DDA Chapter 4

You all know that Chris is as big a Disney nut as me and we indulge each other. Well he thinks that I've lost my mind tonight. I received my t-shirt order today so I started putting together outfits for our June trip. I figure that the kids won't need shorts until late May early June anyway. They have enough non Disney shorts to cover those few weeks. I needed to know what I was up against in the shopping and designing department. I need to decide which AK design I want to use and get that printed and ironed on. I also need to print out the Mickey Swirl design and iron that on. Then I need to create some sort of Patriotic Design for the 11 of us for the Campground Parade and our Fireworks cruise. I'm anxiously awaiting the new HS parade as I'm sure there will be new and different characters and I will need to make additional autograph pages. With less than 20 weeks to go, I can't wait until the last minute...can I :rotfl:

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Things just continue to get worse here! Alan was supposed to be home at 6:30, but he's still not home (9:17). He has called me, though, so I know he's ok. The freeway is still closed, and we have white out conditions with strong winds blowing.

The worst is that there are 10 school buses full of children that never made it home from school. The roads were too icy, and were being closed down. Kids stayed on the buses from 3:30 to 7:30. As of now, all the buses have made it back to their schools, and the kids are now inside the schools. Kitchens have been opened, kids have been fed (a lot of staff couldn't make it home, either), and now they are bedding down in libraries and classrooms until parents can be contacted. Parents are allowed to pick up their kids as they can. Can you imagine how scary for those kids? These are all elementary age kids!!! I'm so grateful that my kids made it home from school!

Alan is hoping to make it home by 10:30, but I don't know if he will or not!

I hope to read that Alan is home. But, I think the kids will be OK...

When we lived in rural Ohio and Kathrin was in first grade we had a freak blizzard come up without much warning. The kids were kept at school and the Red Cross brought in blankets and things like that and the school became a huge sleepover. She still talks about how much fun she had that night. I bet the teachers and staff still talk about it too, but not because they had a lot of fun... :rotfl2:

Good morning, DDA!

I can't imagine how scared I would be if my children were caught in a storm like this, :wizard: I hope to read soon that Alan is home safely.

Glad you had a good appoinment. If your 18.5 weeks and there are 2 babies shouldn't you measure 37 weeks?:rotfl:

Hi!

oh my gosh, thankfully no! :rotfl: Actually, I'm told the average measurement throughout twin pregnancies is usually only up to 6-8 weeks ahead. Maybe these babies are going to be enormous like the babies Robyn's friend had! Thank goodness we're electing a c-section anyway! :rotfl:

I haven't said much about it because I can't look at the big picture, it is just too much. So I took Elin's advice and set small goals for myself, and am proud to say that I have acheived goal one. Now on to the next one. . . .

I haven't had a regular soft drink in three weeks, which for me is unheard of, I had to keep pulling up the jeans that I wore today, by the next mini goal I will have to put them away.

I have been craving chocolate, and ice cream, so today at the store I found Breyer's Carb Smart, no sugar added ice cream. I still have to have a small portion, but it was like heaven in a spoon, YUMMO!

I keep telling DH that I promise to try, and I can only take one day at a time.

Congratulations, Debbie! It really sounds like you are making great strides! Keep it up! :wizard:

Forgive me, I have read everything but I just don't have the energy to respond individually.

's and :wizard: to all in need.

It seems that I have the flu. The funny thing is my only symptom is the chills and fever. I don't feel sick. But I am headed to bed in a bit to see if I can sleep it off. I seriously doubt that my DH will be all that happy but I don't care, he'll just have to deal with it! I am short on patience when it comes to dealing with him the past few days.

I hope you are feeling great this morning, and don't get really sick! Get some rest when you can!

Well, winter has returned! We have had 4 days of sunny, warm weather and it lulled us into a false sense of Spring! We are now in the middle of a blizzard. Alan just called to tell me that he was on his way home, but the freeway has been closed down due to an accident and it's been closed so long, people are now running out of gas! Alan was hoping to get around it and get home, but then got diverted to another accident about 30 miles south of us. Don't know when he'll get home now.

I HATE WINTER!!!!!

I couldn't agree more! :guilty: I'm glad Alan got home safely last night!

Well, I'm back, but guess no one else is. The good news tonight is that I finally (I hope) have a paid (hopefully) deposit on our trip reservation!! The hope part is because the reservations people were giving Chanon a heck of a time processing the deposit with my gift card. According to the woman at the gift card line, there shouldn't be an issue, but apparently the reservations people aren't sure what they are doing. Either way, we're finally one step closer to making a trip!

Hooray! It will be here before you know it!

How cute!

Happy Valentine's Day, DDA!

I don't think it has been announced yet, Anne Marie. Everything I have read says "spring 2008" with an opening of "late 2008" which could mean just about anything! :confused3
Very true Elin!

I love your new picture!

Hope everyone got home safe & sound. I hate snow.

You do. :teeth: They were trying to put it in as a rewards card - I repeated like 12 times that it's a GIFT CARD and they finally got it.

Morning DDA and Happy Valentines Day! I hope the weather is at least sunny all across the US for everyone. :teeth:

Bob (and the cats!) got me an adorable card - and now I'm gonna be late for work.

Have a great day!

Tia, YAY for a deposit on your ressie!!

Good morning, DDA! Happy Valentine's Day!!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Kevin and I exchanged cards this morning. He gave me last year's card, which he found in his desk recently. :rotfl:

In my card (for him) I wrote, "My real list--only one--Kevin M. Hardman" :lovestruc

He laughed and said, "Not true, but you can fib on Valentine's Day." :teeth:

Hope everyone has a great day. I have lots of laundry and packing to do for our weekend trip.

:cool1:  :dance3: I figured that was the problem. Just had to find the person who would finally listen!! Thanks for all of your work on it!

Good morning, DDA!!! And a very Happy Valentine's Day to you all!

 :cloud9: How sweet! Too bad he didn't buy it. ;) Maybe you should start a manilla folder on him. Then, he'll really know! :thumbsup2

So, Glynis, I'm guessing that the storm means the kids are home today and you don't have to have special breakfast ready at dawn. Hope you get to enjoy the day.

Good morning DDA. Thank you all for the get well wishes last night. I woke up this morning with a lovely 103 degree fever. Surprisingly I still don't feel horrible. But I am taking it easy today in hopes that I can finally kick this. Last night I went to bed at 7:30 and woke up this morning at 6:30. I can't remember the last time I slept that much.

Bear with me as I rant a bit- So I closed down daycare, which has upset just about everyone. It really infuriates me that when I close and believe me it ain't very often, I get all kinds of guilt and sob stories. I understand it is a huge inconvenience for all involved but for crying out loud I deserve a small amount of respect. I didn't close down because I broke a nail. What makes me upset is that not one parent has a back up in place. But again somehow that's my fault! Normally I would get my sister to help out but she has pinkeye and my niece has strep throat. So I seriously doubt that they should be around the kids.

Back to your regularly scheduled Dissing!

I may pop back in a bit after the girls get off to school. Have a great day.

Hooray! That sounds wonderful. Small changes add up quickly, so keep setting those small goals and you'll see great results. You can do it!

That's beautiful! I also love your sig change!

Back-peddling, hugh? :rotfl: :goodvibes

Robyn -- hope you are feeling better!

I got in from my hair appt. last night and found roses that Jake had picked out at the grocery store for me and put a note on them. Of course, Andrew was at Kaleo, and when he got home an argument ensued because Jake forgot to put his name on the note. I assured them I love the flowers and knew they were from both of them. :lovestruc

Have a great Valentine's day everyone!

Robyn you made the right decision to take the day off & the parents should understand. Do not let them make you feel guilty, do they want their children to get sick as well :confused3

Get lot's of rest today, hope you are feeling better soon :wizard:

This may be way off, but beings you are only running a high temp, might you have some type of infection?
