DDA Chapter 25

My mom, sister, nephew & niece have left. It was a nice time but I'm glad to have my place back to myself.

We went to my 2nd cousin's high school graduation party yesterday. All of my mom's remaining siblings (3 sisters & a brother) were all there so we got pictures of the 5 of them. That was really nice. Several of my cousins and their kids were there.

This morning we had breakfast with my favorite cousin's son. It was very nice. He is the one that lives just a couple of miles from me. He is an awesome young man.

Today was a good day. The electricity is fixed at least temporarily. He is coming back to reroute some outlets and add a few more. I want to completely eliminate any future problems.

The party was a huge success. Turnout was so so, but the kids had fun, the adults had nice conversation and they were all gone in about 2 hours. We cleaned up and had the rest of the night to ...dare I say it...RELAX :lmao: We actually played lawn bean bag toss and washer toss. We didn't come in until after 8 PM.

Tomorrow is Hunter's Awards Ceremony at 8:20 and Nick's graduation at 2 PM. There is a class grad party at one of the girls houses at 5:30 too. Nothing too stressful for me.

For Father's Day Kristin and I left Bob alone! :rotfl2: I kid you not! He wanted to sleep the day away and not have to "do" anything, so we left!

We drove to the Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens in Richmond. We wandered the gardens a bit and ate in their Tea Room.

But the funniest thing we saw all day was the geese making a beeline for the lake! Three short videos should give you a small idea of how funny this was.

Terry and Stephanie - Yeah for your reservations! Sorry you couldn't get brunch yet. :(

Vicki and Deb - Sounds like nice days for you both! Glad you enjoyed some time with family.

We just had a low key day yesterday. Dad is gone so it was just the younger dad's. Chris slept (first shift as a police officer was the overnight the night before), Brendan had lunch with his family and then went geocaching with his brother, and Phil hung out in his room away from the chaos where he is happiest. I think they all enjoyed their day in their own ways. The kids and my sisters all went swimming. It was just too nasty out for me so I didn't swim and only went out from time to time. I did decide last minute to make a photo album for Phil, though, so I was working on that.

Elin - Sounds like the dads around here. Each had something they wanted that didn't involve the wife or kids. Worked for us. It was an easy day.

Hunter received High Honors again this quarter. He is now a 7th Grader.

Colby did well on the speectrum that they call a report card :rotfl:

Nick has graduated :sad1: He is now a Freshman in High School. The Graduation was very nice and lasted about an hour. The families are all getting together at 5:30 for one last barbeque. Hopefully the next couple of days will be very quiet. Tomorrow night I'm going to calling hours for a previous classmate of Nick's Dad. He passed away of cancer. Then I'm bartending. Wednesday I just have bartending, Thursday I'm waitressing and Friday evening we are heading to the Nascar race for the weekend. The big event will be Hunter's MRI on Thursday morning. We are praying that they see nothing but healthy brain cells and then we have a year before the next one.

Congrats to them all! Hope the rest of the week goes well, especially Hunter's appt.

So I let time get away from me and now my free 8x8 photo book coupon expires today. I'm trying to get a book made for Terra before that happens. I went through all sorts of Disney pictures and ended up with 186 to start. Um, yeah, that does not make a 20 page book. Now I'm just working my way through trying to pare it down and cash in on the good deal. It's tough when she's just so darn cute! :thumbsup2

Hope everyone had a good weekend. Stephanie and I are so happy we got the things for our cruise we wanted. Now I can just see me in line to get Palo Brunch and her in line to get the new Dooney & Bourke DCL purses!!! We are hoping they might open the store once we set sail. Otherwise, we will be in line early Sunday morning:lmao::lmao: I will run and get in line and she will go get us some coffee from the Cove Cafe. :thumbsup2

This morning very early, I went to Howie's so his DW could take their youngest son in for adenoid surgery. They were very big and very infected. Poor Noah,,,,his face was all swollen around the lips and his eyes:hug: when she brought him home. Hopefully he will not get sick as much.

Her c-section is scheduled July 22 and I cannot wait to see Pierson in person. :goodvibes

I am hoping to be able to see Toy Story 3 while we are on the ship. Maybe Alice as well :goodvibes

Thanks for sharing. That was very sweet.

I have a good friend from college who just welcomed her newest grandson... Pierson!

Sounds like you and Stephanie are getting all geared up for your cruise!

There's a lightning bug outside my sliding glass door. I remember being on my Grandpa Hall's house and catching them in jars (with holes in the lid of course) with my cousins. It was so neat to catch them and look at them up close.

Terry and Stephanie I am glad your excursion booking process went relatively smoothly. I had a bunch of issues and kept getting errors, went from 89 days till the cruise then back to 91 days, we cannot find your reservation, this conflicts with another reservation, please wait 20 minutes and try again, etc. I understand that special cruises like this typically have more people as repeat cruisers and then booking online but the system was still frustrating.

I know there was talk about doing something around July 10 or 11th. Is something happening if so where Baltimore, DC, VA, etc??

We're home and we're done will all the school activities for the year :cool1: I cannot tell you how happy I am. Of course I've got a horrible sore throat, probably from the camping trip in the rain :confused3 Oh well, I'm sure it will be gone before our trip in 23 days :goodvibes:goodvibes Tomorrow we are hoping to sleep in, well all but Chris who has to work in the morning. I'm hoping to do some packing prep tomorrow.

OMG. I just commented to Chris that there were lightning bugs out and I hadn't seen them in a long time :rotfl::rotfl: It really is a small world.
