OMG when he showed me how easy it was to start the darn thing up, I felt like an idiot. I knew I had bought a really good machine, my goodness the darn thing is self-propelled. All you do is press the lever and the machine just moves. We had my driveway done in an hour. :cool1::cool1::cool1:

that is a good machine!!

We are getting hit pretty hard. This is a different snow; heavy and wet. Updates of what we are having are below.

That looks like one of our normal winter storms. We have had very few of them this year. Such a strange winter all around! You guys getting unusually high levels and us getting unusually low levels.

Good evening all! I hope everyone is staying warm. I've seen posts from one friend in Potoma Falls, VA that they are without power. Hope it's short lived and everyone else stays with power.

We had a great time at our volunteer activity today. We were at the MS Society helping prep mailings and other things for their MS Walk and MS Bike. The adults put labels on the envelopes and get them ready for presort mail. Then we sorted flyers for the walks and folded champions bandanas for the walk. The kids got to color and decorate! They decorated "thank you" posters for walkers in the Challenge Walk (50 miles in 3 days). Each paper has a walkers name on it and the kids decorated them. The pages will be displayed at the overnight location after the 2nd day of walking. They fed us pizza for lunch, talked about the society, had a volunteer with MS speak about the services offered by the society and had several staff there to help, talk and answer questions. It was all run so smoothly and there were about 35 Disney volunteers there to help.

I'm glad that you had fun :cool1:

I hope that all of you in the storm zone are warm and safe tonight. That is a lot of snow for your areas. We usually get several of those storms each winter. I think we've only had one this year :confused3

Good morning, DDA!

Transformers were exploding all through our neighborhood last night and many of our friends are without power. We are lucky so far.

But the 9-degree temps we have right now are going to make digging out a hard task today. We are planning to do it in lots of little bites instead of all at once. However, even when we get dug out, there is the fact that our road has not been plowd yet and there is a tree across our road. So I think we may be in here a while.

Oh, yeah... there is another snow storm headed our way on Tuesday night! I may kill the groundhog next time I go home to visit.

good morning all!
Well the main roads are good here, but the side roads, including my road, are HORRIBLE..im hoping I dont have to go anywhere today. Our driveway is done--my got a snowblower the last big storm so that made it a lot easier

on th bright side--its superbowl day!

Things are a mess here... I have no idea when and if we'll get plowed out. We have never been in the past. Eric managed to dig us out yesterday but if our roads aren't cleared it makes no difference. Our friends with 4WD are getting stuck.

I am supposed to start work tomorrow, not sure how that'll go.

Stay safe and warm!!

Good morning :)

Hope everyone enjoys Superbowl Sunday!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Off to work I go.

Stephanie glad you got your driveway done quickly.

Hopefully all that got snow will be able to get out soon.

I can't believe all the snow you guys are getting and we're having unusually warm temps! Stay safe & warm!

Good morning, DDA! Sounds like a lot of you are stuck where you are for a little while at least. Good luck with the digging out and may all of your power remain flowing!

I almost messed up big time last night and dashed out of bed at 11:15 remembering that I hadn't bought our "on hold" plane tickets yet. Then one of Phil's holds had been cancelled. Yikes! I think it was my fault, but either way I was able to get the same price anyway. So, we're all set there! Now I just need our tax money so I can book the hotel and car.

I think we're going to stay at a hotel very close to the Orange County airport. That way, Phil can just take the free shuttle to the hotel when he gets in and Terra and I won't have to leave DL to pick him up. Plus, this one hotel has a free made-to-order breakfast and a good rate!

Otherwise, I think we're set. Terra really really wants to park hop, so I think I'm going to upgrade after all. Mostly, since it's her birthday, but she also worked really hard at our give a day thing and is asking her birthday party guests to bring things from the Ronald McDonald House wish list instead of gifts. She also decided on brunch at Goofy's Kitchen for her birthday meal. She's so excited! (Me too!!!)

Oh, AND I got a message from my college roommate who is in San Diego now. They are going to drive up on Sunday to see us! I haven't seen her since we had dinner when Phil and I were in OK for our family wedding ceremony, so over 7 years ago. It just gets better and better!

Well, I'm out and about. Couldn't get too far though. Didn't make it to the City for church. I don't have a 4wd and the roads to the City were still snow covered. I'll give Penn Dot a chance to finish clearing the roads without me being in their way. :goodvibes

Stopped and got another fillup of gas for the snowblower, as we are expecting more snow on Tuesday. It is 24 degrees outside, so the thought of this stuff melting is moot. :)

I'm about as ready for the Superbowl as I'm going to get. I have Glynis' pot roast in the crock pot. :cool1:

Tia I'm so glad to see your trip coming together. I sat with my grandson this morning and we looked at attractions he wanted to do. Our trip is in 3 weeks!:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

That might be the one that is hitting us now....but we are getting nearly nothing. Hope it peters further so you get nothing. Please stay safe.

We got the driveway shoveled and our neighbor came and used his snowblower on the area where the plow (yes! I did say PLOW) came through and piled all the icy stuff. The tree that came down yesterday is still partly blocking the street in front of our house, but Bob was able to drive to Rite-Aid for Nyquil (for me) and beer (for him). He says there is a tree blocking half of the main road that ours intersects. No wonder our county schools are closed for Monday and Tuesday.

Wow, sounds like many of you will be snowed in for days  I hope that you all have power because that always makes things much worse.

Any word from Tammi?

We've been dug out since yesterday afternoon and the roads were clear right here as well since then. We had about 18-20 inches. I have lots of friends who have no power and still have not seen a plow that are nearby. I happen to live on the same street as the township building where they store the trucks, so they need to drive through here to get other places.:goodvibes

They are calling for another storm here Tuesday into Wednesday which could produce the same amount of snow.:confused3 But they are not really sure yet.

I hope you all stay warm and safe.
