (lab/shepherd mix) a couple of years ago. She couldn't stand for a day or two, but then was able to walk around, but doesn't have full range of her back legs. However, they waited to see how she'd adjust before even contemplating the thought of putting her to sleep. With some anti-inflammatory meds regularly, she's able to get around with very little problems, and seems to be perfectly happy. I hope this will be the outcome for you guys!

I am so excited. I am sitting here in the living room on the recliner enjoying my new laptop. I could not pass up the deal to buy it :goodvibes
I will have the other computer in the kitchen to use for major things, but this I will use for DISsing, playing Pogo, and chatting with my sisters cause this one has a camera that works properly. :thumbsup2 :woohoo: :cool1:

Very nice! :thumbsup2

I tried the passholder site before & all I can get is Wilderness Cabins.
Good luck with your decision!

Thanks Lindsay,
She took a 3hr nap this afternoon

Chuck & I aren't usually lucky when it comes to that either. One year they gave out all kinds of cool electronic devices like tv's, stereos, etc. and Chuck ended up with a mirror/shelf/coat rack. I have to say that I love it now that we have the breezeway. At the time, I wondered what in the world we were going to do with it.

The mirror has a deer and trees etched in it. It is in our Disney "room". Katrina and I decided we needed to do something to Disneyfy it. We made Mickey ears for the deer. It turned out really cute.

Oh man!!!!

Love this guy! I agree Deb, that did stink for Chris! :sad2:

He needs glasses for distance. He got a cute silver pair. I pick them up in a few days so he should have them for back to school on Monday. So now all of us have glasses except for Sophie.

I bet he'll look adorable. I am totally blind - my kids stand no chance. :rotfl:

princess: pirate: princess:
:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

It's great fun...but Daniel now wants a baby brother!!!!!!:scared1:

Well....hop to it, Mom and Dad! ;)

She is doing great. Just has been so busy lately.

We haven't even been able to go out for lunch this week.

Hopefully we can next week.

Glad to hear it, Terry. Tell her I said "hi"!

I tried the passholder site before & all I can get is Wilderness Cabins.
Good luck with your decision!

What are your dates again? I'll keep checking for you, too, when I'm playing around on there!

Chris' work used to have a picnic each year and each employee won a prize. One year Chris' name didn't get in the hat and all the prizes were gone so they gave him the hat :sad2:

Now, see that is something that would happen to Chuck & I. I have always figured that it is because we have such a great life that we don't need to win.

I bet he'll look adorable. I am totally blind - my kids stand no chance. :rotfl:

My kids didn't stand a chance either. Both Chuck & I are nearsighted. The chances are like next to impossible that they wouldn't have also been nearsighted.

Ok, one more pop outside to see the moon & we are all headed to bed.

Goodnight all!!!

Did you keep the DDP with your AP rate? It was crazy this morning. I tried to check on the passholder site an hour or so ago & it only gives me Fort Wilderness Cabins as an option!

I was going to ask how his appt. went. DS has an eye appt. next week.
The Passholder site is worthless. I'm sure it was overloaded today.

I wish they did cash or gift cards, but they don't. And by drawing tickets instead of awarding prizes based on who exceeded their goals by the greatest % it really seems like it hurts morale.

We got a notice today that DH's bank card is going up to 23.99% APR on April 1! :scared1: We'll be clsoing that account. He didn't verify that closing it will freeze the current APR - he will have to call them back tomorow and make sure he understands all of the details. What a mess. :sad2: We've never been late, pay more than the minimum each month, and he has had that card for a long time. I guess those Budget board folks weren't joking about bank cards just kind of going postal for no reason!:scared:

Must be the different times of the year that we go. Just this past Jan. the stops around Riverside were fast, and there never seemed to be anyone waiting most of the time.
Also we always leave before park closing, so no longs lines to wait in then either.

We have the same experience at Riverside except for after EMH or when the park closes.

Which reminds me, there are only two days left to make your gender predictions for Hardman baby #3. ;)

Hope everyone is having a great day! :wave2:

I got a flash of princess: but that was then overwhelmed by pirate: so I'm going with pirate: .

Terra is with Elizabeth and says it will be a pirate: or maybe a princess: . :rotfl:

Just ran out to check the lunar eclipse. Its alittle cloudy here so not the best view for it. The moon is beginning to go into our shadow (penundra) & will be at totality between 10pm & 10:51pn EST.

If you have a cloudless night where you are you can see Saturn to the moons left. we can't see it here, just the moon. The kids are so excited. The next lunar eclipse is not until December 2010.

We saw part of it. It's so danged cold that we only stayed out for a little bit. We were out at almost totality. Very cool looking!

What did she get?

We went to get Heart Puppy, but he was gone since it was after Valentine's Day. We could have ordered him unstuffed online, but Terra decided that the St. Patrick's Day bear was even better.

His name is Leaf Bear and she's enjoying playing on the new Buildabearville.com as well.
