DDA Chapter 4

Oh yea, thanks for the reminder!

Tammi - everything is good to go; an email should have been sent to you with seats.

Janet - don't forget to email me at work. :teeth:

...anyone else buy Airtran flights over the weekend?

Princess isn't feeling well today. She doesn't seem to feel HORRIBLE, but she isn't quite her chipper self, either. Dadboss said she ran fever over the weekend, and she has a nasty sounding cough. I guess I will phone her Dr. and ask if they want to see her. I doubt they can DO anything, but maybe they will want to make sure it isn't something that needs antibiotics.:confused3

I am getting so aggravated at a guy on the Collectors board. He is basically saying that pins are far too expensive so everybody should just go ahead and buy counterfeits from eBay and trade them with a clear conscience!:headache: He just popped up a few days ago. I tend to think he must sell fakes on eBay.

I see a Visa code has come out for free upgrade to hopper & water park passes. I am still waiting for a room only code!

ETA: here is the thread if anyone is interested.

Thanks for this, Janet!
We're not going during those dates, but I like to see the new offers. I guess if I was already going and already buying passes then I would go ahead and get the upgraded tickets, but it wouldn't be enough for me to book a whole new trip.

Hope princess feels better soon!

Well that person sounds like a real winner  I keep looking at Disney shopping for the pins, but I am trying to resist lol The boys did not trade very much in Dec., so I think they have enough for Aug. I plan on going to the Disney Store this weekend, if they have any pins on sale I will grab them(this is where I bought pins from last year & made out like a bandit!).

:wave2: Hi, Penny! Good to see a post from you.

Hey there & thank you. I love reading this board but find it so hard to keep up with as everytime I come back to it there are 4 or 5 new pages :surfweb: and then I get behind and then I get lost :scared1: and then, I just give up.:rolleyes1
I am going to try harder this time though. LOL
Penny:hippie:

Good Morning. All is relatively quiet on the homefront. Hunter woke up with a slight fever and headache, but Motrin seems to have done the trick :thumbsup2 Logan has a bad cold which he blames on me :lmao: He's probably right as he sat with me most of the day Friday when I wasn't feeling well. Tomorrow Colby and Nick have dentist appointments in the morning. My cousin has asked me to watch her 2 kids on Wednesday and Thursday morning and DSIL is taking her kids to Connecticut for 2 days so I will still have 5 kids :confused3 for the mornings anyway. Today I'm taking the kids bowling, one day I will take my 3 to the movies and I think I'll take all 5 swimming on Friday. That should spice up vacation a bit for them. More work for me, but hopefully they will behave better.

Deb I hope you survive the week! Sounds like you have good plans though to keep everyone entertained :thumbsup2

so who else has off tomrorow? Do you have anything fun planned?

I wanted to go out with friends tomorrow, but i still have 101 temp and figure its not the best idea..so im thinking a day in bed watching movies may be in order!

Sounds like a pretty good plan for the day! I hope you have some good ones. Take care of yourself and I hope that the fever goes away!

Tia- I can't remember if I commented on Terra's party but you did a fabulous job!!! I love the cake and the plates were very ingenious! Happy Birthday Terra!! :cake:

Thanks! The funny thing is that the plates were actually Terra's idea. Well, she thought of making the plates, but she was thinking we should draw on them. I convinced her that marker and crayon under our food probably wasn't a good idea and that's when I thought of this idea. I was surprised and how hard it was to find clear plates, though. The party store was the only one that had clear ones with no designs molded in.

Don't worry about getting too lost.... if you do, just jump in and say hi! We'd rather have you around at all, than not around because you aren't "up to speed" ;)

It's good to see you!

It's good to see you, Penny!! Always feel free to just jump in. We're just happy to see you when you can stop by. I  your avatar!! Mom, DD and I are big Figment fans! Hmmm, maybe a Figment birthday party next year. :scratchin

Thank you Chanon! I got the emails.

Hello, DDA!

I have been trying to read along, but it seems like there just aren't enough hours in the day.

Denise, pixiedust: for John! I hope that you get some good answers very soon. You have had so much to deal with. I also hope that everything works out with the neighbors so that you don't have that added stress in your life.

pixiedust: for everyone else under the weather!

I am back to trying to plan a cross-country trip. I'm trying to figure out how to find hotels and know that they aren't dumps. I think I have a tentative route to CA, but I need to work on my route home. I think I'll have about a week in So. Cal. How many days should I use on Disneyland and what else shouldn't we miss? We definitely want to go to a beach while we are out there.

Hey, Cincinnati folks! I think we want to stop around there for our first night. It will be a long drive that day (9 hours), but I want to cover a lot of ground the first day, since we don't really need to see much between here and there. Any recommendations for hotels/activities?

Next will be a stop in St. Louis, but I think I want to drive some more that day, too, and make it to somewhere near Springfield, MO.

Another long day could get us in the vicinity of Amarillo, TX.

Then on to Las Cruces, NM area with a stop perhaps in Roswell, NM for a little sight seeing.

From there, I want to get to the Sonoran Desert Museum, but I'm not sure where to stay.

Finally, on to Anaheim.

What do you think? Too much driving each day? That would get us out there in a week, and I don't think we have much more time to add to that.

Oh well, I'd better stop dreamin and go clean for a while.

Have a great day, DDA!

Good morning, DDA!

Elin - I hope that your voice comes back in time for classes today.

Tammi and Janet - congrats on the good airfares

All kids home today - Enjoy your day (or week) off! Take it easy on Mom and Dad!

Rachel is off today, but we don't have much planned. Just a little clean up and then she's going to a friend's house. I am working on Spring Break plans though as my aunt, 2 of her kids and her grandson are coming for part of the week. I wouldn't be surprised if another aunt and 2-3 more cousins come as well. We're trying to work it so that at least some of my mom's step-sister's family can come meet us for the day as well since they don't live very far from us. Now to just get everything worked out.

Have a call in to my PCP about John. He saw her NP on Friday (the one who ordered all the blood tests). I explained what is happening and that I'm really worried. She's going to look at everything, talk to the NP, and then call me back.

Very weird, he could taste strawberry milk this am (1st thing in 4 weeks), but then it went away after a few seconds and he's tasted nothing else since. Thanks for the prayers and adding him to the prayer lists!

Oh, and thanks for the CODE! I have a call in to our TA to see if it helps or not.

Don't worry about getting too lost.... if you do, just jump in and say hi! We'd rather have you around at all, than not around because you aren't "up to speed" ;)

It's good to see you!

I'm lost all the time these days! I agree that you should just jump in when you are able.

If your in St. Louis for a little bit, we'd love to meet you!

How much driving do you have planned per day?

As for Anaheim, I would definitely allow at least 3 days for DL if you can. One day at the beach...I would recommend going to Balboa if you are staying in the Anaheim area. Consider checking out Knotts in you have an extra day and the money for another admission. Also, what about going down to San Deigo Wild Animal Park for one of the days? Are you interested in Universal at all? If you are interested in several of those things, I would highly suggest checking out the SoCal City Pass. Right now the details are:
The 2008 Southern California CityPass costs $247 for adults, $199 for kids (ages 3-9). This pass bundles admission to Disneyland plus three other major attractions, and is valid for 14 days. First day of use must occur between 1/3/08 and 1/5/09. It includes:
3-Day Disneyland Resort Park Hopper Bonus Ticket (includes one Early Entry to Disneyland)
1-day admission to Universal Hollywood
1-day admission to SeaWorld San Diego
1-day admission to the San Diego Zoo OR San Diego Wild Animal Park

According to Mousesavers, if you order the CityPass through ARES travel you get a small discount. It's probably worth figuring out if that's a good deal for what you all would enjoy. If you don't want to do all of those extra things, then DL offers specials often where you get 5 days for the price of 3, etc. That would give you more come and go options to mix in with your other plans.

If you want to spend a day sightseeing, I'd consider going down to Hollywood Blvd area to see the Walk of Fame, the Chinese Theater, Griffith Park (Disney's Carolwood Barn is there as a museum), and some other "LA" type of places.
