DDA Chapter 4

I wanted a girl. We did find out that DS was a boy at the ultrasound, so at least I had time to get used to the idea and decorate his nursery and buy him some clothes. We knew we were only having one, so whatever we got was all we would ever have!

Princess is my 3rd girl - the other 5 (including DS) have all been boys. I love girls, but when they get to be a little older I think they are harder to deal with. On the other hand, Sister was a snot because her parents ALLOWED that behavior. One of the boys I had before her was that way, too, because his mother allowed him to be disrespectful and rude. Princess is still little enough that she is just cute and funny. I also don't think she will be exposed to a lot of inappropriate TV to fuel bad behavior when she is 4 or 5. Her parents are very serious about not letting her get started on bad habits that will come back to bite us in a couple of years. DS is a snot because he is 12. He isn't always a snot, though. :)

Wait until he turns 13. I cannot STAND any of my 13 year old male students. If I don't kill them before they turn 14 then all is well again!

Hi, everyone. boys have their Cub Scout meeting here in 40 minutes and BK and I have to go pick up her 175 boxes of Girl Scout cookies. I have NO voice today at all (which John is loving) and feel cruddy (TOM is here too and NOT helping). We are supposed to have violent thunderstorms later this afternoon. I probably won't be back on today as we're having movie night tonight and watching Snow Buddies. Have a great day.

I am voiceless today also, Denise. I hope you get to feeling better and enjoy your movie night with the family.

A job well done on the canopy and rain cover for Colby's chair, Deb!

I am DONE with recitals for the weekend! YIPPEE!! I have lots of paperwork to do tonight and tomorrow morning, but plan to spend a little time relaxing and deciding what I want to eat. I am hungry and have no desire to cook or go out to dinner or order in. Ought to be interesting, huh? See you all later!

They are off for Presidents Day.

We are not going to far away. I got a package deal at a nearby casino(the hotel is separate from the casino) that includes our meals for 2 days, vouchers for the snack/coffee shop, & vouchers for casino play. We do not plan on really gambling, I want to go shopping! :rotfl: One of the meals is a nice sit down, I made reservations for that for Friday night(we get $100 off the meal, I'm sorta scared about their prices :scared1: ). Anyway it will be nice just the two us getting away.

Are your boys off tomorrow? DS has school, but Princess is off.
Of course DS needs more shorts!:rotfl2:
I hope you feel better soon! Where are you going next weekend?

Heidi - Your dinner sounds good! I didn't go to the grocery store today so we will have a rough week on the dinner front!:scared:

Sounds like a bowl of cereal for you! :rotfl:

Just you wait! :rotfl:

Perfect.

That sounds like it will be nice! Hopefully your dinner won't cost TOO much more than the voucher will cover!
DS was off for President's Day 2 years ago. Then they decided last year that since TAKS testing for certain grades starts that week that the kids need to be in class Monday so they will be focused for the test on Tuesday. I don't even know which grades have the test - apparently NOT 6th graders because I think the teachers would have mentioned it! He doesn't have any days off until March 10, which is the first day of Spring Break.

Tammi did you get your flights booked?
Yes, I did! :yay: I got 5 r/t tickets from Dulles to MCO for a total of $395. Thank you and everyone else who helped me with the codes!

Elin & Denise hope you both get your voice back :wizard:

:cool1:

That is an awesome price! I paid almost that for one way for the 3 of us. I budget $200 per person RT, if I go under that I am a happy camper.

I hope that you are feeling better in the morning. We had a crazy few minutes of rain this morning! It has been spinkling some when I went to get gas. The second I walked into the house it went from light sprinkles to torrential downpour and the yard covered in pea-size hail. It was nuts for about 5 minutes and 10 minutes later the glare of sun off of the car was blinding me. :confused3 Hope you guys stayed safe!

Good evening everyone! Somehow this got to be another long day and I am tired. I really need to get some exercise in though as I was too busy with party stuff the last two. Guess I had better get up and get in there before I talk myself out of it again. I'll be back if I can.

Just realized I missed my personal milestone, 14,000! I edited my post :thumbsup2

Katrina and Becky look so much alike that when they are seen by other people that know one of them, they hear "You must be -insert other's name- sister". It drives them crazy. It used to happen mostly to Becky because she was the younger sister. Now that Becky is older and has lived here without Katrina for several years and Katrina is back going to school, Katrina is getting it a lot in the stores, etc. It drives her just as batty as it used to drive Becky. Though secretly, they enjoy it but they can't let the other know that.
Sounds like my sister & I. She worked at Babson when I was a student there. So I was 19 & she was 25 and people would start talking to me and I'd say I think you mean my sister and they didn't always believe me.
I don't think we quite look like twins now but I think you'd know we were sisters. Here's a photo from Emma's christening and I could resist posting a photo of my happy baby. My brother Joe (who looks more like my Dad was the Godfather.) Emma was 3 months old.

Kathrin has a new apartment. It is in Brookline, MA and right on the "T" so transportation is not a problem at all. One of her roommates is a third year medical student and the other is the owner of a "hedge funds" company. She met the med student... the businesswoman is in Ireland on vacation this week. She is very pleased with the situation since it is a sublet that will be done in September. She can continue there or move onto something else if necessary.
:woohoo:

I will chat with you all tomorrow. We are meeting my parents for breakfast tomorrow morning at 8am. Nothing like getting up at the crack of dawn on the weekend. And since Emma and Molly are gone I'd definitely be able to sleep past 7am.
Hope you had a nice breakfast!

I could but we are staying on pts. and I'm trying to conserve as many as I can.
I thought she was suggesting you fly home late in the afternoon the day earlier.

Ok, I'm in need of all your favorite CS or cheaper TS locations. We are trying to plan some places to eat in June if we can talk my sister into eating out. We are doing CRT for breakfast one day. We'll probably do Ohana for dinner one night for the ambience. We are trying to avoid the family style or buffets because of the cost.
I would say the same as everyone else-Columbia Harbor House, Cosmic Rays, Main St Bakery for breakfast, Flame Tree BBQ, Sunshine Seasons (good for breakfast too), Tangerine cafe in Morocco. I will add Trails End at Ft. Wilderness-it is relatively inexpensive-I think $12.99 for an adult for lunch. The food is good and it is such a nice quiet escape from the busy parks.

And now for the party run-down!
WOW!!!! Love the cake and plates and well just everything!!!!

A nasty vomiting bug traveled through 3/4 of my household starting with Alyssa at 2 a.m. on 2/15, Matthew at 5 a.m. on 2/15 and finally me, around 9 a.m. on 2/15. I'm still not convinced Kevin is in the clear, but for whatever reason, he's still been spared. We had to delay our trip a bit, but we all seem much better, and we'll make the most of the two days we're here.
YIKES! Hope stayed healthy!!!

I have to ask, though... are Woody and Jesse in bed together?!?!
They are just friends you know....

Night all. I have strep and a sinus infection (gotta love those 2 year olds I teach), and I'm calling it an early night. Besides, we stayed outside almost 7 hours today. Phew!
YIKES!!! So much nasty stuff going around!

At least the sun was shining brightly today! Leighanna wanted to give all her Aunties and friends a big cyber hug![/IMG]
How cute!!! Can't help but smile when I see that happy face!

Good Morning DDA,
Love your new signature!

probably not since the "color coded matrix of fun" was coined by one of our own. I am pretty sure some of the humor would be lost in the required lengthy explanation. ;)
Actually it was one of my coworkers who coined the phrase. She was um...impressed with my Disney planning.:rotfl: She's a really great person and she litterally saved my but when I was out sick!

I have never eaten at B&C, with all the praise maybe I should add that to our Aug. list or maybe I could try it in May or maybe go both times :rotfl:
Emma & I would love to go with you in May. We'll have to compare schedules.

My neighbors did have another one in hopes of a girl and another one and another one. They ended up with 5 boys.
Someone I know had 7 boys. They had a boat called the 7 bouys. Her first grandchild was a girl. You should seen all the pink balloons when she was born!

In 12 days, we should be boarding the plane for our flight down.
:dancer:

When DS got his Wii for Christmas I had to take all of the framed photos off of the entertainment center so DH could get behind it and hook everything up. I JUST put all of the photos back.:rolleyes1 I replaced an older photo of DS with his new band photo, dusted all the frames, and managed to fit everything back up there. And it took less than 2 months to get around to it! Still haven't started on that pesky laundry.
I still haven't put the photos back up that I took down when decorating for Christmas.

BK and I have to go pick up her 175 boxes of Girl Scout cookies.

I probably won't be back on today as we're having movie night tonight and watching Snow Buddies. Have a great day.
Congrats to BK!!!

I gave the kids Snow Buddies for Valentines Day. They love it.

This is my BIG project for the weekend. I bought a $20 folding lawn chair with a canopy, used a dremel tool to cut the bolts that held the canopy on. I went to Home Depot and bought some new bolts, spacers, washer and wing nuts. Then Chris helped me drill out the holes a bit bigger and we reassembled the canopy on the wheelchair. We can take it off fairly easily since we used wing nuts
Great job!!!!

I wonder....am I the only one who doesn't know what a dremel tool is?

Thanks everyone on the suggestions for good times to eat at B&C. I might try this in May. I do not have a schedule to keep & I am sure I can fit it in :thumbsup2 Speaking of my May trip, Garrett told me I will probably stay in my room most of the time. I asked him why he thought that & he said because I will be lonely. I told him that yes I might get lonely, but there is no way I am spending all my time in a room! Besides Bernadette will be there & I will be calling home every night :thumbsup2 Not sure if he is worried about me or hoping I will ask him to come along :rotfl:
I don't think you'll be in the room too much! Didn't you go to the MK alone in Dec?

I am DONE with recitals for the weekend! YIPPEE!!

Sounds like a great weekend!

My kids have all of next week off for February vacation and then they'll get another week in April.

Yes, I did! :yay: I got 5 r/t tickets from Dulles to MCO for a total of $395. Thank you and everyone else who helped me with the codes!
:woohoo:

ETA: THIS WAS POST 14,000 FOR ME!
Congratulations!!!!!
