DDA Chapter 3

:wave2: Hi, Paula. Hope you feel OK in the morning! ;)

I am going to say Good morning, DDA! :sunny: now because I bet I will sleep in a bit.

I had one stinkin' pill left to take and I wanted to get it out of the way now instead of in the morning. The taste that Flagyl has left in my mouth the past 2 weeks has been HORRIBLE. I am finally done with all the antibiotics, but there is still a swelling along the gum line. I guess I will have to see if it continues to reduce in size over the next couple of days. I don't relish having to go back to the endodontist yet again!

I teach from 10-2:00 today (concerto rehearsals) but I will check in with you all later. Enjoy your mornings, everyone! :goodvibes:

Thanks for lifting my spirits tonight, guys! I really needed an escape!

It was another rough day around here. To make a long story short, I have been off-and-on working/fighting with Sprint over the past few days re: a BlackBerry I ordered from them that doesn't work right - to the tune of almost 7 hours, and even more people, over the phone. I finally talked to a helpful person Thursday night, and after also talking to one of their IT specialists on Friday, both recommended that I exchange the phone at one of their stores, as it's obvious that I have a lemon on my hands. So, imagine my surprise when I arrive at the Sprint store today, and the snippy little teenager tells me that I need some sort of authorization e-mail to do this, and no, she can't be bothered to call customer service and see the very long-documented history of my past week with this phone! Let's just say that I hit the roof. It was not my finest hour, and I can now honestly see how sometimes people can do bodily harm to one another.

Fortunately, I promptly got myself out of that store and came home to beat up my bedroom pillows. I think I scared Jonathan. :scared: I have never been so mad in my life. He called Sprint for me, and I have to wait until Monday for this stupid e-mail. :headache: I would love to tell them to just shove it, but we renewed our contracts when upgrading to these phones, and of course, Jonathan's works perfectly. I would still think of just ditching Sprint and going to AT&T for the iPhone, but my work doesn't support adding my e-mail to any device that isn't BlackBerry. :headache:

Long story short - if you ever consider changing cell phone companies - DO NOT GO WITH SPRINT!!!!!!!!! I never had a problem with them in the 8 years up until now, but this is just tortuous.

I think I'm going to head to bed, and hope for a much better day tomorrow. I've been exhausted most of the day after my little "outing" this morning - felt like I had quite a workout!

Love the pics!! But I must say that even with such incredible pics I am just an all-out Florida girl. Don't know if we will ever do DL. I don't like to venture out of my comfort zone.

That took longer than I expected! Glad they finally arrived! :thumbsup2

Have fun planning!
I'm glad the boys both had 2nd place finishes!

Eh, I haven't had any psychic moments myself lately. Maybe we'll just take a little break. ;)

Debbie, I can not stand diet drinks, but I am trying to get away from high fructose corn syrup. What I have found is this: 2 liters, cans, and fountain drinks taste different even if they are the same flavor. Soda poured from a can over ice tastes different than soda directly from the can. Diet cherry vanilla Dr. Pepper from a can in a glass over ice is NOT that bad. I can tolerate Diet Coke directly out of the can but I don't love it. And Lindsay is right about diet root beer - it isn't that bad. Good luck finding one you can deal with! :wizard:

I see she answered that she is 23, which still doesn't make Kristine TRULY old enough to be her mother. ;)

Feel better soon, Vicki! And Chuck, too! :wizard:

I have Vista, but I don't know anything about it since I only use the computer for internet and e-mail. :confused3

I went to Macaroni Grill with DH and a bunch of friends. It was fun. I LIKE birthdays. I'm not bothered by getting older. :confused3

I wondered that, too.

Shhh! He gets mad if I mention that! :rotfl2:
I did get my CD today, but DH just brought the mail in as we were leaving for dinner so I haven't even opened it yet. :)

I will be learning how to rip from CDs later this week. We're holding the iPod to give to DS on Wednesday.
Lots of :wizard: for your sister, and  to you while you listen to your mom fuss about them!

I need to go back and look at all the pics!

I really like that soup, too! Let me know how you like the dinner overall. Some of the reviews have been pretty harsh!

We had a really nice evening with the boys! :) They all got along great and were very well behaved. We picked up one friend (he just lives across the way so it takes about 5 minutes to go get him) and the other 2 met us at the mall. TGI Fridays was fun. Really, really good service, OK food. The fried green beans were REALLY good. I can see those becoming an addiction for me. The boys liked it, so I think it was a good choice. All 4 of them ordered from the kids menu, which shocked me! We told them to order whatever they wanted. 2 of them skipped dessert! DH took them all to the restroom while I paid the bill, then we went to the movie. We bought the tickets before dinner, but we were running a bit later than I planned so the only row with 6 seats together was the VERY front. Not my favorite place to sit, but it was OK. I liked the movie! The boys all said they liked it, too. DH even stayed awake for the whole thing! (I am irritated that he stayed up so late since he has to work tomorrow, but he insisted.) So it went very well and everybody had a good time. :) I am really glad I encouraged DS to ask a few of his friends to come instead of just one. More like a party. :yay:

I'm glad that ds's party went well. It sounds like a wonderful evening for all involved.

Hello DDA
All is well in our house and everyone seems to be healthy again.
Tomorrow Mark and Ellie are modeling in a bridal show (hope to get pics) and then we have a fun filled week of normal stuff.

I worked Bingo tonight again and I so can't wait for them to pay me (the singing teacher). I get $10.00 per hour tax free and it goes straight to Ellie's Hollywood fund ( it never touches my hands because it goes direct to the teacher). I am at about $400.00 as of now. But Mark is going TDY for 3 weeks soon and that takes me out of a few days. I might ask my mom to come down so I can work a night or two while he is gone.

I should let you all know I have had a glass (plus, plus) of wine while typing this, so it could get (or may have already gotten) messy in the spelling area. ;)

If any of you feel like making a little trip out to Californ-I-A to work a night of Bingo with me.... I can put you up on the couch for the night, no problem-o.

So did I tell you all my step grandmother (Nana) died the other day? It was rather wild. (I know I am full of strange shtuff) My mom married this man when I was about two-ish (Ken) and a few yrs later my brother came along (like you care). And who... (oh, my bio dad lives in PA and his name is Paul (again like you care) no I don't talk with him much either) What was I typing?
Oh, so step dad Ken is married to mom for about 10 yrs give or take and bam they brake up. Blah blah blah. Well nana was always nice to us, my grandpa (step) was even better, I miss him. Did I tell you all I didn't know my bio fathers parents at all? Again with the blah blah blah crap.......
Back to the stinkin story. Over the years I have sent cards and stuff to nana, well this Christmas ken (step dude) calls and says Nana has cancer of the brain and she wont last long (dammmmm light just turned off on my while typing an my nose iches). Blah blah blah more drama. So I call her up one day and get to talk with her. She was able to speak to me a bit. I passed on my love and thanks for treating me like her own. She passed on her love for me as well and told me I was her granddaughter. (where in the world am I going with this?) Well she passed the other day and I feel like pluto poop for not calling back to talk with her one more time. I do however think her came by and tinged on my chandelier the day she passed.

I think I best be getting off to bed, because I am going on like a flippin river about blah blah blah.

If all else fails I do hope this was a bit of fun to read. Love, joy, blah blah blah (word of the post... blah :lmao: )

night all and hope all is well in your homes this weekend.

I'm not sure whether to laugh or cry. You post is quite funny, but I am sorry to here about Nana.

This has been a very strange night for me. I went to bed before 11:30 as I've been a bit tired and not completely up to par. At 1:10 Colby asks me if he should go potty now. Um lets see you are awake and thinking about it so...yeah...you should go. I got him settled back down and drifted off myself until about 2:30. For some reason I was and still am wide awake. I tried and tried to get back to sleep, but all these projects kept popping up in my head, some with great clarity. So now that I have the great sewing projects sorted in my head you'd think that my brain would shut down and let me sleep, yet I find myself here :confused3

I am contemplating installing XP drivers and putting XP on the new computer...not sure if that would be easy or not.

I feel your pain on this one too, my old computer was so old that I was running ME, many of my programs and my scanner were not compatable. I don't understand why the upgraded systems won't run older programs, you would think they would allow for that.

I can't seem to remember what I even did for my 30th bday...

We lived on 16 acres on my 30th and had a HUGE party, my BIL had to help me send everyone home at around 3 in the morning as DH had already passed out. The days of that kind of party are far behind us now.

Sorry to hear about Nana Paula, Ellie is an amazingly talented young lady.

Have a wonderful day DDA

Jennifer - your scrapbook is wonderful! I so want to learn how to do that. Will you print it out and put it into an album, or will it always be virtual?

Now I'm off to look at Clare's.

Thank you!

I have ordered it printed and bound from mypublisher.com... I had always planned to do that, but I definitely need to since a lot of the text is impossible to read that small! :rotfl:

Chris and I have been playing on the webkinz site tonight. We were seeing who could find more words in the wordsearch game. I made it to a higher level :lmao:

I'm headed to bed very soon. Tomorrow will be a day of skiing, but not until noon. We can ski until 9 PM though. I don't think we will last that long.

Have a wonderful time skiing! My family just went skiing and tubing this past weekend. I was so angry -- they wouldn't go for years when I asked them, and now the timing is right for them! :rotfl:

I was looking at the forums on mypublisher and some of the folks have some nice books. Maybe I'll just start try that. They seem to have more layouts than Kodak.

Honestly, their books really are sufficient. I'm thinking about just going back and using plain layouts to get the vacation pictures at least PRINTED, then I can always just scrap when I can (not chronologically then, just about whatever) and when I have enough for a book - in a certain theme, or whatever - get it printed.

They really do have a TON of layouts though -- some where you can include text (either captions or full scrapbook-like journaling), some including full-bleed photos, dozens of other arrangements. They are a bit more expensive than some of the other sites, and don't have as many good promotions (theirs are often "Buy one get one free", which is a GREAT deal -- but only if you want to give one of the books away... it has to be 2 of the same), but I am impressed with the quality and the software to design the books, etc can't be beat (IMO).

How frustrating! :headache: We have absolutely loved Sprint, of the 4 companies we've been with. We haven't changed much in a few years, though, except phones.... so maybe their customer service has gone severely downhill. I hope everything is worked out soon, and you were able to let out your frustrations on your poor pillows! ;)

Oh I hope the swelling goes away without any more intervention!

Ugh, that was me yesterday! Not that I ever sleep all that well, but usually I at least keep trying, instead of being wide awake. I hope you can catch up on some rest soon! Otherwise, I'll pop back on here more often each night and we can keep each other company! ;)

I'm not sure what to do with myself today! No football, Kyle will be sleeping when he gets home, my house is clean, and my scrapbooking is done. Well, that one scrapbook, and I sure as heck don't have the energy to start another one just yet. :rotfl:

I'm off to get ready for church. I'm going to the early service so I can be home in time to talk to Kyle while he drives home. Nothing like making someone talk to you on their cell phone while driving to prevent an accident. It's better than him falling asleep at the wheel, I keep telling myself. Instead, I just wish he didn't have to work these stupid overnight or 30 hour shifts, then this wouldn't be an issue!

Have a great day DDA! :goodvibes

Good morning, again, DDA! :sunny:

Hope you all have great mornings!

I'm sorry Lindsay. I hope the switch on Monday goes hassle-free. Modern technology is supposed to make life easier but sometimes it just doesn't work that way. :wizard:

Happy Birthday to DS!

I'm sorry to hear this Paula. :grouphug: And I hope you don't have a hangover this morning.;)

Good morning. :)

I think today will be just another day around the house. Bob and Bethany both have head colds so they aren't feeling quite up to much. Nicholas has a birthday party to go to this afternoon.

Off to get ready for church. Have a great day!

Lindsay - I just can't see you getting that mad! I hope they rectify your situation pronto on Monday.

Elizabeth - I am glad you and DS's friends had a good time tonight! Your DH will catch up on his sleep, I am sure. You ought to consider one trip to DL and DCA. It wouldn't need to be a long one!

Maybe, maybe. But probably not anytime soon. I really think we will eventually end up living in FL.

:wave2: Hi, Paula. Hope you feel OK in the morning! ;)

Paula, I am sorry to hear about your Nana! Glad you were able to pop in for a bit!

I'm glad everyone had an enjoyable evening. What movie did you see? I'm sure you mentioned it, but with my 41 year old memory............:rolleyes1 .

Happy Birthday to DS!

National Treasure. I was worried about it being a sequel, but I asked on the CB and everyone said it would still be fine if we hadn't seen the first one. It wasn't the least bit hard to follow.

So I got an itinerary from AKL IPO today. This is my 187 mark, not 180. Kind of strange. Kristine, have you ever worked with Jim? He is the contact on my e-mail.

DS and I are off to a pancake breakfast to benefit the high school baseball team. I was soooo comfy in my bed. But this breakfast has seating times so we have to scoot! Chat with you all later! :)

I can't believe I'll be in Disney World in 34 days! I still have to order P&P party tickets and we may book a Segway tour. Our ME tickets came yesterday. Otherwise, I think everything is all set.

Woohooooo
I have really enjoyed reading it and seeing the pictures of you in all the locations. Keep it coming, kiddo!

Its been so much fun to write--i have so many pictures with other people in them that i didnt want to post, so i hate just finding pictures of me!

I'm not sure whether to laugh or cry. You post is quite funny, but I am sorry to here about Nana.

Sorry to hear about nana
