Well I am sure I am going to see pigs flying outside my window at any momemt!:scared1:

Kate got home from her run through at HS & she really liked it!!:yay: She only had positive things to say about the school, kids, & teachers..even her schedule...ok someone has replaced my daughter! :lmao:

I hope she continues to have positive things to say about all of them.

Sorry to hear so many are in a funk,

I was hoping to hear news about Becky and Kristine

So, just to prove me right or wrong, I have a question to ask,

When you think of Hurricane Katrina, what comes to mind?

Haven't heard anything from Becky, but Kristine posted that she went home. At least for the time being.

When I think of Hurricane Katrina I think of the faces.

Hope the headaches go away, Jennifer. We need pictures when the painting is done. AND we need pictures of your babies too. :goodvibes

Surgery went well, they are keeping me overnight for observation. Thanks for all the well wishes.

I hope the funks leave us all alone soon. I think it is probably the change in seasons and a return to the "same old, same old" that often triggers that yucky feeling. Good luck crawling out of it, everyone!

Thinking of you today, Becky.

I haven't been on facebook yet this morning but it sounds like Kristine needs our thoughts too.

Vicky - We are AAA members but have not done a AAA WDW trip in decades so I am no help there. But I will say that your co-worker's paperwork ought to tell him a lot about what those things are and how to use them.

We reviewed a lot of the paperwork together. I got him a lot of information. He was grateful for the help. I shared info on the photopass, child swap, fastpass, transportation, park hopper, park hours, ... I'm excited for him. He has my number if he needs anything while he is there.

How could he possibly need anything?? You have him all set!

How my daughter loved her name until the Hurricane ruined that for her. New Orleans and lots & lots of water.

The reason I asked about Katrina, is there is a huge feeling of resentment here about it. This weekend is the 5th anniversary,

Contrary to what most people believe, Katrina actually hit Mississippi, hundreds of people died and thousands of people were left homeless, but all you hear about is New Orleans, the levees broke after the storm had passed and flooded the city, which is something they knew for years could and would happen. Not to downplay what did happen in New Orleans, it was a terrible tragedy, but not the only tragedy from the storm.

Becky - glad you are doing well

You know Debbie, my second thought was that if it weren't for you that I wouldn't know that it had such an impact on Mississippi. I wondered if that was why you were asking. I can imagine all the frustration about it with those of you in Mississippi that were so hard hit especially when it was only a matter of time before New Orleans levees broke (and the new ones will break again someday).

Very exciting:goodvibes

Hang in there Kristine:wizard:

I hope you do well tonight Becky. Hopefully you'll be home tomorrow.

I have been taking pics as it goes along. Will try to get them uploaded on Friday,

Thanks, Tammi. I had gotten the email from Tables in Wonderland late yesterday afternoon with a link to the booking site and have already planned what I want. Just waiting for 9:00! :goodvibes

I will join those of you in a funk. I'm sure that I'll work my way out of it soon, but for right now, it's easier just to go along with it.

I spent most of the day yesterday cleaning and prepping at the preschool. (Unpaid time...) They decided to run our class with the 5 students registered and hope for a few more. It should be an easy year in that respect. ;) We have planning next Tuesday, another day or so in cleaning/prepping the classroom, and several days prepping projects, etc. (More unpaid time...)

We received the proof book and price list for Laura's senior pictures. I really like a couple of them, but the prices are outrageous. I knew that they would be high, because Matthew went to the same place two years ago. They have increased enormously since then...in two years! :confused3 I just can't afford to order much. The sitting fee and what they charged me for the useless proof book was 4x what I paid for Matthew. The picture packages haven't quadrupled in price, but they are about 1.5x the price and come with fewer options. I think that I'm just going to do some myself. I'm beginning to think that senior pictures are quite the scam. I'm hoping that I can get her to cooperate with me taking some to have made into the wallets and also for my parents. They won't be professional, but they will be good enough.

Matthew e-mailed that they are getting settled well in the apartment. They biked to the grocery store yesterday and said that it's not a bad ride at all. As long as they don't need to buy too much or anything too heavy/bulky that will work well for them. One roommate has a friend with a car that visits once or twice a month so they will plan the bigger trips for then. I still miss him, but I'm glad that he is doing well.

Laura can't find the paper detailing her summer project, so we will be searching her room and the house for that today. She needs to take the lead and get this done. She's too old for me to be walking her through it. (That doesn't mean that I won't be doing a lot of nagging in the coming days.)

Kristine, I'm still thinking of you and sending plenty of pixiedust: that time will go quickly and you'll have a beautiful baby in your arms.

Becky, I hope that you heal quickly and don't have too much pain.

It's great that so many of the DDA kids are having terrific first days of school. I hope they all stay that way!

I feel like we were at Disney World 100 years ago.
