DDA Chapter 3

I hope that varmint doesn't see his shadow!

Thanks, Elizabeth. I agree that money isn't everything. If it were, I wouldn't be a teacher! :rotfl: She realizes it too. She is making good money now and not liking her job much these days. The non-profit agency that offered her $15,000 more than she makes now is not her first choice because she fears she will soon tire of writing the spin required. It is also located outside of Boston in Lexington. Her dream is to live and work in downtown Boston. The second company, her favorite (and mine as you will soon see :rolleyes1), is located in downtown Boston with a younger staff and a chance to be very creative in her writing. I think that if they come back with anything additional she will be writing about these little baubles from Hearts On Fire:

:wizard: :wizard: :wizard: I hope the Boston firm come through with a better offer!:wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

I'm home!!!! The roads are horrible, but I had not trouble as I was prepared. There wer only 4 of us at work and it was slow, but not as horrible as I had expected. All in all not a total loss :thumbsup2

Thank you. Colby wants me to make him a shirt that says chick magnet :goodvibes He tells me that all the girls  him :lmao:

Hunter has always had that effect on girls. He is nice looking and he is quite the charmer too.

Glad you're home safe!

I've got one here that would agree with Colby and one that would agree that Hunter is a charmer. ;)

:rotfl:

Love that guy.

So now he says he would like to bring his DD. We would need a 2 br, as the studios and 1 br only sleep 4. I can't afford the pts. for a 2 br, so he might be renting his own points. I'm trying to talk him into him buying into DVC because if the 5 of us will be traveling we will definitely need them.

Anne Marie - how come the reg. rooms at BC sleep 5 but the villas don't? Any idea?

I believe, per my guide, that you can book 5 in a one bedroom at any DVC Resort. I would call member services first. They will not provide additional bedding, but it can be done.

Only 4 more photos to go but we just had thunder rattling the whole house so I think I should shut my computer off.

There is a back hoe doing something on the street behind us????:confused3

The cheese broccoli soup that I made is awesome. Katrina is eating some tonight as well. It freezes really well. We had bought some Schwan's cheese broccoli soup and I'm using the same instructions to heat it up in the microwave. Katrina & Pete both really like it as well. Mom said that I could make some for her as well. I think this recipe was definitely a success.

Would you mind sharing the recipe? I love soup and this one sounds like it's good!

I just heard on the news that we had record rainfall today, 2.5 inches. That would be 25-30 inches of snow!

I thought I had heard that too, but since I haven't gotten my planning guide I don't know. It's a hot topic on the DVC threads, as people are adamant about booking only 4 in a studio, so who knows.

That is a horrible situation for all involved. I'll pray for peace in whatever they do. Is there a family member that would consider adopting the baby?

Alan and I considered adopting the baby. However, Lydia lives 3 houses down from us, and that could be a bit awkward. We talked with her and her parents about it, and she feels strongly that she needs to go through this agency. They are helping her find a couple, and she is really at peace with the decision.

I think it is one bedrooms, not studios. I would call CRO to just make sure.

I understand the issue of family adopting and having Mom nearby. I'm sure she is making the right decision

o i forgot its groundhog day tomorrow--its my moms bday so i always forget the other part!

have a great night all--im off to bed

I'm caught up and heading to bed. We are supposed to have bowling in the morning, provided the weather improves overnight.

We're getting it right now.

I was at WDW once when it rained something like 4+ inches in one day. It rained so hard that the next day the turnstyles at Epcot were broken so I got in for free!!!!:cool1: But my good sneakers were so wet that they were still soaked after a few spins in the dryer so I wore a light weight pair and I ended up breaking a bone (stress fracture) in my foot.

Cheese-Broccoli Soup

4 T butter
1-1/2 c chopped broccoli (all fresh veggies please)
1-1/2 c chopped carrots
1-1/2 c chopped celery
1 small onion diced
1/4 lb. canadian ham, diced
1/4 c water
1/3 c flour
4 c milk
1/3-1/2 lb. velveeta cheese
1/2 can undiluted cheddar cheese soup
1/8 t garlic powder
1 T parsley flakes
1/2 t salt & pepper

Combine butter and veggies, ham and water. Cook on medium heat for 15 minutes. Stir in flour. Slowly add milk. Boil to thicken. Lower heat, add cheeses and seasonings. Do not boil again, just heat through. Use a very heavy pan to keep from scorching the milk. Can be doubled and frozen.

To reheat if frozen (we freeze in single serving sizes): Heat, covered, on high for 4 minutes. Stir. Heat for 1-2 more minutes.

I think it would be even harder on her and the child to have someone in the family adopt. That was really awesome of you & Alan to consider it though.

Good Morning,

I have been up for hours, can't sleep, so here is what I've been doing,

chefmickeys.gif

I really need to take notes, or use the multi quote, so I can respond to everyone.

Chanon - much better!

Tammi - I would choose Rose & Crown, we didn't care for the food at Beirgarten, too much vinegar, but the deserts were wonderful. We've never tried the Plaza, but I enjoy Tony's, after a week of "fancy" food, we enjoy something simpler, I like sitting in the outer section and people watching as we eat.

Bernadette - I say go for it, it's an awful long walk to the Pop bus stop, and carrying Emma would not be a lot of fun.

Glynis - prayers for your niece

Elin - Congrats to Kathrin, I love the baubles!

Heidi - Prayers for your sister

The more I think about it, the more I am considering driving to Disney our next trip, it only takes a little over eight hours. In the past we have driven half way and spent the night, making our arrival early in the am. We do the same thing on the way back, which allows us a pretty full day in the park before heading out, even with two hotel stays we come out way ahead. I do think I'll invest in a GPS system if we start driving, DH and I are famous for taking "scenic" routes.
