DDA Chapter 3

Well, it looks like I will be staying home tomorrow. Alyssa has a stomach bug of some sort. Not diarrhea but very loose. Twice she didn't make it in time today and she just woke up having to go again. So I'll keep her home tomorrow. I'd hate for her to have a oops at school. No other symptoms though. Must have been something she ate. She had popcorn shrimp last night when we went out to dinner. I don't know if that could have done it or not, but it's the only thing different that the rest of us didn't have.
poor kidddo
I hope she gets well fast

Wow! I can't believe that! :lmao: It could have something to do with me being lazy today! :rotfl:
Sounds like you got a lot done for a lazy day.

Here are some pictures of the cute little kitten that frequents our house now when Katrina is here. Isn't he a cutie?
Yes he is!

Olivia loves the air bud movies
We have a couple of the others.

I want to make some kind of Disney top for myself first I think. Eventually, I want to make Chuck a button-up shirt. I was going to make him one years ago and he was quite disappointed when it never materialized. However, I need to practice button holes for that so it will come later.
Couldn't you make Chuck's shirt and have your Mom help you with the button holes?

:wizard: Hope it is short lived and no one else gets it.

I am in double digits for May.:figment: :figment:

I'm trying to do borders on photopass but it is SOOOOOOOOO slow. I may work on my January trip report again.

I'll be home all morning to chat with you Tammi. I need to see the Chriopractor some time tomorrow probably in the afternoon.

I do believe I am heading off after all my senseless posting:

Good Morning DDA!!

It has been a little while since I posted this trip report so I thought I would do a little recap:
Day 1 stayed at Logan's Hyatt. Joe LOVED it!
Day 2 fly to MCO, Sci Fi for an early dinner, MK for "Ice" castle, rode BTMRR 4 times in a row
Day 3 AK for early entry, EE 3 times, late breakfast at Tusker House, swim at Pop, dinner at California Grill
Day 4 early entry at Epcot, Soarin, Test Track 3 times, late breakfast at Cape May

So after a great meal at Cape May with the best character interaction of any meal, we walked back to Epcot. We started our World tour in France. They told us Marie would be out at 12:30 so we headed over to Morocco and Japan and then went back to France. We waited a while and I asked again at 12:45 and they called this time and said she wouldn't be out today.

Joe took this picture while we were waiting (ETA-now that I see the photo....I guess he took it after we found out Marie wouldn't be out-see the time):

In Morocco Aladdin was just heading in and they said he would back with Genie at 2:30. In Japan I noticed that the candy lady would be out at 2:15 so I figured this would work out for us. We did USA, Italy, Germany, China, and Norway. We rode Malestrom and rushed back to Japan to get there just after 2:00. We were the 4th family there.

The candy lady in Japan is awesome!!!!! We were told later that she is one of just 15 folks in the world who can do this. We watched in awe as she made a crane, canary, kangaroo, aligator and panda bear. Joe was her 6th and final lucky guest. He asked her a turtle. We gave her a thank you card and got a photo. She is simply amazing!!!!! (You can see in this photo that Joe didn't want to do a mask so he put the "charms" on his future world necklace).

We went back to Morocco and saw Aladdin who was out with Jasmine-who Joe had never seen before.
DSC07116.jpg

We then went to the UK and Canada. We saw Koda & Kenai in Canada. Koda is very playfull. We bought Lizzy a husky in Canada-she's been eyeing them for the past several trips. The CM's there LOVED Joe's turtle!

It was now time to head to MGM for our ADR at Brown Derby. At the international gateway one of the CM's had an Everest Fast Pass pin that Joe wanted to trade but when she saw his birthday button she gave it to him. He gave her a thank you card and she asked him to sign her autograph book so Joe asked her to sign his book. She was so nice to Joe!

We walked over to the BC to take the boat to MGM. At MGM I picked up a time guide and noticed that Remy wasn't on the character schedule. We stopped at the info booth and they called and told us the Remy & Emile had gone back to cooking school and weren't appearing anywhere in WDW.:confused3 The CM's were really nice and loved Joe's book and turtle.

We went to Brown Derby. By now Joe was getting tired. He had a hot dog. I had a nice salad, filet, and the grapefruit cake. It was good but not great like the last time I was there. Joe got gummy worms in dirt (oreos), vanilla ice cream and a chocolate chip cookie.

We had our photo taken and I walked through a store but decided I'd rather be cold than pay $40 for a sweatshirt-I wasn't planning on being out all day. Joe did have his. Fantasmic was very crowded. We sat up high so that we could make our escape when the show was over. I ended up putting Joe on my lap so 2 other folks could sit down. When the show was over I realized I spilt a cup of water on my mesh daypack. Thank goodness I had Joe's book in a ziplock bag but his necklace from Epcot got all wet. We had to stop at the restroom on the way out but still beat the majority of the crowds out. We were happy to get a seat on the bus with very little wait. We stopped at the giftshop to pickup our Tusker House photo and Emma's HUGE Tree of Life playset. Joe tried his turtle in the room and said it was good but hasn't eaten any more of it since. He wanted to see my photos on the TV but fell asleep very quickly.

We made it to Epcot before 9am opening. We got a stroller and headed for the rope drop for Soarin where we saw HUGE crowds.
DSC07169.jpg

We called Daddy to say hello (it is frustrating that cell service is so lousy in the resort rooms). We (um...I guess I) decided to hit the Character Connection instead of fighting with the crowds. We saw Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Chip, Dale, and Goofy. The characters and handlers all loved Joe's book.

When we got to the Land pavillion the lines for Soarin were not too bad. We got a fast pass and then got in the stand by line. After riding stand by we got breakfast at Sunshine Seasons. Joe had a big breakfast (I guess to make up for the hot dog dinner)-French toast, eggs, sausage, cereal and hot chocolate. I cannot remember what I had-probably some sort of pastry. By the time Joe was done eating it was time for our fast pass. After Soarin Joe wanted to start a new necklace to replace the one that got all wet.

I'm pretty sure this photo was from yesterday but I still like it so I'll share it here:
DSC04297.jpg

We saw Figment-he stamped Joe's book and then rode the Figment ride. Joe used to ride the entire ride holding his nose now he only does it for the skunk part. We got Joe's photo taken in the Kodak shop at the ride exit for the crystal. When we paid the CM had Goofy call Joe to wish him a Happy Birthday. THey said it would be ready at 6:30 and the shop closed at 7:00pm so they weren't giving me much of a pickup window.

We went to the Living Seas and rode the Nemo clamshells, did TurtleTalk, had our photo taken with Bruce and Joe got his "charms". We went to one of the Innoventions and did the Visa Photo Op and saw Mickey, Minnie and Goofy. Joe got his charm here. We went to pick up the photo at the photo center (Joe picked a photo with both of us and a 2008 logo) and saw that Space Ship Earth was open. We both liked it but Joe LOVED the ending.;)

DSC07249.jpg

We went to the other Innoventions and Joe made paper and we made robots. Our robot came in 2nd place in the virtual contest. Joe got his charm here.

DSC07254.jpg

We got a fast pass for Test Track and went back to the Living Seas because Joe had ripped his dolphin charm. We had a late lunch at Electric Umbrella. I had chicken strips and Joe had mac & cheese. He wanted to sit outside. I had forgotten to get Joe a fork so I went in to get it. When I came out about 20 birds were all over Joe trying to get our food. Someone had covered the food with naptkins for us but it was crazy. We went inside. After we ate we rode Test Track and Joe "drove" the cars he missed yesterday. He got his charm and because he had done all the future world stops he got his poster.

It was around 5pm so I decided to check to see if Joe's crystal cube was ready yet before we headed over the the World Showcase. It was and it was SO cool!!!! I wonder how they do it. Joe's 3D head is in the front and sides of the cube and the back of it has just his face but when you move his head moves so he can nod his head at you.

With the heavy cube in my backpack we headed over to the world showcase. I forgot to mention that I had made Joe simple cards with the country's flag and wrote "Celebrating Joe's 7th Birthday with a trip around the world". We asked the CM's to sign "Happy Birthday" in their language. We started in Mexico as that was the only country we hadn't done yesterday. We did the boat rode and my real Disney fanatic declared he like the old ride better.
DSC07274.jpg

We continued around the world and Joe got the charms for his necklace. Norway, China, Germany. In Germany we bought Lizzy a small crystal Pooh. I figured I couldn't come home with a small beany baby sized husky for her and a HUGE tree of life for Emma. The crystal was cute and reasonably priced. In Italy we had our photo taken with King Neptune. Continued on the USA, Japan, and Morocco. We had our photo taken at the fountain in Morocco. In France there was a large happy group taking their own photo at the fountain. The photopass photographer offered to take their photo but then one of the members of the group wanted her in the photo so I offered to take a photo but then they wanted me in the photo too.:rotfl: They were having a blast. Joe & I had the photopass photographer take our photo.

that sounds neat.

How much are these?

In the UK we saw Alice. We had our photo taken (love these night time Epcot photopass photos). I took a photo of Joe in a red phonebooth. In Canada someone took a photo of us in the totem pole photo op thingy. We had made it all the way around the world and Joe had all his charms.

Joe wasn't up for Illuminations so we headed out of the park but stopped take photos of the Imagination upside down waterfall and we admired the lights in the walkways. I LOVE those lights-it just pure Disney magic to me!!! We had our photo taken at the park entrance and headed for the bus. We had a really great driver and this is where we realized we had forgotten all about the EMH at AK that night.

Joe's birthday was the next day so I hung up the "Today is my Birthday" sign before I went to bed.
