That's the same stoller/car seat combo that I got with Timothy. Love it!!!

Elin or Tammi-Question for you! My brother and I want to plan a weekend trip with some friends to Washington DC now that I was SO close and couldnt do anything...So I am looking online at hotels and everything and i have no sense of direction about it.. We want to stay somewhere within walking distance to "tourist" type things! Any suggestions?

We love the Sofitel Lafayette Square. It can be very affordable on a weekend. Great lobby bar and close to everything.

Good Morning. Another cold morning here. Chris has loaded his street rod and headed off to the show. The boys and I will go after school. We're taking the camper with us. I need to finish packing and clean the house. I guess I'd better get moving.

Morning, all! I'm getting ready for bowling and remembered that I needed to let y'all know I'm going to visit my dad for the weekend. Can't wait to see him! He's getting back from Germany today, so it will be fun to see him. I'll be back late Sunday night.

I hope everyone has a great weekend!!!

Have fun this weekend, Deb and Company! :)

Glynis - enjoy your Daddy time. :goodvibes

:wave2: Anne Marie, you crazy kid, you!

Good morning all!

Dr appt was good yesterday. Still 1cm, but over 50% and very low head. Was still feeling something might be imminent when I went to bed last night, but today is back to a more normal feeling. The baby's mom went ahead and took her to another neighbor today and her mom is coming down next week to stay with her. Katie's so concerned about my taking it easy and getting enough rest that she didn't want me to have to worry about having her too. Too bad the baby's the easy one! ;) The 2yo came in a little bit ago and has already thrown two fits about playing in the living room - her spot to play anyway! I laid her down with milk, blanket and Wonder Pets so hopefully she'll go back to sleep since she was apparently up really late last night. Otherwise, I'm just planning to spend the day slowly working my way through the last of the house cleanup for company. Mom doesn't go in to work until 1:30 so she'll be here to help too so that's good. I'm under strict instructions from multiple people to rest today so we'll see how that works out. ;)

Elin - YEAH!!!

Glynis - Have a great time with your dad!

Deb - Have a nice weekend camping. I'll bet Chris is so excited to have the hot rod ready to go for this!!

We need all of the spare prayers we can get around here because, well, my BIL is an idiot who doesn't always think. (Some of that is just how he is and some of it, several of us think, is some of the "altering" of the liver disease. It seems to have affected his memory, for sure, and his judgement some.) Anyway, yesterday B and his twin brother were going to go out geocaching and then skeet shooting. E didn't want him too because she didn't want him spending the money on ammo and clays for skeets. Twin talks him into going anyway. B put the shotgun locked up in the case in the backseat of his car and the went off to go geocaching first. Somehow, they ended up on the property of a highschool that's kind of in wooded area. From what I have heard, they didn't realize the guard shack was occupied and thought they were driving through a construction site next to the school. The went to the back area near the woods, parked the car and got out to hike in and find a cache.

Well, school security finds a "suspicious vehicle" with a gun inside and the school was put on lockdown. Police found B and twin walking down the highway hearby and stopped them. They explained what they were doing and the skeet plans for after and that they didn't realize it was school property. Both were taken in. Twin was released after a couple of hours because he was "just" trespassing. Since the gun was B's, he is in 24-hour holding lock up. This afternoon, they will find out if a charge of unlawful use of a weapon will be pressed. If so, it's a felony charge and then we've got major issues. If not, they'll probably just charge on the trespassing and there will be a fine. Needless to say, E is NOT happy with B and is freaked out about what's going to happen. (Combine it with everything else that's happened with her/them this summer and she's barely holding on, I think.)

While on the one hand I know how serious the situation is especially involving a high school, I also know B well enough that it was just a result of not being aware enough of his surroundings and really thinking things through. Twin doesn't help matters as he is very much a "nothing bad happens to me" kind of attitude (only solidified by his walking out of the jail 2 hours later and facing nothing significant). When E went to pick up the kiddo from grandma yesterday evening, twin was pulling out of the drive to go out geocaching again on his own. I'm actually not sure what my prayer is today other than that everything works out for the best all around. While I don't want to see a felony charge, I hope B sees how serious things really can be and puts that knowledge to use in the future too. Ai yi yi, the messes that happen sometimes!

:wizard::wizard:Wow, that could be very serious. I hope everything works out for the best :hug:

PSA for all you droid users.....Under Cover Tourist now has a ride time app for Android!!!

Deb and Glynis - have fun this weekend!

Tia - sorry for all your troubles. But I agree, try to destress and rest.

Jen - I have no advice for hotels in DC. We only go up for the day and then drive home. Just find somewhere within walking distance to a metro stop, then you'll be set.
