DDA Chapter 3

Cassidy is signing up for next year's classes....she is in the top 40% of her class. She will be doing AP Chemistry AND honors IMP 4 (Integrated Math Principles) on the recommendation of the teachers. The kid didn't take Honors History this year because she didn't want to be doing homework all the time.....ummmmmm what does she think she is in for next year???:confused3 :rotfl:

She is also going to try and be section leader for marching band...I'm tired just thinking about it.

That sounds like a pretty serious workload! I hope she enjoys the classes enough to put in the effort they will require!

Debbie - What a sweet baby! :goodvibes

FREE FOOD! NO TRASHCAN INVOLVED!!

Remember that UPS box nobody was home to sign for on Friday? They just brought it back. It is full of....

CHIPS!:rotfl2: Signature required for a box full of CHIPS!:lmao:
And a little packet of "coupons" that aren't really coupons at all. It is a slip of paper that says to go to www.flatearth.com and print your coupon for a free bag. DH says the cheddar and the tomato ones are nice. The only ones I have tasted are the peach/mango and they are weird. They have powder on them like Cheetos, but it is fruity. So rush out and get your free bag, then be sure to go back later and BUY some like good little consumers. ;)

Thanks! Shhh! He doesn't know. ;)

That is awesome news! Do you get half of his prize? ;) Randy won't let his food touch, and he eats one thing at a time as well. And he wonders where Andrew gets his sensory issues....

Robyn, I almost linked everyone to that thread too. :rotfl: I also almost posted about my need to crush potato chips into little bits, but the CB intimidates me a little. :rotfl:

Elizabeth, congrats to C!

Welcome home Jen! How was Tampa?

Congrats on your new job, Karen!

Glynis, the sweet and savory ribs were a hit (though Kevin did comment they could be a little sweeter...nothing is ever sweet enough for him, not even me ;) ). Matthew gobbled them up, and even Alyssa cleaned her plate, though she had to be bribed with our long-awaited ice cream trip. ;)

So, off we go. Hope everyone is having a great night! :)

Amy -- love the newest pics of your cuties. You are so good about taking your kids -- will you come take mine to the photographer? :rotfl:

Denise -- I voted. I didn't realize you were keeping the brick a secret -- I'm impressed that you've held it this long!

Great scrapbooking pages Becky and Debbie!

We hit 82 today, and then we're supposed to get down in to the low 30s tonight. The wind was pretty bad this afternoon as well. Crazy weather!

Marci - Well, last year he got a ribbon and a trophy. Maybe I can convince him to let me have the ribbon this time! (I don't want to dust the trophy.)

I got this in an email today. I hope no one is offended but I thought I'd share it with you all...

OMG, I am crying. What a little boy he is!!!!! I am going to play this for my kids tomorrow.

I'm a New Yorker through and through, but every once in a while (especially during the cold, grey days), I get an urge to live somewhere else, too.

Oh, and I really, really wish they would stop referring to NYS as Hillary's "home state". She may be here now, but I'm sure she will be gone in the blink of an eye once she is done using us. (I hope I didn't offend anyone, but it is driving me nuts.)
Amen!::yes:: ::yes:: ::yes::

So we went to get DS and as I am sitting there in the carpool my phone rings. The lady identifies herself as being from the school, but she isn't one of DS's teachers. So I start to panic. :scared1: I am thinking he is either injured or ill, but at least I am RIGHT THERE.

Then she proceeds to tell me he is one of the Science Fair winners so we need to make sure to attend the ceremony tomorrow night!
I hate Science Fair, but it is gooooood to win!;) Heh heh.

I told her he is in the band so we were planning to be there anyway. :goodvibes
Congratulations!!!!!!!! How cool!:thumbsup2

Let me introduce my new great nephew, he was born January 29th.

Awwww. so cute! Congrats!!!

I didn't want to get up this morning either. I couldn't fall asleep and Colby woke up at 2 AM with his feet and legs aching. It took me about an hour to get him comfortable and not crying. Thanks to Motrin, heating pad and leg and foot massages. Once he fell back asleep he was fine through the rest of the night. I find these nights of broken sleep just don't cut it. Since we have been getting him up for the potty during the night for the last 2 weeks sleep has been very broken. I'm not a happy Mommy. I just can't fathom how long this is going to take as he just does not wake up and he cannot hold it for longer than 4 or 5 hours. He is nearly 5 1/2 and I would think that he is capable, but I guess not. We don't even let him drink in the evening (which he is not happy about ) Did anyone else have Night time potty issues and when did they resolve?
Alyssa is still in a pull=up at night, and she will be 6 in April. She was dry for a year at night and then she had all of her infections and can't seem to get the night time thing under control. She is doing much better during the day. I'm just worried that when it comes time for sleepovers this will be an issue. Nicholas was a breeze, and I was worried about him because of all the bad stories about boys and potty training. She is my hard one!

I'm still at a loss with the top that I made. I'm toying with the idea of buying a long tank top and making a fat belt with the material to tie my outfit together with Chris'. I never realized how fussy I was about tops until now :lmao: I think I'll try to find an olive colored tank or cami to wear under it first and see if that makes a difference. That square neck does not allow for a supportive bra and I am just too old to not wear a bra. Chris thinks it looks great, but I need support :rotfl:
This is why I don't sew. All that money and work go into it and then it just doesn't look right. At least if I try something on at the store I know whether or not it fits/looks good before I spend the money.

Elin, Tammi, or anyone else have you ever been to Williamsburg, VA? What about Busch Gardens?

We are thinking of taking a trip elsewhere(I know bad, bad, bad, lol)in the next couple of years. The area seems beautiful with lots to do! I think a visit to the beach would be in order as well.

So what can you tell me :)
I would say go for it. I haven't been to Busch Gardens in years, but they have some wicked roller coasters. There is also a water park nearby....Water Country USA. Williamsburg is full of history. There is also Jamestown nearby as well.

I have to say that for a Monday this day hasn't been too bad. Blasphemy, I know! It started out rough- Blackie dug a hole under the fence and got out. Emma let him in the front door and he jumped all over her. He was covered in mud. It was 10 minutes before she was to be picked up for school. I had to rush around and get her changed and then mop up the foyer and kitchen, muddy paw prints everywhere.

But the upside is, I bought tickets for the Hannah Montana concert movie, the kids haven't been horrible today, the county is in the water/marsh cleaning it out and putting up some type of rock wall from what I can tell   , and finally that is 2:30 so my day is nearing the end!
I was really torn about getting the Hannah tickets to take Alyssa but opted against it. You'll have to tell me how it is. I've heard that they screaming girls are awful. Not in the theather, but you can hear them LOUDLY in the video from the original concert. I'm guessing that this will be released on DVD in the stores eventually, and if so then we'll see it.

Congrats!!! That is great news. I ordered Nicholas petri/agar dishes so he will do his 'experiment' this weekend.

Congrats Debbie. That is beautiful.

I went to Target today & spent way too much money.

I am working on my August adr's. Waiting for TGM to do the crowd chart for the end of the month. I can't seem to narrow my TS down..I have too many!
No DDP this year though so at least I don't have to figure that in.

I did not watch the game or the commercials last night.

Ph yea, I am sitting here til midnight so I can book my Palo brunch!

That's it for now.

My mother used to talk to the mother of any friends if my sister was going to sleep over at someone's house. My sister would take her own sleeping bag (with a rubber pad inside). With pullups, this is something that Alyssa could do too.

He released Aug 1-15 today so it shouldn't be too much longer.

Thanks Vicki, that's a good idea. I'm sure there won't be any sleepovers until at least next school year, and with any luck I won't have to worry about it! :wizard:

For anyone who flies United.....have you seen this?

CHICAGO - United Airlines will begin charging passengers $25 to check in a second piece of luggage for domestic travel if they are not part of its most-frequent-flier programs, the airline said Monday.

The charge will generate more than $100 million in revenue and cost savings each year, UAL Corp. said. The change takes effect May 5 and applies to tickets purchased on or after Monday.

Travelers would have to log at least 25,000 miles in a year on United to ensure they can check their second bag for free.

Luckily, the morning has dawned with Terra doing much better.
Great news! Hope she sleeps well tonight!

2 good things happened to me this morning. 1) The payoff on the car has cleared so I don't have to send the payment for February!
2) When a HUGE sign fell off the wall at the grocery store this morning and pulled down some light fixtures I wasn't standing anywhere near it! And neither was anyone else, thank goodness!
It was a HUGE 12 foot section of signage above the meat case (the one where you choose the meats and they wrap them for you). The sign came off the wall and pulled down a bunch of flourescent tubing. A man had been standing there buying some steaks about 15 seconds before it fell. That man should go buy a lottery ticket today because he has some incredible luck! It was the loudest noise I have ever heard in a store. It is truly amazing that nobody got hurt.
Yeah for the loan payoff! Glad you and others are all safe!

Virginia is rolling over now front to back and back to front.

my back is feeling a little better now that I have been up for a little while and taken a shower.
Congrats to Virginia! Glad your back is a little better!

Bernadette- I am glad that border came back but now I need to go back through mine again!
Thanks! I added a few but need to go back again.

Congrats to BOTH of you!!!!

Robyn, I almost linked everyone to that thread too. :rotfl: I also almost posted about my need to crush potato chips into little bits, but the CB intimidates me a little. :rotfl:
Do you need to use windex so you aren't tempted to cook with them?:lmao:

So I haven't been sewing but I have been working on some other things recently.
Nice job!

Bernadette- I hope you got my thank you card. The kids love the coloring books you sent.

We have rescheduled for April 26-May 3. Hopefully, the P&PP will still be going on then too.
Yes I got your card. I'm so glad they enjoyed them and that they came at a good time.

Emma and I will just miss you-we arrive on the 4th.

Let me introduce my new great nephew, he was born January 29th.
Congrats! How cute! Love your page!!!

:figment: :figment: 3 months from today I'll be at Disney!!!!:figment: :figment:

I guess I should go to bed. I'm feeling lousy again  and I have an 8am dentist appointment in the morning.

We have been to Williamsburg several times with the last trip in 2004.
We stayed in Colonial Williamsburg in their hotel (I forgot the name) but it is meant for families & you can walk to it from the main street (Duke of Glouster street) or take their buses.

The kids love "Hoozah" which is a casual place to eat & Josiah Chownings for their food & "gambles" night. You have dinner while they bring you 18th century games to play at the table. Thye gave us peanuts in the shells that you had to place in a bowl..I forgot the game but I remember Sophie won & we had a nice time. The food is very good there & at the Kings Arm Tavern...the relishes & breads are delish! KA is more fancier than Josiahs but both are wonderful. We watched court in sesson at the court house. Real trials were being reinacted. A tour to the Capital building is great. I don't know if they still have this but we went to a "Capital Evening" where there was dancing, singing, & entertainments from the 18th century.

When Dana & I went before we had kids we stayed in the inns that they have right on the main street. The rooms were beautful. Merchants Square (next to the magazine) was our favorite. Once we had little ones we stayed at the family resort.

We have been to Busch Gardens. Very clean & pretty park, but do not expect WDW. No fast passes & sometimes long waits. The theming is nice with the different countries of Europe. The best coaster I have been on is Alpingeist in their "bavaria/germany" area! Awesome!!! They also have the "big bad wolf" which is tamer..My kids went on that. And the Lock ness monster which does loopdeeloops & is lots of fun if your Dh & DS's are daredevils. Das Festhaus is a nice place to eat..sort of like Beirgarten only alot bigger.

Any questions, let me know..its been awhile but I'll try to help if I can.

He released Aug 1-15 today so it shouldn't be too much longer.
Yea, I saw that & got all excited. Last year it took a long time for August TGM info to come out.

Horray for Disney... Boo for feeling bad.

Feel better!!!!!!!

It's very sad that a New Yorker gives the best description of Williamsburg, VA.

In my defense, it's probably been 18 years since I've been there. Now that my kids are getting older it might be something fun to do.
