I had a chat with my boss tonight (bar manager). I'm going to pick up another bar night through the end of the year as well as a few extra here and there. At least I will be able to count on 2 nights in the bar and I should still get 2-3 wait nights. Since I can't seem to find full time employment I'll have to work more at my part time jobs.

As much as I love sports...i am not getting much sleep the last couple days! last night, the football game didnt end til late...now tonight another football game and phillies just clinched the division...my brother was at the game and got on tv a few times so im waiting for him to get home..from washington DC!

Good Morning. It's going to be a long day. I don't know how all you single parents do it. I suppose that I'd come up with a routine after a while, but since I don't this week is going to suck. I certainly respect those of you this do this day in day out.

My antibiotics seem to be doing the trick! Feeling MUCH better!

Progress reports came in yesterday for Katie & she has all A's except for sewing!! She got a C in sewing!! agh! We thought that would be an easy class for her...She's aceing advanced algebra, science, history, & english...all the classes that "matter" & her grade point average will be dragged down by sewing...

I'm so sorry Vicki. Sending y'all lots of prayers. Lynn, who occasionally posted on here a few years back, posted on fb that she unexpectedly lost her brother yesterday. It was also a happy/sad day yesterday for me as it would have been my Mother's 69th birthday.

I hope the extra shift helps. I read along but really don't have much to add -- just super busy as always. But-- I had meant to comment on your post about job hunting. First off, the person at that temp agency is an idiot. I would go to several agencies and even talk to a headhunter. It sure can't hurt. Second, and I don't know if this is in every city and industry (I would assume so) but this recession (which headlines recently announced had ended last summer, but we all know that is political speak) has really changed the job market. It used to be much easier for SAHM's to re-enter the job market. One of the problems now is too many people looking for jobs, and when HR is faced with someone who has been continually working, or someone who hasn't used their skills in a while (and yes, I know most SAHM's have better skills than their competition), they more often that not pass over the SAHM's. It's not right, not fair and doesn't make sense, but that is what I see happening to friends, family and the industry I work in.

I'm glad you are feeling better! Sewing -- I might not do that well in it either. There's something really wrong about doing that well in difficult subjects and being tripped up by sewing. We got an A for even trying in that class. How do they give someone a c?

Anne Marie, glad you are feeling better! DS's costuming teacher made the comment that she has never had a freshman run a sewing needle through their fingers because they are afraid of the sewing machines. She said the advanced ones are the ones who tend to hurt themselves! She's a very intimidating woman, but DS THINKS he has a high B in her class.
