DDA Chapter 26

So Sabrina had a weight check yesterday. She has only gained 1 oz in 4 days. So the pedi wants me to give her 1 oz of formula after I direct BF her. She has not had a dirty diaper at all today. Only wet. I hope the formula does not constipate her. Luckily we had a few bottles that the nurses at the hospital gave us. But not sure they will last til Mon. when we go back to the Dr.

Good morning, DDA! :sunny:

This is my first post using my phone. Hope it works!

It did work! :yay:

I am sitting at Kristin's eye doctor's office. This is her fifth trip since the middle of November. There is a new doctor here and this woman has messed up her contact prescription four times. She missed the fact that Kristin had an astigmatism the first time! I have lost track of all the other problems but I offered to come as silent support. She us in with the doctor now. I have not heard any raised voices ... yet. ;) Oh, I forgot the most important part. Her prescription has not changed. Not at all. So there is NO excuse for this!

Good morning DDA!

1 inch of snow on the ground (roads are clear) & we have snow day #2. So funny coming from NY & seeing how this is handled in the south. Kids are happy & having friends over to keep them busy. I had a job interview today but thankfully they were fine with rescheduling since they can't drive on 1 inch of snow either!:lmao:

Good morning!
I have my first snow day of the year--the kids will be thrilled! We got about 6-7 inches but it all came overnight..luckily, they cancelled last night, which was great!

I hope she starts gaining soon:wizard:

:rotfl::rotfl:

We had about six inches when I drove to work this morning. Roads weren't even plowed, but it wasn't too bad to navigate. I expect a foot on the ground before I drive home tonight. The kids have their first snow day. We got the first call at 5:22 and the second about 20 minutes later. No idea what they are doing, but I'm sure they'll keep each other occupied.

Elin,
Sounds frustrating!!! Good luck! :wizard:

After I posted that I heard somewhat raised voices and was a bit surprised. Kristin is non-confrontational. Turns out the doctor was raising her voice! Not at Kristin but at the support staff who seemingly forgot to mention the phone call from Kristin telling her that there was something wrong with the last trial lens she had been given. So, when the contacts were finally ordered, of course they were the wrong prescription! The office manager called Kristin this morning (after first calling here and being told for the 4th time that this was not Kristin's phone number... ) and they are going to pay for the new contacts with no problem (they initially wanted her to buy the new ones!). After this is all finished she plans to write a letter because this is a local chain, small but very well known and usually well thought of. I have heard twice already today that others are unhappy with the loss of the doctor that used to be at this location. Gee.... I wonder why??? Seems the support staff is not particularly good either!

I'm so stressed tonight. Nick has been working out with Chris the last couple of nights. Last night he finished the workout then said he had been a bit dizzy at times. Tonight he made it 20 minutes then quite. Soon after he complained that I looked blurry from about 15 feet away. When questioned about it he said that he had been seeing blurry from time to time for a couple of weeks. Now he said it may be even longer. I have no idea if this is related to the brain thing, something totally different or maybe a side effect of the acne meds. I called the Neurologist on call since his neurologist still hasn't followed up with us and she said that since it isn't life threatening she'll pass the info along tomorrow. Chris and I are both concerned. Nick says he isn't too worried since it happens all the time. Why can't my kids be normal?

I'm so sorry, Deb! I hope you get some answers tomorrow and a thorough response from the doctors. I'd probably be worried too, though I also understand Nick's thinking. In grad school I had a doctor ask me why I'd never had my headache's/migraines checked out. I told him that I'd had them for so long, my mom and grandma both had them a lot, etc that I just thought it was normal. Hugs to you and Chris and know that we're praying for you too.

Deb - I am sorry this is such a trying time for you. Just a possibility.... is Nick hydrating enough? Especially with the workouts he needs to keep lots of water in his system.

He says that he is hydrated. I did a skin pinch test on him and it sprang right back. That was my first thought too.

Deb - sending many good thoughts your way

Jennifer and Tia, you're also in my prayers

Good Morning.

Ride in wasn't bad at all this morning. Now to get to work and forget about things for a little while

Deb-I am so sorry!! It seems to never end, does it? Prayers sent

Jennifer-Abi only pooped every few days when she was a baby and never was constipated. She also didn't pee for three days right after she was born...until the doctor held her up. I am sure he changed his coat after us :lmao::lmao:

With the bankruptcy I needed to do a post filing online class and stay on it for 2 hours (federal court mandated). Well, this class was a rehash of what I had done before the filing in less than a half an hour so I surfed the web. I can file for divorce in Maryland after being here a year and not "be" with Jim during the separation....gee, I think I could do that since even talking to him or the mere mention of him sets my eye to twitching. Of course, he picked the absolute worst lawyer for this and insisted 6 days before the discharge was supposed to be (this last Tuesday) that I HAD to come to Colorado for it.:headache: I had been telling him from the start that I wouldn't spend the money for plane tickets, housing, food and lose at least 2 days of work for a meeting that was supposed to be less than an hour. There are ways around it, his lawyer's office just didn't look into it and he did his usual hide his head in the sand. I told him that I was done 3 years ago cleaning up after this crap and he had to clean this one up himself. Turns out I was right:eek::rolleyes1 and they will call me for a discharge meeting in early February AND Jim hadn't done the class so they would have had to postpone anyway.:headache:

Sorry, I didn't mean to be so long winded....can't post this on facebook (even on the DDA page) because my girls might see it. I am trying very hard to keep my problems with Jim away from them. Though I did get upset with his sister on Facebook...I've got to stop reading her responses to Cassidy's posts.
