DDA Chapter 3

I do not want to go to Vista or the new Office. Way too different for my taste.

More like a royal pain in the patootie.;) ;) I do not like Vista at all, I want to downgrade to XP, but all the drivers do not exist for my laptop so I am stuck. It keeps crashing all the time and just makes my life unhappy.:snooty: I am hoping that service pack 1 will make a huge difference but am doubtful.

As for the new MS Office I have the trial on my laptop and use Openoffice. Except the default is the MS trial of Office. I need to take the trial MS Office off of the computer but have not done so yet.

What's everyone else doing tonight? I'm just sitting here watching TV. I taught mom how to rip CD's for her mp3 player.

We are going to make a several pots of soup tomorrow - Corn-potato chowder, Italian Sausage, and cheese-broccoli. I bought a new stock pot today as well as single serving containers to freeze it. Once they are frozen, we'll put them in the vacuum bags.

Oh, I thought you were making soup for a souper bowl. I have to figure out what soup I am making for our souper bowl at work. I am thinking about making a cold soup- perhaps chocolate, mango, strawberry, or mixed berry.:confused3 :confused3 Or maybe bread or drinks. I was thinking cold soup because it could be dessert like, as I think just about everyone is bringing soup.

I can't believe I'll be in Disney World in 34 days! I still have to order P&P party tickets and we may book a Segway tour. Our ME tickets came yesterday. Otherwise, I think everything is all set.

I love the Strawberry Soup at 1900 Park Fare. I think it is the first time I've tried it. It was fantastic. One of the reasons that I want to go back there. We have dinner reservations there on March 4.

I wonder why they don't decorate iasw in WDW for Christmas. :confused3

From my Christmas at Disneyland research, they decorate several of the attractions at Disneyland- IASW, Haunted Mansion, they used to decorate Country Bears Jamboree but do not anymore due to copywrite issues.

My thought as to why they do not decorate the attractions at WDW is because WDW is much larger then DL is. It takes a much longer time to decorate all of WDW then it takes to decorate DL.

That's my thought at least, but I could be totally wrong.:cool2:

How fun! I wish I could be going back soon. Maybe I'll get adventurous like Janet and book a solo trip. Probably not. ;)

Chris and I have been playing on the webkinz site tonight. We were seeing who could find more words in the wordsearch game. I made it to a higher level :lmao:

I'm headed to bed very soon. Tomorrow will be a day of skiing, but not until noon. We can ski until 9 PM though. I don't think we will last that long.

Night skiing (shudder). It makes me very nervous. I don't like the flat light. I'd rather get up early and have the fresh, unchopped powder, then head in when the sun starts to get low in the sky. I haven't been for several years, probably since Nicholas was a toddler. Bob loves to ski and just went up to PA on Monday with a friend of his. He keeps wanting me to go but as I get older I hate the cold more and more.

Have fun tomorrow!

I'm heading to bed too. Goodnight all.

Mom is almost done ripping CD's. I love her but she can wear me out. She is so worried about my sister and the kids that she goes on & on about it. My sister & the kids can use some pixiedust and prayers. I can't go into details but they are dealing with some very tough stuff right now.

I am sorry Vicki...know they are continuously in my prayers

so The Game Plan was a much better movie than I was expecting...still corny and predictable but good!!:goodvibes

Wow! You all have been extra chatty today!

Elin, fantastic pics! Loved the DL ones! We really need to make a trip out to DL soon!

Bernadette, thanks for posting the Disney PhotoPass pictures! Yours and Robyns are great! The girls looked so cute in my SSP!

Never heard of it.
Do a search on google. Oprah had some Dr Oz on and he reccomended it.

You're very welcome, I'm knocking on wood as I type this, but I have actually felt better today. I have poured several soft drinks down the drain trying to find a diet one that I can stand, I think the winner will be diet Sunkist. Crystal light isn't that bad either, I am a Dr. Pepper-a-holic, so giving that up is a big hurdle, but a necessary one. I have tried diet Dr. Pepper and it just won't do.

My oldest DD is coming over tomorrow and I plan on sending her home with some groceries, DH said we needed to throw them out, but that would be a waste.
Good Luck. I was a regular Coke fanatic and switch to diet Dr Pepper. I like diet Pepsi better than diet coke.

There are several digital scrapping sites (if you just google). There are some that have free stuff, but if you're looking for something specific you have to pay. Still, the price is cheaper than paper embellishments, and you can reuse them forever, repeatedly! Other times, you can use photoshop tricks (like bevels, shadows, etc) to make clip art or parts of photos, or just shapes (like a rectangular "ribbon") to add texture, depth, etc.

ETA: There are some tutorials available that I took when I first got photoshop... they aren't related to scrapping, but they are great to teach some of the tools that the software offers. Then I think, for me anyway, it just took lots of playing around -- and still, as you can see, some things turn out better than others.
I was looking at the forums on mypublisher and some of the folks have some nice books. Maybe I'll just start try that. They seem to have more layouts than Kodak.

I didn't get as much accomplished today as I hoped. I am afraid I'm coming down with what Chuck has. He is miserable. He can't get warm, his throat is sore, etc. I ended up laying down for a nap with him and I slept for 2-1/2 hours. I hope it doesn't get any worse.
:wizard: Hope you don't get sick.

The project that I'm working on had a fantastic day today. We had one team do 200 machines in one day. Another team has a really tough site and they got a little more than half done in one day. We weren't sure it could be done in 2 days so that is fantastic! I'm so excited. The staff are really taking up the challenge and proving they are awesome!
:woohoo: That is great!

Don't you love getting your ME tickets!

I'm sure you'll have a blast there!

Hi, DDA!

Souns like everyone has had pretty good Saturdays, except for those still feeling under the weather. Lots of :wizard: :wizard: for each of you!

Elin - what great DL photos! I remember seeing the Remember...Dreams Come True fireworks for the first time and was  at all Tink could do. Jonathan was cracking up because I kept saying "Oh my gosh, Oh my gosh!" :rotfl: I'm glad you had a nice trip.

Jennifer (and Clare) - WOW!!!!! I love those digital scrapbooks! :worship: :worship: Now, that is what I need to get into (you know, whenever I find spare time). I would probably need lots of help on layout ideas though, since I am not as creative as I once was. I can't make up my mind on decorative stuff these days to save my life.

Elizabeth - wish DS a "happy b-day"! I hope you survive the birthday party! Did you have to bring up cake again? ;)

All this talk of b-days had me smiling. :goodvibes I honestly thought I might be pretty depressed at 30, but it wasn't too bad. I do sometimes find myself almost replying 29 when someone asks me how old I am - it just seems I can't get used to the number!

Kristine - good luck with Vista! Right about the time I bought my new laptop earlier this year, Dell had gone back to offering Vista or XP (for a while they were just offering Vista). Needless to say, I opted for XP! Hope you can get it all figured out.

Vicki - lots of continued prayers and :wizard: for your sister and her kiddos.

Debbie - glad to hear today was a good day for you. I actually can tolerate Diet DP (cannot abide any Coke products, though), and also like Diet A&W Root Beer. Good luck with all the changes!

Jen - I wasn't on last night, but  for you. Your ex sounds like he's trying to convince himself that he's better off without you (and having a hard time doing so!).

Marti - good to see you! I hope you're on the mend soon!

Robyn - amazing PhotoPass pics!

Karen - lots of   :grouphug: :grouphug: for your family. I'm so sorr to hear of your grandmother's passing. It's never easy. Definitely keep us posted as to your plans this spring!

Amy - yay for hearing a heart beat! :yay:

Theresa - I hope Cassidy has fun tonight!

Whew - you guys have been chatty!

Actually, there are no more Country Bears at DL. They vanished several years ago, to make room for Pooh Bear.
