good morning.. sorry i didnt get back with the results.

well she does have sight in her eye.. we dont know how much but she can at least see.. This is good..

Oh, I'm so glad that the results were positive!

I think you need to arrange some play dates. Remember that they are just friends at this age and the boy/girl thing isn't a big deal to them.
Oh yes it is. She refers to him as her "boyfriend", and they would get teased by kids in school for hanging around together so much. He really is a sweet boy. Last night I was able to get his phone number from another mother, so I'll let Alyssa give him a call and say hi. Maybe we can get together at the pool sometime this week.

I'm glad you had a fun and free weekend!

Good morning. :)

This week starts a musical theater drama camp that both of my kids are going to. It's everyday and then on Friday night they will put on a show for friends and family, 101 Dalmations! They are so excited.

Good morning, DDA! :sunny:

Back to work for me today.

Good morning, DDA!

Today I am going to finish painting the trim in the living room/dining room (if I say it here, I have to do it, right?) This has become the world's longest project for what I'm actually accomplishing. We ordered the carpet, but someone still has to come out and measure before they put the actual order in. Then it will be another 10-14 days after that before they can install it. I still have to find a curved curtain rod and decide what I want on the window. (I need to do that soon, because I'm tired of living in a fish bowl.) Whew! Then we can move all the furniture back in (I'm hoping to get dh to agree to a rearrangement), and I can start again in another room.

Ok...out to do that painting. Hopefully, I'll be back later to report, "All done!"

Beth - I bet it is going to be beautiful once everything is done!

good morning..

I am so glad for this site..

My whole family, other than my 3 year old that is just as excited as I am, thinks I am nuts for being so disney crazed.. I have books, dvds, maps, shirts, I look for stuff every time I go into the store for the trip.. dumped crazy money into the van all so that we could take it to disney..

But when I come here.. I am normal.. hats off to all you :rotfl:

now for some :surfweb:
:lovestruc :goodvibes

Beth, home improvements always take longer than you'd expect. It always costs more and way more of a mess too. The good news is that you'll love it when it's done and it will last for years before you have to deal with it again. I painted the walls in the main area of our house a few years ago and it too forever. I had panic attacks while doing it as it was quite a process, but I still absolutely love the way the walls turned out and they still look freshly painted, even with 3 boys in the house (great technique for hiding imprefections ;)) You go girl and get it done.

smom1976 I know what you mean about dumping money into your van. That is my next project. There are 7 of us driving to WDW from VT in our van. Now I'm figuring out how we are going to fit everything. We have a roof rack that we are borrowing, but the friend can't find the key which means that I either need to hire a locksmith or go a different route. We also have a hitch rack for the back, but 2 of my kids need wheelchairs to navigate the parks for any length of time do to foot/ankle issues (I wish I'd had the chairs this weekend :headache:) I'm not sure if the rack will have much room for anything else after the chairs. I'll figure it out eventually. It also needs to go into the shop for a tune up. Thankfully DH is a master tech so the labor is free, but we still need some parts and that is sure to be cha ching.

Beth at least all your doing is painting and new carpet. We are going to add a room on to the house. It probably wont be till after the first of the year when I get our taxs done though. We need the room so the kids will have room to play.

well I priced renting a van .. good grief the cost was half of what I paid to fix it.. and we needed a new AC.. so that was going to have to be spent even if we rented a van.. we live in FL.. it is ~HOT~ soo ... the van is working great now. and the AC is nice and cold.

have you thought about the cost of renting wheel chairs vs the hassle to bring them.. maybe price out the cost for a week rental and it might be worth the cost. :confused3

I never had to go through that at that age. My daughter just went from "I don't even like boys" to going to the prom "as friends" to having a boyfriend in the last month and a half. Matthew didn't really have a girlfriend until he was a junior in high school (and he's still with her). Miles is showing little interest in girls other than as friends, though plenty of the girls are showing an interest in the boys.

Beth - I bet it is going to be beautiful once everything is done!

Thanks for the vote of confidence. I'm not sure beautiful will apply, but it's going to be so much better than what we've been living with. I hope to get to the point that I'm not completely embarrassed to have people come into the house.

I think I forgot to say WELCOME and that I am glad that your little dog is doing well. I'm a mother of three and part-time preschool teacher. My oldest, Matthew, is 19. My dd, Laura, is 16 (turning 17 in August), and my "baby" (yeah, right) is Miles, 11. From your ticker, it looks like we may be going about the same time. (Unbelievably, I don't know exactly how long until we leave! I've actually had my mind on other things.)

Thanks, Deb! You're one of my motivators. You have done a great job and make it look so easy. I can spot every one of my imperfections, both tiny and large, but dh says that's only because I did the work. He is sure that the small imperfections will go completely unnoticed and that the bigger ones don't stand out nearly as much as I think they do.

Beth at least all your doing is painting and new carpet. We are going to add a room on to the house. It probably wont be till after the first of the year when I get our taxs done though. We need the room so the kids will have room to play.

Actually, we have two bathrooms that have to go down to the studs (not that they aren't almost there on their own now). I can't have anyone over, because there is no way that I can let them in the bathrooms as they are. One of these days we're going to end up in the garage instead of the bathtub. :rotfl: I seriously considered attempting them on my own, but I think I may have to call for some estimates. Good luck with your project! I would have loved to have a family room when the kids were younger and would love to finish the basement now that they are older. I don't think I'll get that done in time for the older two, though.

I really need to completely repaint the entire house inside and out. We need a lot of work in the kitchen, too. I think that the wallet may be snapping shut very soon, so I at least hope to get the main bath fixed up and the foyer and hallway repainted and new flooring put in there.

Baseboards are all done! Now I have to go back out and tackle the windows and door frame. Those are the time consuming parts. I feel better that I at least have some of it done, though.

I just looked at the calendar. Today is June 28th, so we leave here in a month. We check into the Beach Club on August 6th. Before that we are using my parents' time share.

That is an exciting celebration! CONGRATULATIONS!

(Want to come up north and do my trim work for me?)

OK...now it's really back to work. I won't let myself come back until it's done.

We already have the rack for the back and the kids chairs cost thousands of dollars  (thankfully insurance covered them). We will be in Orlando until the 6th.

Beth, your DH is correct, no one will notice the imprefections and eventually you will forget them too. I know this from experience ;) I know that there were some on my walls, but I can't point them out now.

Today is a resting day here. It poured this morning so I think we'll wait on going to the pool until tomorrow. I'm catching up on DISing and laundry, but not much else.

Its SO hot out here today in jersey! Absolutely crazy. I went to the dentist (have a cavity :( ), grabbed a smoothie at wawa and now im home relaxing..
I really need to finish packing!

Ok need some input.

we are going to Orlando on august 3rd we are going to kennedy.. but we are traveling august 2nd.. originally we were going to travel all night and get there with no sleep on the third and do kennedy all day.. ok so I am realizing that is foolish.. i mean really foolish..

so we are going to still leave on the 2nd (maybe much earlier) but get a one night hotel now..

what hotel..

we are staying at The Fountains Resort (timeshare) for the remainder of our stay. And we have to pick up our Kennedy tickets that we purchased from the hotel that morning and leave our stuff for check in. Then head off for the day and come back hopefully with our bags in our room already.

sooo

any ideas as to what hotel would be cool for one night? Thinking downtown disney.. but not sure

if anyone has a really neat hotel that they stayed at out in town .. that they would like to recommend feel free.

I am going to also post this in another area too.. :)

Do you want a hotel near the Kennedy Space center or near Disney World?

I am Becky, I am 28 live in PA and am trying to move back to FL. I work for the Girl Scouts and spend way too much driving in my car.

I had today off from work as I needed to take my Birthday day off yet before the end of June.

I hope you are all doing well.
