DDA Chapter 4

Jen - I have a little mouse attached to my laptop and I notice that sometimes my cursor will jump on the screen. Not sure why, but I bet that is what is happening to yours too. If I don't notice it right away I will be typing somewhere else on the page or not at all!

I had the best Valentine's Day present last night. When I got home Kristin was sitting in the kitchen with my dinner ready and a bottle of "Pinot Evil" Pinot Noir chilling in the wine cooler.

I had made both Bob and Kristin a large heart-shaped cookie and Bob stopped at the store and bought us a little heart shaped cake. He decided mine was the better effort. :rotfl:

But we sat around until about midnight talking about lots of things. It was just wonderful. :cloud9:

Has anyone here had the steak at Flying Fish? I have wanted to go there for a long time, but Bob just doesn't like seafood. I read a couple of reviews that said their strip steak was better than any other on the property, including Yachtsman Steakhouse!

AACK... what am I thinking? Another restaurant to add to our mix??!?!

Jennifer - I am so glad that you know about those little babies now. It sounds like they jumpstarted your enjoyment of the pregnancy with the revelation of the gender(s). As Elizabeth can attest, there is nothing that beats a shopping trip!

Can't wait to find out when you are ready to tell us. :goodvibes

I got a call from Joe's teacher that he hasn't been himself lately and today he cut a lamited number grid in the classroom. When I asked him about it he would only say "I don't know". His teacher thinks he'll be better after February vacation. I know he hasn't been feeling well (noone in this house really has). I had him write an appology but wish I understood what is going on with him.:confused3

Time for me to go take my antibiotics. They are making me dizzy and sick to my stomach. I think I'm going to try to go to work tomorrow. We got our bonus checks this week and unlike my regular pay that is a direct deposit this one is a live check so I would be nice to get that in the bank. I think it will be easier to go back for at least part of the day tomorrow and take care of emails and all that then to face it all on Monday.

OH....but I've got to try to make a few August plans so I can call for ADR's in the morning.

DS went through a weird phase about this point in second grade, but I think he was 8, not 7. Maybe Joe is just hitting that point a year earlier? I hope he is able to talk to you about whatever is going on. DS likes to tell me his secrets at bedtime, when he is already in the bed and should be going to sleep.

I think I might be calling for another antibiotic! I hope you feel better soon! :wizard:

Well I just got the kids settled in bed when Daniel runs down the stairs yelling that we forgot to see Betelgeuse (the Valentine's star) & Mars. So we grab our coats & went outside to see them. Mars is just to the left of the moon & Betelgeuse is just above Orions belt. It is a huge red pulsating star so it blinks....Very cool.

On the 20th there will be a lunar eclipse between 10pm-10:51pm.

The last time we saw a lunar eclipse was November 2003. We sat at the fountain watching it from the CBR.

Neat! I have never heard of that star!

Please pray for those who are affected by the shooting at Northern Illinois University....we have many friends who have children there and were absolutely shocked to get the call that this has happened. You can only imagine the fear and the chaos going on with these parents.

I thought of you when I heard about that! Good thoughts for those families!

That is a great gift, Lindsay!

Yay, spa!

What a nice evening! :goodvibes

Princess was very sneezy and had a runny nose yesterday after her nap, so we'll see how she is today. The pest control guy is coming and we need to go to the grocery, but other than that we have no plans.

Janet and Chanon - We need to book a trip to Disney ASAP! I had a dream that the 3 of us, plus my kids were riding Soarin' together and Janet was the winner for the night in the castle! Of course I woke up before we actually got into the castle. I guess I'm reading too much of the blog on Allears.
Lets wait until I get back from Vegas. I might win some money and then Bob won't have a problem with me going.
How cool! And Mom is coming to babysit... that is delightful. :rotfl:
:rotfl: Actually, she has a free car rental for us! Since she's out there, we also get a 'free driver' to Hoover Dam! :rotfl:

Ugh I'm sick  Chills or Sweats, fever, cough, sore throat and ear ache. Along with some body aches. I think it might be the flu :confused3 I haven't slept well the last couple of nights. I have medicated and hope that it kicks in soon as Hunter is in a mini play at 9 AM and he will be heart broken if I don't make it. My plan is to hit his play and pick up Logan early since I will already be there. I told my DB that either I get him early or he can get him himself. Early is fine with him :lmao: He was here yesterday so he has already been exposed. I think he will help occupy Colby's time and make life easier for me. We will all have a nap today though.

Let me ask you guys a computer question--i have no idea if this will even make sense..but as i am typing, after a few words, the letters i am hitting will go in the middle of another sentence--it seems to be wherever the cursor is pointing...Any ideas how to fix this? it is making it really ahrd to type!

I'm sorry -- have no clue. I hope re-starting helped.

Another busy night here. When I picked the kids up Alyssa complained of a sore throat. They wanted to go to the roller skating party that there school was sponsoring so we got there a little after 6. Alyssa complained again about her throat, but she wanted to stay. I could have taken her home and had another mom bring Nicholas home when it was over. So when we finally do get home and I get her inside I could tell she was running a fever. It was 101 so I got some ibuprofen in her. Now she is sleeping here in my bed. I hope it's a peaceful night for her. The good thing is her dad is off tomorrow so she can stay with him. Plus it's a long weekend for added recovery time. I just wonder if it is strep and if I should get her into the ped tomorrow.

I'd take her to the ped. It's a simple test, and if she does have it, she'd be on the road to recovery quicker.

I have thoroughly enjoyed reading about all the wonderful Valentine's gifts. It seems that our signigicant other's did a very good job, but I'm not surprised.

I had bought Chris several kinds of chocolates and delivered one box to him at work. The others he got after dinner. I also bought him a PS3 game. He was very happy. He and the boys went shopping Tuesday night and bought me a lovely silver necklace with a 2 heart pendant. That was placed around the neck of a stuffed monkey. When you squeeze it's tummy it whistle Whoot Woo and they made a little sign that says hubba hubba :rotfl: They also got me my own Webkinz. It is a pink poodle. The kids have had me playing games on their accounts and they say I'm addicted so they got me my own :lmao: The kids all had parties at school and they seem to have had fun. I made breakfast for dinner. I made heart shaped pancakes, crepes, eggs and ham. We had bacon too. My parents came down for dinner. It was nice and the kids loved it. We all ate very well. We gave the boys each a box of Andes cherry mints and each got a toy. They have all gone to bed happy :thumbsup2

I've been fighting some sort of cold or virus today. I had coughing during the night and have had a sore throat and aches all day. I'm hoping that I won't notice it tomorrow. Between Sudafed and ibuprophen I was able to function very well.

Hope you are better today. Edited... Just saw you are worse. Get a flu test to check and then tamiflu. It really cut the sick time when we took it last year. It sounds like a great V-day. WTG Brooks boys!

That sounds wonderful!

Yesterday was our late day in Dallas, as Andrew has band. We got home in time to get him changed to go to his baseball practice, and Jake and I made a quick run to the cemetary with flowers. Then we had dinner at SILs -- nothing very special, but better than fastfood.

Jake and I went home and watched TV, and Randy and Andrew got in around 8. Luckily, neither of the boys had homework (they had a jump-a-thon at school for SADS -- sudden arrythmia distress syndrome) so we exchanged gifts, the boys took showers and we all fell in to bed.

Jake and Andrew had already given me roses this week, and they each added to that. Jake brought home an additional rose that the mother's in charge of their party gave the kids to give to their Mom's, along with a small picture frame with a picture of him. He had made a potholder earlier this week in afterschool art, so he made a box out of his lego's to hide it in. He also wrapped two of his favorite rocks to give to me. He wants me to put them on my desk at work. Andrew drew me a card, and he and Randy also made me a photo V-day card which I love. Randy and I decided to be low-key, but he did give me a cute bra/undie set from VS.

The boys always have early release on Friday, so I always get out of work early on Friday. We'll run a couple of errands, then have a quiet night.

Not much on the books for this weekend, other than a pedicure for me tomorrow. I hope to also start the de-cluttering/clean-out of my house this weekend.

Have a good day DDA!

So my mom was sick last week she called me last Friday to tell me that she was sick and running a fever. She had started feeling achy last Wed. then on Thur. she developed a fever. So Jeff and I rearranged schedules on Sat and his day off Mon he switched to Tues so I could work he worked Mon. Mom says on Wed. she is feeling better and can watch the girls yesterday. I get home at 815 last night and mom calls me and says around 4:30 she started feeling achy again and at 5:30 she took her temp it was 102:scared1: which for her is very high her normal is 97.6 same as me. Jeff did not pick the girls up till 6:45. So I might have to call in tomorrow if she is still sick. We are supposed to go to Waco next weekend. I hope the girls don't get sick.

I hope the meds kick in and you can make it to Hunter's play. :wizard:

I kept feeling her throughout the night and she was cool to the touch, until about 5 AM. Then her fever started back up. This morning it was 101.8, so her dad is going to call the dr. Sad thing is I had to give him the ped name and phone number. :sad2:

Sounds like you had a nice VD week and got lovely gifts as well!

that is sad. Jeff has the afterhours number in his phone he might even have the office number.

So I think on Monday a trip to the Disney store might be in the works for a new toy for Olivia.

I told her if she slept in her own bed by herself all night that she could go to the store and get a new toy.

Well since Sun. she has slept their every night of course Daddy was snuggling her and reading her a story Sunday night and he fell asleep in their with her. But she slept in her room all night did not throw a fit about it.

Good Morning DDA!

Sounds like everyone had a great Valentine's Day! I had to work last night so I took DW out for lunch.

Leighanna has her Valentine party today. She is excited! She made up all of her classmates cards all by herself. Now mind you, I can't read half of the names she wrote, but she clearly can tell you which card goes to each of her friends. She did pick out Disney cards to give out. That's my girl!

Here is a picture of her this morning.

Yes! She likes Snoopy too!

Have a great day friends!

 I hope you get to feeling better, Deb. Does sound like the flu. Take care of yourself.
