DDA Chapter 3

Bernadette- Yep, the site was probably the cause of your headache! By the way, the Tink border is back today.
Thanks! I'll have to go back as some of the photos that I didn't add it to are some of my favorites from the trip!

Yikes! Glad you got out early and home safely. Stay warm! I totally understand the need for it to end. That was me a few winters ago when we had 100+ inches our first winter back in Boston after 2 in SoCal.
Was that the winter of 2002/2003? The year Emma was born?

I didn't want to get up this morning either. I couldn't fall asleep and Colby woke up at 2 AM with his feet and legs aching. It took me about an hour to get him comfortable and not crying. Thanks to Motrin, heating pad and leg and foot massages. Once he fell back asleep he was fine through the rest of the night. I find these nights of broken sleep just don't cut it. Since we have been getting him up for the potty during the night for the last 2 weeks sleep has been very broken. I'm not a happy Mommy. I just can't fathom how long this is going to take as he just does not wake up and he cannot hold it for longer than 4 or 5 hours. He is nearly 5 1/2 and I would think that he is capable, but I guess not. We don't even let him drink in the evening (which he is not happy about ) Did anyone else have Night time potty issues and when did they resolve?
My Emma has been dry at night since like age 2 but she can hold it 12+ hours during the day. The others are still having issues. Lizzy is finally pretty good but I have to make sure she goes right before going to bed and if she's really tired she still has occasional accidents. Joe still isn't dry at night. I think they both sleep too soundly. Now that Lizzy is doing so much better I know that Joe will get it eventually too.

It's all over but the :sad1:

What a sad way to end the perfect season.

I was a little sad too. Wasn't sure I cared one way or the other, but it was sad to see it end this way. What a game though!

You did a great job. You do look nice in it. However, you need to be comfortable in it. I'm not sure about the one I made yet. I really am a little uneasy with it. I'll have to wear it around home some time to check it out.

I think that you both look really cute! The styles look nice on you. Maybe it just takes a little getting used it. Whatever you both decide though....Excellent job!!!

I thought I'd show everybody what we got Cassidy for her 16th:

th_Cass.jpg

Very pretty! I think she'll love it.

you know, Terry... I don't know about that! It was in the middle of the Superbowl, so I would think it would be hard for the local channel to stuck it in, wouldn't it? Maybe not! :confused3

Did anyone else see it?

We had one here. It was in the first half of the game. Then I think there was one towards the end or just after the game as well.

During most shows, the local station can air local ads, but I wouldn't think they could in the SuperBowl - too many ad dollars at stake. Who knows tough. Maybe it was just in highly contested Super Tuesday states/areas.

Elin, Tammi, or anyone else have you ever been to Williamsburg, VA? What about Busch Gardens?

We are thinking of taking a trip elsewhere(I know bad, bad, bad, lol)in the next couple of years. The area seems beautiful with lots to do! I think a visit to the beach would be in order as well.

So what can you tell me :)

No we moved back after Terra was born so it must have been 2004/2005. Oh yeah, I remember 02/03 being bad too because we moved to CA right before that winter and Terra was born while you guys were having a blizzard in Feb. I remember thinking that I would have hated to be getting a cab to the hospital in that storm. I don't think the whole of the city was quite at 100 in 04/05, but we topped it in Salem. We got 38" in that blizzard in late Jan that year. My brilliant husband was at the MIT Sci-Fi festival during that storm and had to get home in it. He also walked to my office near Fanueil Hall to get my laptop so that I could work from home for a few days.

Good morning, DDA. Luckily, the morning has dawned with Terra doing much better. She was pretty good most of yesterday. When the coughing would get bad again, she'd drink something warm and it helped. By evening though it was pretty bad again. She slept coughingly the first half of the night and fitfull most of it. I was rolled into at least a dozen times as she tossed and turned. However, I've hardly heard any coughing since she got up. So, hopefully the worst is behind us.

For now though, I am being begged for a bath. Seems we forgot to ever get up there and take it yesterday so now she is dying to get her bath. So, I think that I will grab a book and go read while she plays. After that, I think that the basement is calling me to make another go round at it. Wonder how many pounds l can get rid of this time.

Tia glad to hear Terra is feeling better!

Marci - You are a BRAVE girl to go to anything in downtown Dallas.:scared: I saw on the news that they said about 30,000 people were at that parade. I always get nervous after the melee at the Super Bowl parade several years ago. People around here just don't have the manners necessary for events like that to be safe. I'm glad you guys had fun!

I didn't want to get up this morning either. I couldn't fall asleep and Colby woke up at 2 AM with his feet and legs aching. It took me about an hour to get him comfortable and not crying. DS was still in Pull Ups at his 5 yr. well check, so I asked the Dr. He said it is pretty common in boys, and that 15% of the boys who are night time wetters will outgrow it each year. DS just spontaneously started staying dry at 5 yrs. 7 mos. and hasn't had any accidents since then. After a week of dry Pull Ups we let him start sleeping in underwear (his choice) and it was fine. Colby will get there!

Tia glad to hear Terra is feeling better!

I hope Terra has a great day!

2 good things happened to me this morning. 1) The payoff on the car has cleared so I don't have to send the payment for February!
2) When a HUGE sign fell off the wall at the grocery store this morning and pulled down some light fixtures I wasn't standing anywhere near it! And neither was anyone else, thank goodness!
It was a HUGE 12 foot section of signage above the meat case (the one where you choose the meats and they wrap them for you). The sign came off the wall and pulled down a bunch of flourescent tubing. A man had been standing there buying some steaks about 15 seconds before it fell. That man should go buy a lottery ticket today because he has some incredible luck! It was the loudest noise I have ever heard in a store. It is truly amazing that nobody got hurt.

Williamsburg is a great location for a vacation, Janet! We go there at least once a year, sometimes even for just the day. Busch Gardens is a beautiful park, but cannot be compared to WDW. It is much smaller, but gorgeous, nonetheless. It is well themed and has some pretty awesome rides, I have been told! ;)

I think the combination of the historic area and the theme park (there is also a water park and a Great Wolf Lodge) makes it a great choice for families.

Well, I have my shirt just about finished. I have to finish off all the places where I ran the elastic through and hem the bottom. I'm not sure what I think yet. Chuck and the girls like it.

Looks great

Working on cake pics. I am having issues with the memory cards not loading into the computer! :scared:

This one is Princess's cake. It looks a little funny because I cropped it so her name won't show!

This is DS's.

Beautiful

Virginia is rolling over now front to back and back to front.

I need to make an Invitation for my Brother's Birthday he is turning 30 and my mom is throwing him a party.

Sorry Chris, I was sad that the Patriots did not win.

Olivia still does not stay dry every night.

my back is feeling a little better now that I have been up for a little while and taken a shower.

My sister had problems until she was at least 7 or 8. She was such a sound sleeper. I understand that my grandfather also had problems into his teens. There are just some people that don't wake up.

I got one of those book exchange letters in the mail today, for children. The idea is you mail one book to one child and send six additional letters, and the end result *should* be 36 books in return.

I've tried things like this in the past without much luck, but I'm willing to give it a go again. Anyone else interested? Please PM me if you are.

I'm making Glynis' sweet and savory ribs today, and boy does my house smell good! Hope everyone is having a good day! :)

Tia- :yay: for Terra feeling better.

Deb- I am sorry Colby (and Mommy too) had a rough night.

Elizabeth- :yay: for the payoff!  So glad that you or anyone else was not hurt. Scary!

Jennifer- :yay: for Virginia rolling over! She'll be 4 months old soon, right?

Bernadette- I am glad that border came back but now I need to go back through mine again! The site was down most of the day yesterday. I guess it was a good thing as I was able to accomplish some much neglected chores.

Molly can stay dry for over 16 hours (and soak through a pull up in 10 minutes) but still refuses to have absolutely nothing to do with the potty.:headache: :sad2:

:cool1: for the payoff!

Glad no one was hurt by the falling sign

I'm still at a loss with the top that I made. I'm toying with the idea of buying a long tank top and making a fat belt with the material to tie my outfit together with Chris'. I never realized how fussy I was about tops until now :lmao: I think I'll try to find an olive colored tank or cami to wear under it first and see if that makes a difference. That square neck does not allow for a supportive bra and I am just too old to not wear a bra. Chris thinks it looks great, but I need support :rotfl:

Of course Chris thinks it looks great! :lmao: That is too funny. I thought you looked nice in it but it is always hard to tell the fit from pictures. If you aren't comfortable, you need to find a way to fix it.

Thank you Elin! I have ordered some brochures to look at. I think Gary would enjoy the area as well.

I love Disney but we need to try something different that all of us will enjoy together.
