I know that Bernadette has ordered a cake.
I didn't quite order it yet. I talked to them in May and I'll order it when I get there.:thumbsup2 I think we'll have to take a taxi to SSR-I can't imagine trying to carry a cake on a bus.

When do you get to SSR? I'll have to call & get you treehouse number.

Thanks Terry,

How are you feeling?

Hi Debbie,,,every day gets better. I finally saw an ENT and he feels that I have Benign Positional Vertigo. It takes time to get to a full 100% He even suffers from Vertigo. There is this one test where they would have put cold water in one ear and hot water in the other and my reaction would have told him the severity, but he felt that test was not necessary with the answers I gave him. Sooooo anyhoo, I have to turn my head to the right while laying in bed and wait till the dizziness stops and if I only have to do that once or twice, I am getting better, but if I have to do that ten times and am still dizzy, he wants to see me back. So far for the past few days, I have had no dizziness so I am happy.

As for the cruise, he said just to do whatever I need to do if I get seasick since that is a different situation. He could not answer if I was going to have any problems on any rides while in WDW. That is my biggest worry that some of them may affect me and that would be the biggest bummer ever.

Terry - I hope this is a beginning to the end of your vertigo! Having a doctor who can empathize with you will be beneficial, I am sure.

Debbie - I'm sorry the appt didn't go any better. I hope the continued exercises help! I agree with the others, I think you'll do better at WDW even with the crowds. It's a happier event, less people interacting with you, a familiar place, etc should all help.

Elin - I'd love if the living statues came back somewhere! I always loved them.

Terry - I'm glad that your vertigo is getting better at least. I'm sure it's not fun to know that "just wait" is the best course, though.

We've got a gloriously quiet afternoon here right now. The big kids went to Six Flags and the little kids are going to swim with my aunt after they get back from the store. I've got potato salad and meatballs to make, though, so really I should be getting busy. Of course, I've got to figure out HOW to make meatballs first. I think it's been a good 10+ years since I made actual meatballs. Ususally I just brown the meat and mix it in with the sauce...Dad and the kids eat it better that was.

Ooo! Even better...I just found Amy's meatball recipe that I saved at one point. Now I'm set!

Debbie - Have your pity parites! You need them, woman!! I wish that magical 6-week spot was going to be there for you, but I know you will make the bets of what you've got and push on. I cannot imagine you letting it get in the way of your
WDW celebration.

Deb - I got out my last couple of unread Celebrations! magazines last night and saw the MNSSHP photo and story you had submitted. I saw the photo and thought, "Boy does that family look familiar." Talk about being behind on things.... :rotfl:

I had forgot that I submitted it. Which issue was it in. Apparently our subscription ended as I haven't gotten a magazine in ages. I'll have to order a new subscription and the issue that we were in.

It was in the November/December issue. I will try to scan it for you later on tonight!

Good to see you Marci, love the new pic.

Yesterday's doctor visit didn't go the way I would have liked, I asked if it was ever going to stop hurting and he said not until we get it to loosen up, so it looks like we're still in for the long haul.

After having a good morning yesterday, I had a bad afternoon which made last night's wake pretty rough. He was obviously a well loved man, the place was packed and I just couldn't handle it. Richie asked how I was going to handle Disney if crowds bothered me that much, :confused3

Debbie -- it took me 8-10 weeks to break though all of the scar tissue in PT, and another 3 months or so to get acceptable range. I then paid for pilates sessions which made a HUGE difference and really got me back most all of my range. There are still days when it's a little sore when I wake up, but that's just the arthritis. I would insist that insurance reevaluate and pay for more PT sessions. I think you're doing amazingly well for having had the surgery so recently. You are correct about using the arm/shoulder -- if you catch yourself not using it, make a conscious effort to use it more. That will also make a big difference.

Ditto!

Good morning, DDA!

AirTran dropped their fares on some of the flights for December, so I booked one way flights out of DCA (Reagan National Airport) for our 12/22 trip @ $81 plus fees. Came to $275.10 for all three of us.

Now, to get home on the 26th without having to have Kristin rob her bank to pay for the flights! :rotfl:

Why National instead of Richmond this time?
