Okay, we may have it! I might actually have decided on a name. I'm letting it sit with me for a day first, but I think we might finally be there. Woohoo!!! (And yes, I will tell you. Just let me decide for sure. :teeth: ) Phil is all worried that it means he came up with both names since he's the one that mentioned it. (I'd never heard it before.) I told him he didn't choose the name, he was just the live-version of a baby name book that informed me of it. I did the choosing. ;)

So I ran by the mechanics to see if my emissions systems were all up and running for the test. FINALLY, 3 weeks after the repair they were ready! Better yet, it passed. I had this major fear that after all the time and expense it wasn't going to have been enough yet. Now I just need to actually get the new plates for my car. How I've managed to go three months without being stopped for expired plates, I don't know. At least I always had the paperwork to show it was being worked on, but I'm still surprised with as much as we drive, especially in police-happy areas.

yeah good to hear it finally passed

Way to go, Abi!!! And way to go, mom, for the persistence! Sounds like quite the adventure, getting her registered!

I do have to say, though, that gophers are not really a frightening animal. Seems like they could come up with a better mascot! I shouldn't really talk, though, since some of the high schools around here are the Jordan High Beetdiggers, the Delta Rabbits, and the Lehi Pioneers. Not really frightening!
I was a warior and DH an eagle. My kids however are skippers. how scary is that? Good thing they have a very good football team.

That's how I felt by the end of Ramona and Beezus yesterday!
How was Ramona & Beezus? Emma enjoys the books.

I had to share something on here tonight that I haven't told anyone yet but my family. As many of you know I am enthralled with the facebook game "Bejeweled Blitz" and play it at least once a day. (It only takes a minute per round so it is not like it takes all my spare time... :rotfl: ) Well, I just won the weekly lap top giveaway! :yay: PopCap Games shipped my new laptop this morning and I should receive it on Wednesday! It will come fully loaded with every single PopCap game in existence. :teeth: This couldn't come at a better time for me... my laptop is on its last legs!
:woohoo:WOW! How cool!!!

so here's the first baby purchase......and it should answer your questions

Adorable! Love the name! I was so happy to read that you're still hanging on!

I have been having abdominal pain, so I went to the Dr. on Monday, Tuesday I had an entire abdomen ultrasound. The tech 1st told me to call the Dr. if I don't hear anything in 2 days, then she changed her mind and kept trying to hold me there as she said she was trying to expedite something, well eventually she left me go as she couldn't get ahold of the Dr. I called the Dr. this morning and left I message I still don't know what is going on but if she wanted to expedite things I figure something is going on. I need to get bloodwork done as well.
:wizard:Hope you get some answers and relief soon!

Tease!

:banana:Yeah for a fixed car!!!

Okay is it 2011 yet? It has been a crazy year. First dad having cancer and almost dying. Then a co-workers Husband dies unexpectedly this month. Then not one but 2 of my aunts passed away after both being sick for a long time. One 2 weeks ago and one yesterday.

Trip was nice but can't really say great. It was hot-the kids & Gene did better than me because they are more used to it-I'm used to my AC office. Tour groups were insane! Wait times by 11am were crazy. We did just 2 rather full days in the parks the entire trip. Good thing was my foot was actually OK-better than May due to the drugs and less running around. Its hurting now that I've had to stop the drugs.

The DDA meet was the highlight of the trip. Kids had a blast!

Fishing was lots of fun but not as good as last year in the MK area. Guide was good but last year's guide was GREAT. DH's birthday dinner at Flying Fish was wonderful!

Lizzy found lice at Disney.:scared1::sad2: I did however learn how wonderful Turner Pharmacy was. They delivered in just over 1/2 an hour for a $5 delivery charge-the hotel pays for it then charges your room. I had just spent a month dealing with this with Emma but Emma had been free of them for a while before the trip so Lizzy must have found them somewhere at Disney. Now I've got to deal with it with her and Emma again since they shared a bed. I ended up having to comb Emma's hair out every night for about 10 days to get rid of them. I guess I'll be doing lots of combing again.....Not sure how easy that will be after my surgery.

I'm crazy stressed trying to wrap things up at work for my 2 week medical leave. Feeling guilty about being out so soon after vacation but this should get me back in the office before the budget stuff really explodes.

I had my preop visit at the hospital yesterday. They showed me how to use crutches-they said they have better results when they do it before surgery rather then when you're still drugged up after surgery. My doctor said he'd give me a walking boot so hopefully I won't really need them much.

I got my photos on my mac but have to sort and upload. My new camera did take some very nice shots but it isn't a dSLR. I have to say I am glad I didn't have that on the trip-I'm sure that helped my foot too.

I'm in a bit of post Disney funk combined with anxiety about the surgery and worried about missing work. I'll feel better in about 4-6 weeks.

glad to hear your foot did pretty good. Good luck with your surgery.:wizard:

Thanks! The hardest part was getting all of the sensors to reset so that they could actually test. Most cars you drive for 30-45 min and they are all up and running. Volvos are apparently some of the pickiest and it can take weeks to get the last 2-3 up and ready. Even when I did the very specific drive cycles with it last time it still took two weeks. One tech said that his brother's car took a month. I've driven at least 350 miles in the time it took to be ready to test. Then since I had to get the sensors set both before the repair (to make sure it was necessary) and again after, it just took forever!

How was Ramona & Beezus? Emma enjoys the books.

It was pretty cute. I liked it. My only issue was that Beezus just wasn't the bookish Beezus you (or at least I) usually picture. She was much more "Selena Gomez" than "Beezus", but it was still good. There was one scene that bothered Terra for the next week, but it's nothing that would get to most kids and luckily she's mostly past it. I thought they did a good job of incorporating a variety of scenes from many of the books, even managing to appropriatly work in some of the funny things from when Ramona was younger.

I'm glad you had a few highlights to your trip even if it wasn't the best. Lots of luck getting ready for your surgery and plenty of :wizard: to ease your anxiety.

Hope everything was just trying to get out of the way so that you could have a quiet rest of the year! :wizard: :grouphug:

Virginia is becoming such a Daddy's girl. When she wakes up if she does not seem him she asks where's Daddy? She always wants to go by and see him on our way home from my moms on the days I work. Through out the day she will tell me she wants to talk to Daddy on the phone. Is always asking when he will be home.

Tia - I'm glad to hear you have your car back, and that it is fixed and legal! :woohoo:
