DDA Chapter 3

Disney shuts down the IASW in the Land down for 5 days on each end...I can just imagine that's why they don't decorate the rides in the World.

except this time that IASW is closed in DL it is down for a long rehab.

I thought I'd try and share my latest endeavor, actually I started it a long time ago but just recently got back to finishing it. It is a powerpoint presentation of our 2006 family trip, I found a program, Camtasia Studio 5 that will record the presentation so that it can be made into a DVD. This is only part of it because the whole thing is too long for YouTube,

Hope this works.

Great! If Kristine forgets to get one in Feb. perhaps you can get one for me! And if you don't mind picking up the second one for me that would be awesome! I'll be happy to get 6 in August, so I'll have 5 to share with whoever is working on the set. Then we'll just have to hit up the Nov-Dec crowd for that final one in the series. ;)
Did you ever get the one you were missing from last year?

No, I didn't get the one that I'm missing. The person that I asked to trade never got back with me. I have to get in again and see who wants something I have that might be willing to trade.

Do you get two per passholder? If that is the case, then I can get a couple of extra ones as well because all 4 of us will be passholders this year. I'm hoping to go in December as well. Don't know if it will happen but we are going to try.

I'm happy to get the 1st one if Kristine doesn't for some reason and I'll get #2 in June. Just remind me before the trip!

I hope you don't sew your fingers together. That is precisely what I would do. :rotfl2:

I won't sew my fingers together because I did lots of sewing as a kid and teenager. I am just afraid of using the wrong stitches and having whatever I make look hideous when I get done. :lmao:

It takes a good month for them to do IASW in DL. The ride is closed from Halloween until December 1st.

The soup is all in the bowls to place in the freezer when they cool down enough. We're freezing them and then will remove them from the bowls and put them in the sealable bags. We have 19 bowls of soup. I'll have to double the cheese broccoli recipe in the future. We only have 4 bowls left for the freezer. We need to play with the corn-potato chowder before I make a larger batch. It is still lacking something besides the thickening. I may add some shrimp and make it shrimp chowder.

It did! What a good job you did, Debbie! :thumbsup2

I just spent the last 2 or 3 hours going through schools' webpages around here and making a list of addresses/names to send my resumes too--whew!

Great job Debbie!

I haven't even started my DVD project from my last trip yet!

I'll be starting the Italian Sausage soup shortly. I want to use the pan that I made the corn-potato chowder so I am waiting until that is done so I can move it into the crock pot.

Would you mind posting the recipe for this? I have some in the freezer that I want to use up and don't want to do the normal Italian Sausage sandwiches...

Debbie, that is really cool! Great job!

Jen, good luck with the resumes, etc... I hope you get a great response! :goodvibes

I actually sewed some stitches on my machine. :woohoo: I am playing with the machine to get used to where everything is first. I'm also searching the internet for a user manual for the machine. Mom bought it second hand years ago. I'm not having much luck yet.

Good Luck with your resumes Jen, I'm sure the perfect job is out there waiting for you.

Katie and Jacob loved Minute Men! I only got to see the last bit of it. When is it going to be on again?
you can go to disneychannel.com to look for the schedule

my grandma passed last night at about 7:30
Karen:wizard:  just remember she is not suffering anymore

I am getting a 10" vanilla cake with whipped cream frosting and strawberries & custard filling. I'll have it delivered to dinner at Citrico's on my actual birthday. I never saw any cakes from Cali Grill that impressed me, so I figured I'll stick to the GF bakery.
that sounds yummy

I usually took about 10 outfits and 6-7 pajamas. I always changed her into jammies at the parks so that was always available for a backup outfit as well.
Thanks Tia

I don't mind doing laundry at WDW. I welcome the nice quiet escape.;) I also know for us (DH doesn't travel well) that doing laundry is a whole lot easier than struggling with too many bags. Girls are actually very easy and August is easy too cause you know it going to be HOT. I bring a few rayon sun dresses for the girls. They will pack in a sandwich size ziplock .

Glad the girls are doing better. Hope the treatments work for Olivia.

Maybe this will work:

My pictures from my trip with Joe are the first 300 or so (I"ve added some borders) and Robyn's are the last 350. They got some WONDERFUL photos! The BBB ones are beautiful and you can see that they had a great trip and that baby Lucy LOVES the characters. The photos of the girls in Tom's SSP Minnine dresses are adorable!!!! They got some great candid shots too.

Robyn-drive safe! Can't wait to see your photos too!
Thanks Bernadette
The pics look great,
Robyn I love all your pics but I espically like the BBB ones

Would you mind posting the recipe for this? I have some in the freezer that I want to use up and don't want to do the normal Italian Sausage sandwiches...

Italian Sausage Soup

1 # italian sausage
1 c chopped onion
2 garlic cloves, sliced
5 c beef broth
1/2 c water
1/2 c dry red wine or water
2 c (or 4 med) peeled tomatoes
1 c thinly sliced carrots
1/2 t basil leaves
1/2 t oregano leaves
8 oz. tomato sauce
1-1/2 c sliced zucchini
3 T chopped parsley
1 med green pepper
grated parmesan cheese
meat or cheese tortellini (optional)

Remove casing from sausage. In 5 qt. dutch oven, brown sausage. Remove & drain, reserving 1 T drippings in dutch oven. Saute onions & garlic in drippings until onions are tender. Add beef broth, water, wine, tomatoes, carrots, basil, oregano, tomato sauce, and sausage. Bring to boil. Reduce heat, simmer uncovered 30 minutes. Skim fat from soup. Stir in zucchini, parsley & green pepper. Simmer covered an additional 35-40 minutes. Add cooked tortellini & sprinkle w/ parmesan cheese on each serving.

Makes 8 (1-1/2 c) servings

We add the tortellini individually. Some people like it and others don't. We like fresh tomatoes and leave the skins on. I don't use red wine. We use 5 beef bouillion cubes in 5 cups of water for the broth. We only add the extra cup of water if it looks like it needs it.

i have a question for you guys. i want to know if i was right at being upset last night. i will first give you background info then tell ya what happened.

with the program i am on when i live with my parents i have respite hours. those hours are used for me to have my attendants take care of me if parents want/need to go out of town. i use those on top of my normal hours i have. so this weekend i have used them.

here is what happened: friday when we found out my parents needed to go out of town i called my night attendant(she also does weekend hours) and told her what was going on and the hours i needed her to work this weekend. she was fine with it. then friday night i went over the hours again to make sure she was fine with it. she said ok that shed work and they were fine. these are the hours she was to work: friday 6-12(normal hours 8-12), saturday 9-1 6-12(normal hours 9-12 8-12), sunday 8-1 6-10:30(normal hours 9-12 8:30-10:30). saturday morning she was saying that it was alot of hours. then saturday night she asked at 7 that she is only gonna have 6 hours of sleep and will be tired on sunday and wants off at 11 since she has to be here sunday at 8 and needs her rest.

i was upset last night because her hours are 8-12 and i wanted to stay up till midnight not 11. my brother was out too and i didn't even know if hed be back by then and i felt bad that i had to bug him to come home an hour earlier than he had too. i don't know maybe im making it more than i should but it made me mad. i was like do i need someone else to come in so you can have your rest and she was like no i just need to get home because i need my rest:furious:
