DDA Chapter 4

Good Morning DDA

Got some new cough medicine cause the tablets just were not working. they were supposed to help numb the throat but that was not happening.

We are supposed to get snow today sometime. Maybe up to 2 inches but hopefully just a dusting. Right about time to leave work.

Have a good day everyone. :goodvibes
Hi Terry! Feel better soon!

Hmm. I am on hold with Macy's. I did an online payment on Friday and it still isn't showing. The payment is due Friday, but it should have gone through already. I made the mistake of signing up for "paperless" statements, which I hate. I will probably end up going to Macy's and making another payment just to make sure it is covered.
Grrr.:headache: The guy said the payment is "pending" and won't go through until the 22nd, which is the due date. Whose fault is that, I wonder? To add insult to injury I am locked out of my stupid account because it says I am entering the wrong password. :sad2: OK, whatever. I am going to Macy's now.

Received this email & thought it was cute :goodvibes

Kids and Grandparents

####
She was in the bathroom, putting on her makeup, under the watchful eyes of her young granddaughter as she'd done many times before. After she applied her lipstick and started to leave, the little one said, "But Gramma, you forgot to kiss the toilet paper good-bye!"

####
My young grandson called the other day to wish me Happy Birthday. He asked me how old I was, and I told him, "62." He was quiet for a moment, and then he asked, "Did you start at 1?"

####
After putting her grandchildren to bed, a grandmother changed into old slacks and a droopy blouse and proceeded to wash her hair. As she heard the children getting more and more rambunctious, her patience grew thin. Finally, she threw a towel around her head and stormed into their room, putting them back to bed with stern warnings. As she left the room, she heard the three-year-old say with a trembling voice, "Who was THAT?"

####
A grandmother was telling her little granddaughter what her own childhood was like: "We used to skate outside on a pond. I had a swing made from a tire; it hung from a tree in our front yard. We rode our pony. We picked wild raspberries in the woods." The little girl was wide-eyed, taking this all in. At last she said, "I sure wish I'd gotten to know you sooner!"

####
My grandson was visiting one day when he asked, "Grandma, do you know how you and God are alike?" I mentally polished my halo while I asked, "No, how are we alike?" "You're both old," he replied.

####
A little girl was diligently pounding away on her grandfather's word processor. She told him she was writing a story. "What's it about?" he asked. "I don't know," she replied. "I can't read."

####
I didn't know if my granddaughter had learned her colors yet, so I decided to test her. I would point out something and ask what color it was. She would tell me and was always correct. It was fun for me, so I continued. At last she headed for the door, saying sagely, "Grandma, I think you should try to figure out some of these yourself!"

####
When my grandson Billy and I entered our vacation cabin, we kept the lights off until we were inside to keep from attracting pesky insects. Still, a few fireflies followed us in. Noticing them before I did, Billy whispered, "It's no use, Grandpa. The mosquitoes are coming after us with flashlights."

####
When my grandson asked me how old I was, I teasingly replied, "I'm not sure." "Look in your underwear, Grandpa," he advised. "mine says I'm four to six."

####
A second grader came home from school and said to her grandmother, "Grandma, guess what? We learned how to make babies today." The grandmother, more than a little surprised, tried to keep her cool. "That's interesting," she said, "how do you make babies?" "It's simple," replied the girl. "You just change 'y' to 'i' and add 'es'."

####
Children's Logic: "Give me a sentence about a public servant," said a teacher. The small boy wrote: "The fireman came down the ladder pregnant." The teacher took the lad aside to correct him. "Don't you know what pregnant means?" she asked. "Sure," said the young boy confidently. "It means carrying a child."

####
A nursery school teacher was delivering a station wagon full of kids home one day when a fire truck zoomed past. Sitting in the front seat of the truck was a Dalmatian dog. The children started discussing the dog's duties. "They use him to keep crowds back," said one child. "No," said another, "he's just for good luck." A third child brought the argument to a close. "They use the dogs," she said firmly, "to find the fire hydrants...

Good morning, DDA!

:wizard: :wizard: :wizard: for those still feeling under the weather today. I know I'm nursing a headache myself, and just feel "off." When will it ever end for everyone?

Jennifer - glad to hear you and Kyle made it safely this morning. Be careful out there! Good to hear your appt. went well yesterday. I placed those coupons in the mail to you yesterday, so hopefully you'll have them by Friday.

Marci - congratulations to Jake!

Theresa - I hope Jim gets to feeling better (or gets over the hypochondria ;) )!

Becky - loved the thing you posted about the couple. :rotfl:

Janet, Anne Marie, and Bernadette - it was lovely seeing you on the Codes board early this a.m. Why am I not surprised that we were some of the 1st people on it? If only I'd called before, instead of after my shower, maybe I wouldn't have such disheveled hair today. I was almost late for work after being on the phone for so long!

And, it was nice for Elizabeth to check-in on us as well. ;)

Anne Marie - for what it's worth, I'd be torn right along with you. With your group, I could see the 2 bathrooms and just more beds/space at Pop being a nice thing to have. At the same time, since you solely use Disney transportation, I could also see the benefits of the CR. Are you guys food court people? If so, I'd give the nod there to Pop - with the temp location of the CR's quick service area, they just don't have a ton of selection. Plus, I think the pools are themed better at Pop. And you might still have a bit of a hike to transportation from the wing rooms at the CR. Good luck with your decision!

I'm holding an AKL std. reservation for now. They didn't have the savannah view available, but they did have pool view. I never get lucky with upgrades, so I should just decide which one I'd be more interested in - the more I think about it, maybe pool view, just because then I'm more certain as to where the rooms are located, and it's only $10 more. I've had some std. views I didn't mind at the AKL, but I did have one once (just for 1 night) that was right in front of the bus stop. I was glad we weren't staying a while!

Funny, I'm kind of torn now with my Swan reservation. I didn't want to stay there initially (I still prefer a "Disney" resort), but I had gotten used to the idea of being close to Epcot during the F&GF, trying out one of their restaurants, plus the other Epcot-area resorts, etc. I also like that we would actually get frequent stay credits there with Starwood (when will Disney do something like this? ). And those Heavenly beds! Oh well, I have 2 weeks before I have to make a deposit on AKL and decide.

I hope Jim feels better!

PD to you and Leighanna!

I'm glad the fever is gone. Hope you feel better ASAP!

Amy -- I hope you are feeling better!

We got a call last Friday that Jake is getting a citizenship award today at the 4th 6 weeks ceremony at school. :yay: It's been hard keeping the secret, and it's only been 5 days.

Have a good day everyone. :)

That is quite an honor. I would have trouble keeping that a secret too. We won't tell ;)

Nope nothing.

So right now I have 2 rooms at Pop for $984 ($196 per night).
If I book the CR (garden view, garden wing) its $1541 ($308 per night)
Is it worth $500 more or should I stay put?

since you just said that you were trying to spend less money then you should absolutely stay at Pop. 2 rooms will be nice and you'll be at WDW...that's really all you need.

Anne Marie - like you mentioned - you could stay at BC for less than the rate at the CR! I know the AP rate there is $259/night for a standard view. Did you guys just want to try something new, or was there another reason that escapes me as to why it was Pop vs. CR?

Now this makes sense! I agree with Lindsay.

How is Alan feeling today?

We got a little bit of snow last night. Today the sun is shining, but it is cold!

Good morning! It's a gray, cloudy day today, but no snow is in the forecast. I have absolutely nothing to do today except fold and put away some laundry. I think I'll go watch Blades of Glory.

Have a great day y'all!

Terry sorry to hear the meds are not working. A few years ago I had a terrible cold with a cough that would have me up all night. My Dr. prescribed me some cough medicine that had codeine in it. He said it would help me sleep, wrong! I was wide awake & so upset that I still could not sleep. That was the 1st & last time I took that.

I can't take anything with codeine now, gives me the worst headaches!

Hope you are better soon :wizard:

Well gee seems I am the only one telling you to stick with PC :rotfl:

ETA: I see others are swaying towards PC now :)

My friend just called (the one we are going to see in Disney in Aug) & I asked her what I should do (pop or CR) & of course she said CR!:rolleyes1

Very good points :thumbsup2

Good luck with your resort decision! It was nice seeing you all this morning :goodvibes

We are both feeling a bit better. Alan even managed to make it to work today, so I have the quiet house to myself. I'm pampering myself with tea and honey for my throat. It's still scratchy, but not sore. Thank heaven for Zicam!

I did that once with the boys & it was so hard not being able to talk with them about it. But it was worth it, the looks on their faces at the airport were priceless :goodvibes

now to keep it a secret from Olivia

Blades of Glory was quite a funny movie! I don't usually like Will Farrel, but this was really funny!

Now that it's over, I'm not sure what to do with myself. I think I'll probably just veg out with my computer and a good book.

Glad to hear Alan is on the mend, now take care of yourself & feel better soon!

I PM Robyn for tips to keep Virginia occuiped, but any body else want to give tips I would appreciate it.
