DDA Chapter 3

I just set the coffee pot for tomorrow. Have to get up and make my ADRs!! I bought 2 boxes of Starbucks "samplers" at Target when Christmas stuff was 75% off. I didn't realize the coffee was mostly "Bold" and "Extra Bold" varieties. The one I made today wasn't too bad (I made it pretty weak) but now we are on to the next packet and it is so strong that the ground coffee in the packet doesn't even smell nice. It is mixed with the end of the packet from this morning, though, so hopefully it won't be that bad. The funny thing is those packets are supposed to make ONE pot of coffee.

Not in our house either! My dad was making some of the coffee his company sells to give away at our garage sale. He came out to me and said..."do you know that you're supposed to use 12 heaping tablespoons to make a pot of coffee? Your mom doesn't use anywhere near that." Um, yup. I know, Dad. That's the way we like it. We use about a regular tablespoon or so per 2 cups of coffe.

Tia, don't be so hard on yourself. I wouldn't think that Terra would have the energy to play outside or the appetite to eat dinner and two yummy desserts if she feels too terrible. Hopefully her coughing will subside, and a doctor's visit won't be necessary.

Thanks, Amy. I apologized to her a little bit ago and said that I was sorry if my decision made her couging worse. She looked at me all sweetly and told me that it was okay because she really really needed to make that snow daddy and that she would feel better soon.

I have never tried shmoes before. But with getting dessert with the DDP, I tried them at 50's Prime Time Cafe.
Awesome.

I've been sitting here listening to Disney music on Live365. So far I've heard the AK parade, Wishes! and now Illuminations. I thought of you, Anne Marie, when you ran out of Le Cellier to catch the ending of it.

Bob and I are going out to dinner in a little while. Hopefully we can talk Disney.

So apparently I'm a bad mommy. Terra has had a cough for week or two. It started with the congestion a week or so ago and the cough is lingering. The last couple of days it has gotten a little worse - deeper and more hacking. So what do I do today....let her play outside for an hour. The temps weren't terrible - mid40s when we were out - and I did bundle her up a lot, but it was still chilly. I just felt so bad because she wanted to build a "Snow Phil" and do some sledding so much. So we build the Snow Phil, took a few runs down the hill, I pulled her a few circles around the yard and we had a great snowball fight. Lots of fun all around. However, she hasn't stopped coughing since we came inside. Not much coughing while we were out, but constant now. Hopefully it will clear up by Monday, but if not, I think that it's time to call the doctor.

No your not a bad mommy!!! Daniel does that ..coughs like crazy in the house , goes out into the cold & doesn't cough at all. Hope she feels better in the a.m.!

Ok I am a doofus, cause I was wondering how you got the cat on board.

We just got home from cheesecake factory. Cobb salad & the godiva chocolate cheesecake for me...Burrito & banana cheesecake for Dana. Daniel had a birthday party for his friend (who lives afr from us) so we went over there to kill time before we had to pick him up again.

I am feeling much better, thanks for all the well wishes. Katie's still fighting a slight fever..I think we will be back at the doctors with her on Monday.

Well, you should have talked to me...I'd have given you my recipe for pizza meatloaf muffins! They're a winner.

Well then hand it over!! Phil's favorite thing I make, probably, is turkey meatloaf. He'd be a happy camper if I'd make it a few times a week. I do it as muffins too. It just cooks so much more quickly that way.

Ok. Here ya go:

Pizza Meatloaf Muffins

1 egg, beaten
1/2 C. pizza sauce
1/4 C. breadcrumbs
1/2 tsp. Italian seasoning
1 1/2 pounds ground beef
1 1/2 C. shredded Mozzarella cheese

In a bowl, combine egg, pizza sauce, bread crumbs and Italian seasoning. Crumble beef over mixture and mix well.

Divide between 12 greased muffin cups; press onto the bottom and up the sides. Fill center with cheese.

Bake at 375 degrees for 15 to 18 minutes or until meat is no longer pink.

Serve immediately with additional pizza sauce if desired.

I like to add some chopped pepperoni or olives to the indentation before filling it up with cheese.

I have gotten rid of the kids from hades! My house is not too wrecked, so I'm pretty happy! I do have 4 very cranky kids, however. They spent the last 2 nights staying up too late with their cousins. Looks like we'll have dinner and then to an early bed for them! Good thing, too! Alan brought home the movie Catch and Release to watch. I'm looking forward to it.

Amy - it's been great actually being online the same time you are! That doesn't seem to happen too much lately. Just like old times, eh?

Oo, I really like that movie! Enjoy your evening. I hope that a good night's sleep finds the kids right as rain tomorrow. Thank goodness the house survived this visit! I was wondering if you meant they would be there 3 whole days and nights, but was afraid to ask.

Chanon - Love the crusin' cat and the name tag.

Debbie - Great page! Keep trying the whole wheat pasta. It will grow on you. After having just that for a few years now, I love it and don't like the regular stuff near as much any more. As for the low fat cheese, I'm not sure there. It hasn't grown on me yet. Oh, but do you have Cabot cheeses around there? That was one lower fat cheese that I really liked! Also, the Horizon's low far cheddar, but it's also organic and thus much more expensive.

Elin - Sounds like a dream trip!! If I ever get a chance to go solo again or when Terra gets a lot older, I would highly consider a deluxe dining type of plan. A chance to try some of the really nice places and eat anything I want without the experience being wasted on those who could care less. Ahhh...heaven.

I hope all of the sickies are gone from DDA homes quickly!

well im home from dinner--it was fun, but im exhausted
But i got to talk to Frankie--one of our new friends that works on cruise ships--he only can use his cell phone on saturdays so it was so nice to talk to him.

I had an interesting experience tonight though--i did a split in the ladies room haha
I went to get a paper towel and there was water on the floor and i basically did a split--grabbed onto the sink so i didnt fall---my brothers girlfriend was in the bathroom with me and was hysterical..thats my dumb move for the night!
