DDA Chapter 24

I'm glad that Princess is ok. I have had hives off and on for the last few days. I started taking Claritin again, and they seem to be a bit better. Mine get huge and really itchy.

The substitute school nurse called to say that Miles has an earache but no fever, so she sent him back to class. She wanted me to know in case it gets worse. I was thinking about running some Tylenol up to him, but he has less than an hour until he comes home.

I finished the veggies platters, and I think they look cute. I bought a couple of cheap heart shaped trays to do them on. I hope it's enough. I have no idea how many they are expecting or how much the other woman bought. Or even what else they are serving. Of course, there probably won't be a huge run on veggies, and it will be fine.

She is just now starting to look and act like she isn't feeling well, and it is time for nap anyway. 2 of her little friends are having parties tomorrow. I am afraid she may not be attending those.

Those hives were freaky. Now that I know what they are, it's fine. Never had a kid with hives before.

Beth, I am sure your veggie tray is fine. :thumbsup2 If they run out, they run out.

pixiedust: that Princess is better soon!

Thanks for the reassurance, Elizabeth. Dh said basically the same thing. He also said that it didn't matter how cute they were, the cupcakes will win out every time. I don't know if they are having sweets or not. They didn't do this when Laura was in elementary school, so I've never had any experience with one.

An hour and 20 minute wait for Katie's neurology appointment!!:sad2:

She's doing good on her migraine meds so he is keeping her on that for another 3 months. Thank goodness!

We are supposed to get 6-12 inches of snow here & I had to go to the supermarket to get Katie's perscription refilled. The place was a madhouse..I had done my "snow" shopping already but I got some more bread, ice cream for the kids, & beer for Dana. If we are snowed in for the weekend we will NEED the ice cream & beer!

We just got home from Hunter's neurology appt. He is doing well. We will start weaning him from his keppra. There is a 1 in 10 chance that he could have a seizure without meds. We need to keep a close eye on him, he shouldn't be in water alone (including bath), avoid high places like ladders, roof etc. No driving motorized vehicles including snowmobiles and atvs. No alcohol, drugs or smoking:rotfl: He can now do most things in PE class and can start swimming again (supervised). They are recommending contacts instead of glasses as the incision is irrated over his ear from the glasses. That means a doctors appt next Thursday.

In other news...Colby is getting increasingly worse behavorial reports at school. He is not at all disrespectful, but interrupts the class, doesn't pay attention etc. I've scheduled him for an ADD appt, but can't get him in until March.

Hi ya'all.

This is Cassidy, dd :) Mom was out today and slipt and fell. She is at the hospital getting splinted and checked out. So far we know she broke three bones in her ankle. We'd love for her to be in you're prayers.

Thanks :)

Deb,
Glad Hunter is doing well..good luck with him coming off the meds.

:wizard: for Colby. March is a long time to wait. Hang in there!:grouphug:

Cassidy,

Ditto!

ADHD testing is a lengthy process. The district has "X" amount of time to complete each step. And the time resets after each component. They have X days to test after the parent requests it, X days to compile results, and X days to meet back with the parents.

If school is the only place they are seeing the behavior then it isn't likely to be ADHD. The symptoms have to span multiple areas, over multiple months, and be observed by multiple people. The teacher told us if DS didn't have ADD the meds would not make a difference. The neuropsych told us the meds will improve focus in 80% of the population, ADD or not. It's a tricky path to navigate.

Oh, Cassidy!!! I'm so sorry! I wish I could jet over to Littleton to take care of her. I know that you and Abi will take care of her, and that makes me feel better. Please give her my love and tell her that she (and all of you) are in my prayers!

Oh No. She is in our prayers. :wizard: Hopefully a cast will do the job.

We are going through the hospital, not the school system. I've definitely wondered for a long time and have mentioned it to his teacher, the school nurse, the speech teacher, etc. They don't think that's it, but I'm at the point where I want answers so it is a good place to start. We have a packet to complete before his appointment and there is another for his teacher. He's always had a very short attention span which certainly frustrates me.

Cassidy, please give your mom a big hug from me. She will definitely be in my prayers. Thanks for letting us know and please keep us posted.

Deb - I'm glad Hunter had such a good check-up. Hopefully you will get some answers regarding Colby.

We are supposed to get that snow too, Anne Marie, but I think our forecast is 2-6 inches. I'm ready for summer!

I just did our taxes.
This "Making Work Pay" credit thing has to be the most confusing thing EVER. I ran our stuff through Turbo Tax so we will hope it is right. Our refund is almost the same as it was last year, even though our income was higher. Not sure what that "Making Work Pay" deal is supposed to do, or if it helped us or not. :confused3

I Googled it and read the results but I still don't really get it.

Oh no Theresa I hope you get well fast. Cassidy thanks for posting.

Its Cassidy again :) Mom's home and splinted up, but in pain. She can't get in for surgery until Monday. Thank you for your prayers
