So, I finally saw the neurologist today, and here is his initial diagnosis,

Atypical Facial Pain /
Persistent Idiopathic Facial Pain

Oh, Debbie... I hope the meds you are taking will ease your pain.

Debbie I pray that the meds work for you:wizard:

My interview went very well. The manager wants to hire me as a full time department manager, but first she needs to 1) make sure she can offer a full time position(they may only hire part time to start) 2) figure out the potential hours and 3) figure out a pay rate. I made it very clear I wouldn't be working for minimum wage or part time. The ball is in her court now. Time will tell. She hoped to get back to me tomorrow. The store is called The Paper Store and this will be the 29th location. Anyone have any experience with them?

I have my second interview with GroSolar tomorrow morning. We'll see how that goes. I'm hoping by Friday to know where I stand with both of those companies plus the one I interview for last week. I'm anxious to know if I have a job or if I need to get more resumes out there.

Oh that would be wonderful Deb. I hope that it works out for you. My fingers are crossed.

Work has been crazy busy/stressful. Lizzy was sick this weekend with high fever vomitting. I'm still waiting for the other 2 to get it.

Debbie-hope the meds work well for you!:wizard: and WOW on that ABC quilt!!!! I'm sure Aubrey will always cherish that!

Vicki-love the photo of you and Chuck running by the castle!

Deb-congrats to Nick!:woohoo: :wizard:Good luck on the job front! The local Fox chanel here does Friday "zip trips" in the summer where they go to towns and focus on that town. On a Friday last summer one town they went to was the "home" of The Paper Store. They interviewed one of the family. It seemed like a great business. There is a store about 20 minutes from me. Really nice. I would think you would be perfect for them!

Theresa-sorry your foot is still giving you troubles! Hope you can find relief soon!:wizard:

Good morning, DDA!

Deb - I'm glad you have some info now. I hope the meds work quickly for you!!

Debbie - Glad that interview went well! Good luck on the second. I hope you have lots of good news by Friday.

Vicki - Fun pictures!

Bernadette - Hope the other 2 (and you and Gene) don't get it too!

I jumped back into the swing of things last night with my first GS Neighborhood Meeting after Deva. Didn't actually do much of it as all of the former Neighborhood Chairs still with us stepped up to run the meeting since I'd been out with Deva and my co-chair had her thyroid removed on Oct 4. She actually just found out for sure that there was cancer and that it was in the lymph nodes so I'm hoping to convince her to let me take on more - she's got several other GS things she volunteers for, plus her troop, plus 5 kids, work and her husband works 2 jobs. Hopefully, she'll let some of us take on more to help her out more.

Now I just need to get a handle on things around the house and my own troop and we'll be back in business. Today, though, I think we might get out and do something fun for Terra.

Quick F&WF question - If someone is going to be in Epcot on a Sunday for F&WF is the evening going to be very busy or should they stick with getting there at opening? I'm trying to figure out what to suggest since there aren't a lot of dining options still available that won't eat up a lot of their one day travelling to meals.

ETA: Also, the other parks close at 5, 7 and 8 if that makes any difference. I'm thinking they should do Epcot late regardless of whether it's a little busier since it's open later than the others and they only have one day.

Your poor co-chair. Hope her treatment isn't too bad.:wizard:

I would expect it to be very busy. I would be at the park at opening and hit the highlights in future world then I would head to the world showcase just before 11am. In years past (I haven't been since 2007) a few of the F&WF booths opened a few minutes early. It would be fun to try a few things before it got too crowded. Then when/if the crowds pick up they can just relax and take in what they can knowing they've already enjoyed quite a bit of it before the crowds hit.

Another uber busy day. I brought the kids to school then headed to my interview. It went really well. Why is it that I always leave interviews feeling like I'll get the job, but still no offers :confused3 I bet they make everyone feel that way. After the interview I called my Dad and he met me at Home Depot. We picked up the materials that we need for our closet project and got those into my basement before the Nor Easter hits us tomorrow. I hadn't planned on starting the project until tomorrow since I had to pick the boys up early for Doctor's appointments. I dropped Hunter back off at the house as he didn't have an appt and Dad was here. At some point Dad cut the wallboard for the door opening. I had it all outlined anyway. Colby's appointment went well and we're not changing his meds since he is doing so well. The doctor was concerned that he had lost 10 lbs, but after a long discussion we realized that he may have been eating to self sooth or cope before his meds. We'll keep an eye on his weight, but I think he really has leveled out. Next was Nick's derm appt. He has had issues with his meds causing him a lot of tummy trouble. The doctor said she has a 14 year old son and if she were in our shoes she would put her son on accutane. After hearing all the pros and cons we have decided to give it a try. He will need to have monthly blood draws and doctor's checks. The med can have side effects, but is much more dangerous for women. If this works he should be acne free in 5 -6 months and should never have problems again. Obviously I hate the idea of meds, but he really does have severe acne and we'll be keeping a close eye on him. If we see any signs of side effects we'll stop immediately.

We came home to a dishwasher that wasn't draining. Still don't know why, but Chris messed with it enough to drain it for now and he'll tear it apart this weekend. I also disconnect a light switch that we don't need and got the wires out of the way. Hopefully I'll get a chance to start building tomorrow though I'll have to do it alone. I'm excited to get this project done.

I forgot to mention that along with the new meds come monthly blood draws. He had his first one tonight and nearly passed out. He had everyone worried. They got "the chair" and flipped him upside down as well as giving him water and crackers and he came around within 10 minutes or so. Scary.

Yikes! Good luck with the future blood draws, Deb. I hope the medicine does it's job and he can get off of it quickly. I know several that it has done wonders for, but those side effects can be ugly if they hit. Hope they stay clear of Nick. Glad Colby is doing well on his current dosage, though. That's great news.

Tia - Weekends at F&W are crowded. Think wall-to-wall people. The only way someone is going to be able to beat the locals around the World Showcase for the food kiosks is to get there right at 11:00, as Bernadette said. We also found that if we are there right when they start serving we can usually do a good job of getting many of the kiosks in before the masses descend after church and before football! The later in the day on any given Friday, Saturday or Sunday we also find that the crowds are more inebriated. This doesn't seem to be quite as bad during the week.

Good morning, DDA! :sunny:

I was down for the count Wednesday night and all day yesterday. I got hit with a nasty stomach bug that kept me from work. You all know that if I didn't teach I was  I spent about 24 hours in bed and most of that time I was asleep. I am feeling much better today and thankful that a co-worker was able to teach two of my classes for me. At some point I will have to make up the other two missed classes. Not quite sure when that will be!

I'm so sorry that it hit you. There is so much yuck going around this year. I'm glad that it was pretty short lived though and that you only have 2 classes to make up.

I just got a call from the retail job prospect and they want to do a second interview at 4 PM today. I assume that means that they will be hiring full time people. I'm still unsure about retail, but since I haven't heard from the other 2 I am certainly not going to close any doors. I'm interviewing with the HR guy from the corporate office. I met him the other night in the bar (that sounds worse that it was :lmao:) I served him dinner. So he has met me and has an idea of my work ethic from observing me then.

Good Morning,

things have been so chaotic around her that I didn't realize how close our next trip is, I need to get my head on straight and get things together.

Heidi, pm me if you want to meet up and we'll exchange numbers.
