I don't know what they sew in Costuming at DS's level. The advanced classes are making 1900 era blouses, and the best ones will be used in an upcoming production.

Cool!

Emma wants to be Kaya for Halloween-not just a Native American she wants to look just like her American Girl Doll Kaya. I guess I might have to see how well I can make my own pattern.:scared1: The patterns I have found-even the "historically accurate" Simplicity one isn't the same as Kaya. I'm ready to try to convince her a vet would be good.

I'm home from work. It was okay. Now I'm getting nervous for Nick. He takes his permit test tomorrow. Please send pixie dust his way. Maybe a little for me too as he will be driving me home if he passes  Where did time go? He was just born yesterday...wasn't he?

Good luck tomorrow, Deb. Oh... and good luck to Nick too! ;)

I just realized that I have more than enough Marriott Reward Points to book a free room! So... I booked the Courtyard Inn at Richmond Airport for Thursday night. I will leave here about 9:30 p.m. after my last lesson and drive down there to sleep.

Then I can get up about 5:30 (instead of 3:00) on Friday morning. I will drive from the Courtyard over to the Wyndham Hotel to leave the car for our Park 'n' Fly reservation. Their shuttle will take me to the airport in plenty of time for my 7:00 a.m. flight and I get a couple more hours of sleep for my troubles.

So my vacation starts a little sooner!! :goodvibes

Nicely done! I'm jealous, but can't wait to hear all about it!

Good luck to Nick, today! And good luck to mom!!!

Colby and Hunter did not have school today. Some sort of teachers day. We are taking it easy though the sun is out so we'll be enjoying some outdoor time. Nick was very nervous before school this morning. I need to dig out his birth certificate, ss card and a utility bill for us. I'm not sure why they can't just look up my license and auto registration info. I'll bring the younger boys to my parents then pick up Nick after school and we'll head off to the appointment. It's about a 30 minute drive to the closest DMV office.

Good luck to you today, Deb. And Nick too!

Good morning.

My antibiotics seem to be doing the trick! :thumbsup2 Feeling MUCH better!

Progress reports came in yesterday for Katie & she has all A's except for sewing!!:headache: She got a C in sewing!! agh! We thought that would be an easy class for her...She's aceing advanced algebra, science, history, & english...all the classes that "matter" & her grade point average will be dragged down by sewing...:sad2:

Glad you're feeling better!! Hope things get better for Katie in sewing. :(

Good afternoon, DDA!

We had Deva's one week check up this morning and she's doing great. Already back up 4 ounces so she should regain her birth weight by next week with no problems. In fact, the doctor said that we didn't need to come back until 6 weeks - just to call if I'm concerned about weight gain at all. Terra also got her flu shot while we were there. She wasn't thrilled with that surprise, but I had forgotten to ask about her getting it then so hadn't thought to mention it. We went to Panera for muffies afterward to make up for it. Now we're just hanging out back at home for the day.

Argh! So I slept kind of funny two nights ago and woke up with a line of pain in my neck down into my shoulders. Now today my entire neck hurts to more or touch. Not fun. :sad2:

My cousin told everyone to clam down that it was just false labor, haha - she had a doctor appointment today and even though the date was moved from the 6th to the 7th the doctor told her to pack her bag now, he will probably come sooner.

Nick did not pass the test. There were some questions that I didn't know the answers to until we looked them up after the test. Car emissions questions, underage drinking and driving questions. He did fine on the straight forward driving questions, signage etc. Now we know what areas to focus on before he takes it again. He was very disappointed of course this was the first test he has failed EVER. And on his birthday to boot. :headache: We did go out to dinner and that was nice although he didn't eat much as he was complaining of a tummy ache.

I hate it when that happens. It seems only time will fix that :wizard:

Very Exciting :cool1:

 My oldest failed her first try, she was an honor student and I think she thought it would be a breeze, good news is she passed on her second try.

Elin and Vicki - have a wonderful trip, wish I were joining you.
