Thanks, Elizabeth. I agree that money isn't everything. If it were, I wouldn't be a teacher!

She realizes it too. She is making good money now and not liking her job much these days. The non-profit agency that offered her $15,000 more than she makes now is not her first choice because she fears she will soon tire of writing the spin required. It is also located outside of Boston in Lexington. Her dream is to live and work in downtown Boston. The second company, her favorite (and mine as you will soon see

), is located in downtown Boston with a younger staff and a chance to be very creative in her writing. I think that if they come back with anything additional she will be writing about these little baubles from Hearts On Fire:
BEAUTIFUL! Has she made any headway on the decision or heard back from the other company?
Debbie -- keep at this scrapbooking... each page is better and better!
Thanks, everyone, for the good wishes for Kathrin. She is understandably very excited and very scared right now. Although she worked practically full-time the whole way through high school and college (her choice, not ours) and lived in a dorm for 3 years and on her own in an apartment or house for the past 6 years, she has never really lived away from us. I don't consider a little under an hour's drive far away. She realized on the drive home from the airport that she was "leaving home" in a month. That has to be scary for her. I know it is for me! Within the next 4 months or so, Bob and I will truly become empty-nesters (God willing on Kristin's part!!

), I guess. Wow... the possibilities are endless!
Phil Says Six More Weeks of Winter!
Phil's official forecast as read 2/2/08 at sunrise at Gobbler's Knob:
Here Ye! Here Ye! Here Ye!
On Gobbler's Knob on this fabulous Groundhog Day, February 2nd, 2008
Punxsutawney Phil, the Seer of Seers, Prognosticator of all Prognosticators,
Rose to the call of President Bill Cooper and greeted his handlers, Ben Hughes and John Griffiths.
After casting a weathered eye toward thousands of his faithful followers,
Phil consulted with President Cooper and directed him to the appropriate scroll, which proclaimed:
"As I look around me, a bright sky I see, and a shadow beside me.
Six more weeks of winter it will be!"
I'm sorry, but I hate that groundhog!
Guess I need to learn how to erase too.
Robyn - We went to Cafe Brazil. It's a local chain. I had the French Toast with fruit. HUGE portion of melon, strawberries, bananas over French toast with raspberry cream sauce. It's my favorite. They also have an awesome self-serve coffee bar.
We should go there when you guys come to Dallas.
That sounds absolutely delicious! I'm starving!
We've always wanted to adopt, and if things don't work out for us to conceive naturally, we'll go ahead with it.
If we lived farther away from Lydia and her family, I would do it in a heartbeat! However, there's just too much potential for heartbreak this way. My cousin and her husband adopted his sister's baby, and that was 10 years ago. The sister and mother have not spoken to, or visited Brent and Mindy since then. I just couldn't handle that.
I know that Lydia and Brandon will find the perfect couple. They are putting a lot of thought and prayer into their decision. They may have started this out in a bad way, but they are doing everything they can to make it right.
I'm glad to hear they are handling this very well... I continue to pray for the whole situation!
Well she best get over it soon! She did fine the first couple of nights home so I am hoping the bedtime issues are more her teeth and reflux issues. It's also very quiet in here right now- which is unheard of in this house. She loves to people watch so she is bored, I'm not that exciting.
Who's gonna be our designated driver?
I'm pretty sure I could do it. I spent my whole weekend mothering a bunch of drunks!
we got a taste of it last night....we had a thunder snow!! one particularly loud one shook our walls and the lightening accompanying it was BRIGHT!! like right across the street.
Did you mean show, or really "thunder snow"? In all the weather we get, i don't know that we've ever had that combo! It sounds cool!
Way to go! You got a lot accomplished, but - more importantly - your trip sounds like it's coming together nicely!
