DDA Chapter 25

So now I'm sitting here playing the "great baby name search" game. My poor husband might just lose his mind if I don't have some name ideas soon. You'd think she was coming tomorrow as antsy about it as he is. Of course, we knew at 15 weeks that Terra was a girl and I already had a middle name I liked then. He took about 2 days to come up with her first name so by 17 weeks she had a name. Now we're at 25 weeks and, once again, he came up with the middle name in about 2 days. Now I'm in the hot spot to come up with the first name. I think that I may finally have some possibilities at least! We'll see what he thinks of them when he gets home tonight.

Oh yeah! On Thursday or Friday we're going to see Beauty and the Beast at the Muny theater in Forest Park. It will be starring (okay, well, maybe not starring) our very own DDA-niece Ellie! Hopefully we'll be able to work it out that I'll get a chance to meet up with Paula before or after the show for a little bit.

Oh yeah! On Thursday or Friday we're going to see Beauty and the Beast at the Muny theater in Forest Park. It will be starring (okay, well, maybe not starring) our very own DDA-niece Ellie! Hopefully we'll be able to work it out that I'll get a chance to meet up with Paula before or after the show for a little bit.

The lightning bug posts made me laugh! We had just talked about how many there seemed to be this year and we too reminisced about our childhood nights catching them. I always put grass in the jar so they would have something to eat and, of course, let mine go the next morning. Bob and his brothers squished them on the sidewalk to see the streaks of glowing light.

We also filled the bottom with grass and let them go the next morning. We kept them overnight so that we could see them up close in the daylight.

I have a question about my running geese post from yesterday... Were you all able to click on the pictures to see the videos or were they just three still photos? I noticed this morning that Photobucket had posted them oddly and I wasn't certain the pictures were clickable or that the links worked!

I saw the videos and loved them!

So, Tia, are you guys telling the name? If so, I'd love to hear the middle name that Phil picked out. I love discussing names.

Timothy was the only child who was named before he was born. All the rest I had to see before I would decide on a name. For some reason, though, we just knew that Timothy was the right name for this last baby.

My first choice for Katie was Devyn Elizabeth. Alan liked Alyson Shae.

Jacob was going to be Connor David.

It's funny looking back at them, there's no way that any of those names would fit my kids, but the names they have are perfect for them.

We looked for names that weren't in either of our families. That was the only criteria that I had. I didn't want anyone thinking that my children were named after someone. That rules out a lot of names considering my dad was one of 13 children and my mom was one of 9. Chuck's dad was only one of 3 and his mother was an only child. Funny then that it was his family that took my favorite names!

My favorite name was Nicholas. It would have been my name had I been a boy which I had forgotten at the time. However, Chuck's brother had a son born before we got married and they named him Nicholas so that was out.

We settled on Eric John if Katrina had been a boy. John is Chuck's middle name and Chuck & I both liked Eric.

By the time we were expecting Becky, Chuck's sister had a boy and they named him Erick. They didn't know that we had picked it for Katrina because we didn't want anyone to know if our second was a boy. So we started working on names. We finally decided on either Charles John Jr. or Zachary Ray. We weren't real keen on either but it was the best we could come up with. We decided to wait until the baby was born to decide if it turned out to be a boy. Chuck didn't want a Jr. really. Ray was my dad's middle name.

So it all worked out in the end! No Katrina's and no Rebecca's in either family.

The last 2 page spread is a little uneven but Terra insisted that she wanted it that way. I intended to match the layouts and had both in to ask Phil which he liked better. Terra just really wanted me to leave it as is.
