DDA Chapter 26

I find it hard to get men to finish projects. I think that is why I do everything around here myself. I like to make progress. I still have plenty of projects here to complete, but I'm feeling good about what I've accomplished.

Be careful. Riding in a wheelchair is NOT the same as lying in bed.

I will check with my OB on Thurs to make sure she is okay with that

We got a lot done this weekend. We got all 4 bedrooms cleaned, dusted and vacuumed. Laundry is caught up. Christmas presents wrapped and upright freezer cleaned. Lots off my to do list, but some bigger things still looming. I have to empty out our master bedroom closet, purge a bunch of junk, change clothes around and finish installing the floor. I've spent more time thinking about doing it than it would actually take me to do it. Someday...someday.

Hi all:wave2:

This was my first Black Friday as a worker and not a consumer...these Marylanders take Black Friday much more seriously than I have ever seen. BUT....it was actually worse working yesterday.....so many dang things to put away and people were a big mess!!

It was extremely hard to work 2 8 hour days in a row.

Gentle reminder time-ornaments are to be sent by next Monday. Can't wait to see pictures!!

Bernadette-I hope the pain subsides soon. I can commiserate with both the foot and mouth pain...and I am sorry.

Marci-you got great advice on the short sleeve shirts. I am so glad to see you posting. :lovestruc

Deb-you are super woman!! (and I told Jennifer the same thing about going to see Santa:rotfl:)

Glynis-so glad to see you!! Hope your dad comes to you for Christmas

Jen-sounds like an awesome weekend!!

I will be on more this week...I am only working 12 hours:sad2:

Good morning, DDA! I loved the long weekend with everyone home (or with me at my parents' house), and I'm not quite ready to be back in the "real world." Laura isn't feeling well today. I insisted that she stay home, so I hope that she doesn't miss anything too important. I already know that she'll have to make up PE or lose 5 points for the marking period. It's too hard to be sick in high school.

It seems like everyone has already decorated for Christmas, and I haven't done a thing. I feel very behind!

Jennifer, I am sorry about your bed rest. I know that must be hard. At least it's not too much longer and it's for a great reason.

Bernadette, I hope that you are in less pain soon!

Marci, I hope that your healing is quicker than you expect.

This Dallas trip has been great,,minus the loss! Today was the icing on the cake though. They have an ICE exhibit at the hotel we stay at so we had tickets but still had to wait for awhile...no big deal, we just chatted with people in line like it was disney. We went thruogh and it was great! As we were walking out, you go up 3 steps then a ramp. I was going up the three steps, they were escorting someone down that bumped into me. As I tried to say sorry, I looked up and looked right into the face of one of my favorite cowboys players-jason witten! So I said "Hi Jason, how are you?" He looked, smiled and was like "Im great, thanks, how are you?" He was there with his wife and kids and was as nice as could be..no one else recognized him but me! We all had on the same blue parkas...it was awesome!

It sounds like a great trip!

Good morning,

Yesterday we saw Tangled. It was cute & we all liked it. Then we went to Target in the afternoon & they still had some doorbuster sales going so we got a new DVD player for $20 for the family. I bought Elf the movie for $3.99. Also picked up some lights for outside. We came in, ate leftovers, & then watched football (well the men watched it, I did some Christmas shopping online - almost done!:thumbsup2) & then we all watched Enchanted.

Have a great day!

I'm glad to hear that Tangled was good. We need to find a time to go soon. Yay for the $20 DVD player and Elf!

Where is everyone today? I'm getting kind of lonely here. Plus there is nothing new to read so I have to keep doing things around the house :sad2:
I ran a few errand tonight and hit BJ's. I had a bunch of coupons that were going to expire and it was all stuff that we regularly use. Came home and decided it is plenty cold enough to keep frozen stuff cold outside so we emptied our big freezer and are letting it defrost tonight. We'll clean it in the morning and restock it. The frost has really built up so it really needs to be done.

You always get so much done. I need to take lessons from you! I'm sorry that I haven't been around much lately. It's a combination of being very boring and yet being too busy. That's a bit of a contradiction, I know.

Morning, all! We have been digging out of our latest storm. We now have six to eight inches in our yard!

Timothy is sick with a nasty cough. It makes me worried, given the RSV we fought last winter. With that in mind, he and I are staying in today! I'll be spending my time cleaning the house for decorations. Alan promised that if I get the house ready, he'll climb into the attic when he gets home tonight to get out the boxes. The kids and I have a game plan, so hopefully, it will all get done!

Quick question: do any of you have a tried and true gingerbread cookie recipe? The kids want to decorate gingerbread men, and I've only ever bought the dough in a roll. I'd like to try some from scratch, as long as I've got a recipe people have had good success with!

Have a good day everyone, and STAY WARM!!!

I think on sunday I am going to borrow dads wheel chair as he is not using it anymore and have Jeff take us to the outdoor mall near our house. Santa will be their and we can take pics of him and the girls with our camera for free.
:wizard:Hope that works out for you!

We spent a hour or so visiting a DIS friend at the local hospital. Her DH feel off a ladder last Saturday and has been in the ICU (surgery too) since last Saturday night. The was airlifted here. They live about 2 hours away so I've been calling her daily, brought her some food on Friday and we went to sit with her and her family for a bit today. Her DH is doing better and will hopefully be release in 4 or 5 days. We know how hard it is to be stuck in a hospital with nothing much to do.
:wizard:Hope he improves quickly! Scary stuff! Our neighbor had a bad ladder fall years ago. He lost his leg. He was older when he fell but lived for years and remained rather active with his prostetic leg.

WOW! You always get so much done! We did some purging a few weeks ago but we have a long way to go.

Bernadette-I hope the pain subsides soon. I can commiserate with both the foot and mouth pain...and I am sorry.
Thanks! :wizard:Hope you're not still feeling the 2 hour shifts.

I haven't done any Christmas decorating. It won't be easy to get DH to do it.

YUCK on the snow!!! I wouldn't want to deal with that now.

:wizard:Poor Timothy!!! Hope he gets over it quickly!!!:wizard:

:wizard:Hope your decorating plans work out.

Everyone always tells me how good my gingerbread cookies are and I have to say I enjoy them too. I always use the Betty Crocker gingerbread cake mix-just follow the directions on the box for cookies. They are really good. Not quite scratch but really good.

I called the dentist and they gave me a 1pm appointment so DH can take me and we should get home before anyone gets home from school. When I told DH the time his first response was "I'll have to rethink my entire day." He wanted to rake more leaves.:confused3:headache: I probably could just drive myself but he will take me.

I took a shower and feel good but my foot is throbbing. It is hard to stay in bed when I feel pretty good and have so much to do.

What a good idea!!! I'll have to check it out! I know those mixes have been on sale lately. I'll check it out next time I go out.

Sorry about your foot and your tooth. How horrible to be hurting on both ends! I hate tooth pain!!! Pixie dust that it all gets fixed soon!

Hope you like the cake mix cookies!

My tooth didn't hurt-just irritating with most of the temp crown broken off. I got the new temp put on today and dentist is going to try to get me in next Thursday afternoon or Friday so I can get the permanent crown in while I'm still on medical leave and won't have to miss more time from work. I get the root canal finished next Thursday morning.

I do have to say my foot isn't too pleased with the trip to the dentist. It much prefers just to stay in bed. I'm icing it now and can take more motrin in half an hour.

I see my doctor Wednesday for a bandage change. I'm glad I have tomorrow in between to rest it.

Bernadette,
Hope you are feeling better soon.:wizard::wizard::wizard::wizard:
Thanks!

I hope all the sickness is gone quickly. Colby has a bit of a cough, but otherwise feels fine. Tomorrow is a half day so he should be able to make it.

Bernadette take it easy. We want you to heal quickly :wizard:

I discovered the delay button on my washer :cool1: Now I can set it to wash just before I wake up or before I get home from work. I can then throw it in the dryer without the unpleasant smell that comes from sitting too long after washing :goodvibes Oh the little things that excite me :lmao:

Morning!
Off to work and then shopping tonight!
It seems everyone is sick here..KI had a few kids out yesterday...i was in bed all day sunday and got antibiotics yesterday--still not feeling 100%

Sickies, be gone! Seems to be the perfect time of year for them, doesn't it? (knock on wood...)

Deb - I am glad you found that delay button on your washer! I am all about finding things like that to tickle my fancy and make my days easier and brighter! :goodvibes
