DDA Chapter 4

I was catching up and wondering the same thing, Chanon!

This is sooooo exciting!!!!! That's what I would want! :lovestruc

Really? I guess that would have been an interesting question as well, when everyone was posting guesses. I assume most would have wanted B/G :)

Well, as Elizabeth eluded to, our weather in Big D today is certainly not ideal. Cold and VERY rainy. My body seems to automatically wake up now at 5:30, and I laid awake for almost an hour watching the lightning storm and listening to the rain. We do need the rain, so I guess there will be something good to come of it. The weatherman was predicting hail and strong winds for this afternoon last night, but right now, it's just kind of drizzly.

We had to take and drop my car off at the dealership this morning - some part of my OnStar equipment has to be upgraded. On the way home, we stopped for Chik-Fil-A for breakfast - YUMMY!

Now, just catching up on things, and I think I'm going to call and finally get my dining plans for May readjusted. Other than that, I also need to do some house cleaning today (ugh, but it needs it). Tonight, we're going to go to dinner for Valentine's Day - there is some place near downtown that Jonathan just loves (they serve lots of wild game, etc.). I found that they participate in the Restaurants.com gift certficiates, and back when they were running a ridiculous promo in Jan., I got some $25 gc's for $5! So, even if I'm not a huge fan, at least we won't be shelling out a lot of our own $$!

We also found out last night that Jonathan got a big work assignment he was going for. It's a pretty big deal as far as company-wide exposure and advancement goes, and they only select one person nation-wide to do it. I'm very proud of him, although it means I won't see a lot of him for the next month or two!

Good luck to Jonathan, and to you for getting through the next few months! I never see Kyle, so maybe we can keep one another company! ;) Enjoy your dinner (or at least time out) tonight.... don't you love those GCs?! We have a ton sitting around, I should look at them again. But the price is so good, it's impossible not to stock up, especially when they run their 60% off deals!

Congrats to Jen & Kyle....I am happy to say my baby radar is right back on track!!!:goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

I'll have to go back and look at when that conversation was taking place.... I know VERY few people have guessed correctly (here or IRL). Did you chime in then? I know another baby-gender psychic will be a little disappointed (sorry Heidi! :flower3: )

Congrats Jennifer and Kyle!!!!!!

Congrats Jennifer and Kyle.

Thanks!

Well, we still have a CM telling Bernadette there will be DDP for APs so there COULD still be something. So far I have looked on about 6 other sites and e-mailed a couple of "insiders" in addition to calling Disney myself and I have come up empty. :confused3

Of course for all we know that CM could have misunderstood or misread something herself!

I haven't ready any of this, but from the conversation here I assume they will now "offer" it for people staying without packages, who have APs (like they offer it to DVC members staying on points). I bet it will be the same options, same prices, etc. And I agree with your sentiments about "big' announcements -- that would probably be big enough to create all this hype, from what I've expereienced

I registered 4 hrs ago with Airtran from the link Janet sent me. Still no coupon. They better hurry and email it to me. The offer expires tomorrow!

I have been registered with airtran for years, and got no coupon. I wonder if they only sent it to certain people? I hope not for your sake -- the deal still sounds pretty good though that you found!

Sneaky!!! ;)

I really wasn't sneaky! I even made sure to post one last time before leaving (actually several last times, with Elin) so it would appear while most people were catching up. Everytime I would check in before I fell asleep there would be nothing! Of course, that was only about 10-11am (that I checked... I slept until after 3 ), and even up until 3pm we've only had about 5 pages. I think most people are just busy this morning/afternoon! :teeth:

Good morning. :)

Nicholas has his black belt test at karate today. He is very nervous about it. If you all wouldn't mind throwing some pd his way, I know he would certainly appreciate it!

:wizard:

From what I understand, there is rumor that DDP would be offered free for those with AP's???? :confused3 So I'm wondering if you have to be on a package to take advantage of it, if it does happen.

I like this rumor, though I haven't heard it. :wizard:  that it's true.

So am I the ONLY ONE who noticed Jennifer's ticker???!?!?! Or am I missing posts?!?

CONGRATS JENNIFER AND KYLE!

That is so exciting. Now we can all shop or maybe even do some sewing :cool1: :cheer2:

That sounds like a great opportunity for Jonathan. :wizard: that all goes well.

Nicholas is now a black belt!!!!!

And we are done with karate!!!!

That is awsome. What a huge accomplishment. Congratulations Nick!!!!!

I'm off to sleep now! I am all caught up on the thread. I don't think I'll get on in the morning and it is a 8 hour drive home. I am going to sleep in and take a leisurely drive home. I'll stop at my mom's on the way if she is home. Talk to you all tomorrow night!
Travel safely! And your advice, I thought, was spot on. I'll post more about that later. And I hope Chuck feels better. When is the Table Test?

Well, I'm finally caught up inbetween the final prep work for Terra's party. I've got one decoration that I'd like to make if I have the time. Otherwise, we're mostly set. The Disney Store had the perfect shirt for her to wear so I didn't have to design that, but I have made the picture for the plates, goody bags, crayon labels and playdoh labels. I need to get the cake baked here in a minute so that I can decorate it tomorrow. I've also got a little clean-up today. I was wonderfully on schedule until several things this afternoon/evening threw that off. Oh well, I shouldn't be too far behind (knock on wood).

I did however get catfish at Cracker Barrel for dinner as part of the messed up schedule was that I had to be out of the house somewhere, anywhere, for a couple of hours. And since fried catfish and perfect biscuits go along way to help stress, I'm doing great now. ;) Even better, it was a kid's portion so I'm not off track on calories!

Alrighty then...I'm off to back and them off to bed.

Oh yeah, I've got to put the Buzz patches on Terra's jeans. Can't forget that!
The party sounds wonderful! I can't wait to see the pictures. And the catfish from Cracker Barrel is my fave!

hi everyone-
I just got home from teh concert and am just checking email and catching up here before i go to bed..
I had a blast at the concert! Carrie Underwood seemed to have a sore throat, but still sounded pretty good--keith urban was just amazing! The concert went til amost 1130--it was great!
But it was a long drive home and its after 2---im headed to bed! getting up at 8 for my massage!

have a great night!
Sounds like a great concert. Enjoy the massage.

Just as an update, my email address changed quite some time ago. I thought I posted a change on here, but maybe I really didn't (we're talking probably at least a year ago). Thanks Chanon and Amy for bringing it to my attention!

The only email address I really check at home is jn.kaufman@yahoo.com. If you have been emailing stuff, I'm sorry!

Denise -- also, I really didn't get the email you sent about your friends. Amy pointed out that it went to an old address, but even when I searched there I don't see it. Just wanted you to know, in case you were looking for a reply! :goodvibes
Thanks. I will change it! And I'll send you and my friend another email so she has the correct one too.

Ok, maybe this only matters to Denise, and maybe even then only ever so slightly....

But I have just found out I've been living under a rock!

Tom Glavine (one of my all-time favorite pitchers) and Javier Lopez (the first love of my life (Kyle knows ;)) have both rejoined the Atlanta Braves! Holy cow! It's like old, championship-winning times! :yay: :yay: :yay:
I know, how cool is that! Eveyrone here is buzzing about it. Go Braves!

Well, I can't take it easy too much. I start recitals again at 10:15. I am judging and playing concerto accompaniments for 7 hours today.

But there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Bob and I had asked Kristin to go out to dinner tonight after I am done. One of our downtown restaurants (Caroline Street Café, Tammi) does a special dinner for certain holidays, Valentine's Day being one of those dates. They extended the offering for Friday and Saturday evenings as well this year. When I saw their chef's choices I decided we would give it a try tonight. My boss and one of my co-workers said it sounded like a nice end to the day. Since the 3 of us are very good friends and our DHs get along so well I invited them and their spouses to join us. So, we have a party planned for 5:30 tonight before the madness begins tomorrow morning at 10:15 again! :rotfl:
Have fun at dinner, and I hope the recitals went well. Feel better too.

Well it seems that I am finally feeling ok. My fever broke sometime Thursday afternoon. I honestly think it all stemmed from just being run down. I have been asleep by 9pm the past 2 nights and slept til 7am both mornings. It's been ages since I've slept that long. I think everything just finally caught up with me. Now I need to get the energy up to face my house.

Today Molly, Lucy and I are headed to a baby shower for my sister's best friend. Molly will then head home with my mom and sister to spend the night there. Emma is spending the night at Allyson's house tonight. She is supposed to be over there at 2:30 this afternoon. I have a feeling that we will be getting a call later this evening. Emma is very excited about going but I fear that it may just be too long of a time for her to be there before they actually go to sleep. I guess time will tell.

Not much else on the agenda. I will probably come home and want to take a nap. Off to get ready for the day.

Have a great day!
I'm glad you are feeling better, and I hope Emma enjoys the sleepover!

I can not believe I feel lousy again today. I must have overdone it yesterday.

DH is sick and the kids all have sniffles, coughs, goopy eyes and all sorts of crud but it doesn't slow them down enough. They are actually being really good right now so maybe they will let me take a little nap on the couch.
Get well soon!

So am I the ONLY ONE who noticed Jennifer's ticker???!?!?! Or am I missing posts?!?

CONGRATS JENNIFER AND KYLE!
Congrats! What wonderful news. princess: princess:
Hi Ya'll,

I went to the Dr yesterday and got some meds. Yeah the flu bug got me. Spent all night coughing. Hope this goes away soon. I want to be able to watch two of my grandsons on Thursday.

Hope everyone else gets better soon too.
Yuck, the flu is really bad this year. Feel better!

Well, as Elizabeth eluded to, our weather in Big D today is certainly not ideal. Cold and VERY rainy. Congrats to Jonathan on the assignment. Have fun at dinner!

Nicholas is now a black belt!!!!!

And we are done with karate!!!!
WTG, Nicholas! Quite impressive! :cool1: :thumbsup2

She's with her dad, but still running a fever with a sore throat. It stays down with motrin, so that keeps her from feeling sick. Thanks for asking.
Hope Alyssa feels better soon too and enjoys the time with her dad.

Elin and Vicki, love the haircuts too!

Really? I guess that would have been an interesting question as well, when everyone was posting guesses. I assume most would have wanted B/G :)

I'm usually wrong about what people will have, but this time I found an outfit before Christmas that Just called out and sure enough it is pink :teacher:

Chris took the boys to bowling this morning and let me sleep in. Overall I feel better, but not 100% yet. The Vick's humitfier thingy really helped last night and I definitely slept better. The first couple of hours after waking up is a nightmare with lots of coughing, but after that settled down things improved. Hopefully the worst is over. My Mother has the vertigo today that I had earlier this week  I ran out and signed my life away to buy her some Sudafed as that cleared up my head. The stores here are packed like they were at Christmas :confused3 Traffic was horrible. I guess I'll stay in the rest of the weekend.

The weather here is beautiful today. 72 and just like Spring outside. The kids and I have been out here (I'm on the laptop) since 11am.

About the neighbor, I truly appreciate everyone's advice. I prayed about it last night and did a lot of thinking about it last night. I received confirmation from Webkinz that the $$ was taken out on Wednesday. I saw the neighbor outside today and went to talk to her. I told her I was sorry about confronting her abruptly yesterday and without really giving her a chance to reply. I handled it wrong, and I was sorry. She said her DD has been grounded with NO priviledges :rolleyes1 for 3 weeks so it wasn't her that took the $$. I said that BK only told her, but if she said it wasn't her DD then I would believe her and said I was sorry for wrongly accusing her. I said that I didn't want the girls sitting next ot each other on the bus as the things she has been saying to BK may not be inappropriate for HER DD, but they were inappropriate for BK. She said her DD has been having nightmares for weeks over the scary stuff she's been telling BK? :scared1: And I said then you think it's ok for her to tell MY daughter? I also told her that I had talked to BK and her DD on Monday to tell them she couldn't have BK's Webkinz. She kept asking BK every day anyway and then talked her into giving her the password for her account. Her mom NEVER once apologized for anything or for any of her kids' behaviors... :sad2: I told her that I wanted no animosity between us, that I had told my children they were to be polite to their family, if they saw her kids outside and I was out too, they could all play. She said that was fine.

It's amazing. She never took any accountability for anything (not surprised), never apologized, NADA. I personally feel better and feel like I was the bigger person, apologized for how I handled it wrong, etc. If I see her at the bus stop, etc, I will be totally comfortable with myself.

Then 30 minutes later her DH comes over to see John and talk sports like nothing had happened. The dad and kids were all waving at us outside, and the mom literally hid her head behind her hand. I think the mom is just :scared: . But it's over as far as I'm concerned. I don't think her DD will be mean to BK either. And if she is, I'll handle that too. Thanks again for all the advice.

Denise, I don't think she is sorry because she doesn't think she (or her DD) did anything wrong!:scared1: Or it's that backhanded apology "I'm sorry YOU think my child did something!" That was the sort of apology my father liked to give - HE was never wrong so he was never sorry.

Our weather is atrocious! The thunder is so loud things on my shelves are shaking!:scared:

Jennifer - Congrats to you & Kyle! I know different families with all 3 combos of twins so I figured no matter what the combo happened to be that you guys would be fine! I wonder if they will look alike?

Jennifer - Congrats to you & Kyle! I know different families with all 3 combos of twins so I figured no matter what the combo happened to be that you guys would be fine! I wonder if they will look alike?

Who knows! My sister and I, and Kyle and his siblings look a lot like one another (in our respective families). I have no idea if that will make a difference or not, but we'll see! They will absolutely have blue eyes, will almost definitely start out with white-blond hair, and will likely have at least some curls. That's our only predictions so far! :rotfl:

Denise-:wizard: and  for the entire fig family!

Tia-great link! Your party plans sound great! I'm sure Terra will love the pins. I think my kids only had about 6 or 7 traders.

Elin-:wizard: Hope the drugs work wonders for you today! Enjoy your dinner.

Jennifer-love your new signature!

Robyn-love your new signature! We need to see more photos from your trip. I've got your cd's ready to go in the mail-DH is heading to the PO right now. I'm so glad to hear you're feeling better!

Tammi-good luck to Nicholas!:wizard:

Vicki-drive safe!

WOW! Where did you hear that????

Thanks so much!!! I really need to work on a trip report.

:wizard: that you and everyone around you gets well fast!

Good luck with your nap! I was TRYING to nap on the couch but DS insisted on sitting THISCLOSE to me with a toy. The toy has about 400 little plastic pieces that he was rattling together. I asked him to 1) stop rattlling or 2) MOVE but he elected to ignore me.

I am thoroughly confused on the DDP for APs now. How can they require a package if a package consists of tickets and room? I figure they will just sell it to AP holders and not require more tickets. BUT they could still require paying rack rate for the room!

Molly sounds a lot like DS. She's not happy unless she is sitting on top of me.

Hi Ya'll,

I went to the Dr yesterday and got some meds. Yeah the flu bug got me. Spent all night coughing. Hope this goes away soon. I want to be able to watch two of my grandsons on Thursday.

Hope everyone else gets better soon too.

Get better fast! :wizard:

This is sooooo exciting!!!!! That's what I would want! :lovestruc

Until they become teenagers!

I love talking with John, but sometimes he talks geek. I so totaly don't speak or understand geek, so I just pretend. Is that bad? :confused3

Nope, I think they forget who they are talking to. Eric does it all the time.

Nicholas is now a black belt!!!!!

And we are done with karate!!!!

:cheer2:

You practically were! I changed it while Tammi was catching up this am, and before several others did. Some even talked about changing signatures, etc.... Beth did PM me because she logged on just for a minute (didn't have time to catch up just yet) and noticed it.

So Robyn, at the point which you asked -- no, I wasn't enjoying taunting you, but I was enjoying laughing at you! ;)

Thank you, Chanon! :goodvibes

Glad I could provide some humor! I am so thrilled for you and Kyle.

The weather here is beautiful today. 72 and just like Spring outside. The kids and I have been out here (I'm on the laptop) since 11am.

Good for you Denise. I am glad that you feel comfortable with your decision. Way to go.

:rotfl:

All 3 of mine have blue eyes, I really would love to know where they came from.

I have really been off my game. But I am sticking with a boy for my cousin, will know in June.

I know another baby-gender psychic will be a little disappointed (sorry Heidi! :flower3: )

All 3 of mine have blue eyes, I really would love to know where they came from.

That's so interesting that they all do! Blue eyes are one of those few genetic things that have a lot more than just dominant/recessive, more simple factors.... so I think you can "get" blue eyes countless ways. But Kyle and I both have blue eyes, I don't think they have a chance not to!

Genetics are a funky thing. When I was little my hair was very light blond. My eyes are blue. My mother has dark brown hair and brown eyes, my father had brown hair and hazel eyes. My sisters both have brown hair and brown eyes. None of us look much alike. I guess my sisters look more like each other - they don't look like me.

I mentioned the other day how my mom has 2 sisters, and all 3 of them have 3 daughters. In each set of 3 one of the girls is blond. None of the parents are blond. Not sure about eye color.

DH is a redhead (back when he had hair, anyway) with blue eyes. DS is blond and blue eyed with blond eyelashes, which he got from DH. My eyelashes are dark. Of course we are all HORRIBLY fair skinned. DH is freckled. DS gets a little freckled in the summer - mainly across his nose. It fades in the winter, though.

The twins I know the best are a set of fraternal boys. They resemble each other but I could always tell them apart.:)

As you can imagine not much of a nap here.

We also found out last night that Jonathan got a big work assignment he was going for. It's a pretty big deal as far as company-wide exposure and advancement goes, and they only select one person nation-wide to do it. I'm very proud of him, although it means I won't see a lot of him for the next month or two!
:woohoo: Congrats to Jonathan! Have a nice dinner tonight!

Nicholas is now a black belt!!!!!

And we are done with karate!!!!
:woohoo: :woohoo: WTG Nicholas!!!!!!

I've never heard any misinformation from any CM.:lmao:

No, I really didn't! :rotfl: My last post was marked at 8:35 (DIS time, who know if it's right... but close). After that, I saved it, uploaded it to photobucket and changed it here. I would say 8:45am at the latest, I swear! I've been sleeping almost all day since then! (C'mon iron... Jennifer needs to feel some life again!)
Can't believe I missed it.

Congratulations!!!! My bosses secretary is grandma to girl/girl twins. They are about 18 months now and SO cute! They certainly have their own personalities and have since day 1.

Glad you're feeling better. Hope your Mom is better soon!

I personally feel better and feel like I was the bigger person, apologized for how I handled it wrong, etc. If I see her at the bus stop, etc, I will be totally comfortable with myself.
Good for you! I'm so glad you're feeling better about it.

I'm sure they will. My girlfriend and her DH both have blue eyes and all 3 of their kids have the clearest prettiest blue eyes. I had heard that the blue eyes needed to be on both sides but we can't figure out who had them on my side. I never would have guessed I would have 2 blonde hair blue eyed girls. I think Lucy's hair is going to stay darker then Emma and Molly's. Genetics are funny!

That's so interesting that they all do! Blue eyes are one of those few genetic things that have a lot more than just dominant/recessive, more simple factors.... so I think you can "get" blue eyes countless ways. But Kyle and I both have blue eyes, I don't think they have a chance not to!
