We finished stacking the wood that we had split. You would not believe how much wood stacks we have between our house and my brother's. We still have quite a bit to split, but that isn't wood that we'll use this winter. We do have about 3 cord at camp that needs to be split and brought home as it is really dry and starting to rot. That is hardwood so we'll have to get that next month some time. For now we get at least a few weeks break.

Would love to get a reccomendation for a reasonably priced seamstress. We're sailing on our first Disney cruise in the spring and would love to order a couple of custom outfits for my daughters. Thanks! Pm me.

Seriously why does shopping have to be such a pain??:confused3 It is so stressful as I can never find what I need or want. Then I end up buying stuff because I don't care and just want something that might work even though I totally dislike it. I don't think it would be quite so bad if I was within normal sizing charts but I am unfortunately not and it is just a royal pain. But even when I weighed about 50 pounds less I still struggled to find clothing.

Now to wash the stuff I got and then unto packing which I dislike as much or more.:headache::rolleyes1 While stuff is washing I am watching Lilo and Stitch and drinking some wine and hoping my luggage packs itself.;)

Was your teenager still up at 2:30 this morning playing youtube videos loudly and talking to a friend in California? His little brother came in to wake us up because he couldn't get to sleep over the noise :headache: R\That will not happen again.

In my day, it was staying up listening to the radio, reading & writing letters. My sister never told on me. She still talks about how I kept her up all those nights. I was 7 years older than her so she idolized me. Therefore, saving me getting in trouble with mom & dad.

I think I know how you feel...and I know Abi knows how you feel.

mine is a sullen mess!!

I am sure you and Abi do.

I know I have expressed my frustration over it more then once and I am sorry for the duplication in my frustration.

No fun, Becky!! Hope your luggage does, in fact, pack itself (maybe if you drink enough wine it will seem like it did ;) ).

My last 30 min or so were for naught. I was trying to pre-register online with the hospital, but no matter what I do, I can't get past the insurance page. It keeps telling me that I haven't filled in a plan type, but I've filled in ever asterisked thing and can't find anything about a plan type except a drop down that I did choose.

Tomorrow I shall test whether knowing that my 2yo charge is actually "well-behaved" for me makes any difference. I know that I've mentioned that she's a handful and that I struggle some days. However, I've gotten insight into how she is for Mom and Dad and am thinking that I should consider myself lucky. Her mom had already said several times lately "wow, she does xfor you?" - including sitting in the highchair, cleaning up toys and staying in her bed. While sometimes she doesn't want to help clean up and sometimes is more helpful at it than others, I've never had a hint of a problem with the other things. I mention lunch and she gets right into the highchair. Apparently, she won't sit for more than a few minutes for a meal at home.

Well, she was at my shower-dinner last night and WOW! She as out of control. Sat in the highchair for the time it took to eat 3-4 chips and then wouldn't stay there anymore, ran around the whole restaurant on several occasions, ran into the kitchen galley (right by us) twice, almost took out a server carrying a tray with sizzling fajitas on it, refused to sit in mom or dad's lap, cried if she couldn't get down and do any of the above - just to name some. :scared1: When we changed to the restaurant over home due to the lower number of people, her mom asked about the dad coming along too to help "wrangle" to which I said sure. I had no idea just how true that need was (not that he was a big help). Kristi, Mom and I all commented to each other at some point or another that maybe her staying home with dad might have been the better option. Elizabeth, you would have been dying, I know!

The crazy part is that I'm a fairly lenient parent and even I was in shock. Terra never had to stay in the highchair. However she did either have to sit on my lap, next to me or stand right by the table (and had to sit while eating). If she even started to run off she did have to be buckled back in. I also recognized fully that if I was going to take her someplace that I needed to be responsible for taking her right out again if needed.

Even worse, my 7 month old's first-time, often nervous mommy is now terrified of the 2yr age. I could see the fear in her eyes. In fact she said "so this is 2" and the other mom said "yeah, AND this is the example yours is getting." :headache: Katie turned to me and mouthed "help me, Tia!" Tomorrow I will definitely have to reassure her that 2 does more certainly not have to look like that! :faint:

Sounds like we are all going through some of the same things. I am tired of going to battle with her on everything...I am just at the brink of giving up.

Tia, the VAST majority of the charges behave worse with the parents. I am pretty strict, and my charges adapt just fine. I KNOW the kids can behave properly but the parents just don't make an effort. Well, they make an effort SOMETIMES, just not often enough for it to stick. My rules are effective because they never change. The kids know if they weren't allowed to do something yesterday they won't be allowed to do it today, or tomorrow, or ever. Princess is VERY well behaved because her parents DO make an effort all the time.

Now teens...
DS is a little argumentative, but that's how he has always been. I looked at locking internet access on his laptop from midnight - 6 AM through the parental controls, but he would have had to set EVERYTHING back up under the new user account so I just left it alone. If I ever catch him on the computer past midnight on the weekend I will just take the computer away. It is hard to get him to go to bed on school nights, but most nights he's in bed by 10 PM. I have also told him he is NOT to get on the computer before school in the morning. Friday was the halfway point for the marking period so we should be seeing failure notices in the mail this week. I am pretty sure he's failing Biology. Beyond that, not sure. :confused3

My sister wants cupcakes for her shower and I offered to do them. How many chocolate to white ratio should I make?

I have no idea, but chocolate with white frosting are my favorite. I also like red velvet. Yummy

I'm still not feeling great. Sore throat, ear ache and swollen glands. I made myself a doctor's appointment for noon today. This is day 5 so hopefully I can get some antibiotics. I also need something to help me sleep as I just seem to doze lately.

Thats the thing, I think chocolate is more popular. My sister and I both like white cake with white icing. So I guess I will just make more chocolate then white, thanks.

Hope the doctor will give you an antibiotic and that you start feeling better soon.

Preschool orientations this morning went very well. We only have 6 in the 2-day class right now, so it should be an easy start tomorrow. I saw all the kids that I had last year, though, and I really wish I was teaching that class, too. I am looking forward to getting started.

Saturday we had Laura's race about 90 minutes from here. We signed her out after the race so that we could all go to lunch and then to a butterfly conservatory in that area. They prefer all the runners to ride back on the buses, but since we were going that far, I decided to just go for it.

Sunday we went up to Syracuse to give Matthew my old camera and his social security card. We also went to MOST (Museum of Science and Technology). We had a very good time.

Then we had to get back to the real world. Laura had a bunch of homework to do, since she was busy Friday with a cross country pasta dinner, Saturday, and Sunday. She did get it all done, though...or at least that is what I was told. She's old enough to know the consequences if she didn't, so I tend to believe that she did.

Miles' teacher never said anything to him about the forged signature, so I guess we dodged a bullet on that one.

My cell phone did not survive the washing, and I had to order a new one. I hope that it gets here this week.

Heidi, I would think that chocolate would be more popular, but I'm not sure what the ratio should be. I'm sure you'll do a great job with it!

Deb, I hope you are feeling better soon.

Becky, I'm sorry about the clothing shopping. I know.

Anne Marie, I'm sorry about the teenager! I hope that she is a sweetie again soon.

Theresa, I'm sorry about your teenager, too! I hope that she gets comfortable and happy. I'm sure that it will just take some time.
