DDA Chapter 24

Beth :wizard: that the water doesn't make it all the way through. We had a few days where it got out of the teens, so all the frozen is gone now.

Morning, everyone. I'm just waiting to wake the kids up for school to see how things are going. I didn't hear from Leslie during the night, so I really think that she's fine to go to school. She's 24 hours fever free, so hooray for that. I did hear Timothy coughing all night long. Poor little guy. However, it didn't wake him up, so that's good.

I've got so many errands to run today! I can't stand it! I just want to stay home, but oh well! First on my list is to get to the thrift store to look for stuff for Katie's costume for the play. She is a friend of Hades, so the director wants her in shades of red/black/gray. Seriously, that's all the information he gave us. Grrr. Well, I hope he likes what we find, because the play opens Friday night.

Next, I have to run to the fabric store to get some flowery material to make sundresses for Leslie and Mary for their costumes. Luckily, the pattern is pretty simple, so I shouldn't run into any problems.

Finally, it's a trip to the grocery store for dinner supplies for the week. Then, hopefully, I can be home for the rest of the day!

Theresa - Good luck with your interview, and I hope that you feel 100 percent today! You are always in my prayers!

Here's hoping that the rain and wind have not done any major damage to anyone! Crossing my fingers for y'all!

yep...I am a little conflicted lately. The kids are moving in a direction now that doesn't necessarily fit with a disney trip. They are wanting to do the Nat'l Parks, and some Int'l travel etc.....so do I rent points...sell points...leave it as is....who knows :confused3 Plus with the changes lately with point structures...and doing away with some of the perks...I just don't have the same feelings as I did. Eh, maybe it will pass

Which is why I have always been able to rent points from friends about our age. The bloom goes off for a while and the kids and parents want to other things. But I do know, for some of them, the desire to return to WDW comes back and they are glad they have held onto their points.

Durn kids! always wantin sumptin. ;)

Isn't that the truth! I just fed him dinner last night, too. ;)

I hope that everyone is feeling better! Good luck with all the errands. I need to go out today, too, and I definitely feel like staying in.

Theresa, I hope that you are feeling all better, too! My fingers are crossed for your interview, and you are in my prayers.

Our snow is almost completely gone now, and there are huge puddles in my backyard. The good news is that my basement is dry so far! :wizard: that it stays that way.

John seems to have gotten a head cold and my throat has been sore all day.

My dh has quite a head cold, too. It started the day after he went for the H1N1 flu mist, but I think that is just coincidence. My allergies are acting up, and I don't know why.

Miles threw up once last week. He was perfectly fine before and after, so I have no idea what that was all about. Unfortunately, he did it at the school concert (but before it started), so he had to miss school on Thursday even though he was good all day. He wasn't nervous or anything.

I'd love to stick around, but today is the day that I promised myself I'd start exercising again. I can't mess up the first day.

Have a great day, DDA!

I just noticed my post count is 7878, so I guess it's good time to leave for a little bit.

There are still little piles of snow around, and my back yard is a swimming hole. :headache:

just wondering if any body sees my posts.

I have asked a few questions and nobody has responded on here.

So, mopping and fighting with a ShopVac and cursing up a storm is kind of like exercise, right? I decided to put some laundry in about 10 minutes after I started exercising, and landed in a giant puddle down there. It's coming in faster than I can take it out. I need to get back down there. Ugh!

I see this one, but I haven't been around much the past few days and haven't had a chance to read back yet. Sorry!

I saw your post, Jennifer, but unfortunately I didn't have any other ideas regarding suggestions to add fun to your trip, so I didn't respond. Seems like you have a good list!

thanks Tammi,
I was not sure if it was good or not. I was going to make it like a scavenger hunt.

Somebody on the boards posted a cute AK scavenger hunt thing, I have also seen the Tom Sawyer scavenger hunt as well.

I need ideas for HS

someone posted one for All Star Movies which is where I think we will end up staying instead of a DVC resort. Planing to do that one the morning of the MVMCP.

Thanks for all the good wishes....the bug hit the girls (espescially Abi...a rehit for Cassidy) last night....so I have had 4 hours of sleep. I woke Jim up (he stayed home today because he got the bug yesterday...and made sure I knew he was sick ALL night making noise Saturday:rolleyes:) and said he gets to parent today, even if he was sick....love how he thinks that a)he's the only one who gets sick and b)every time he is sick there is no way he can be a parent (although why it should be different than any other day I am not sure:rolleyes:)

Pantyhose is stupidly expensive!! $5 a pair on sale makes me :scared1:

Jennifer-I saw your post/question but I couldn't even finish reading it......too many other things going on!! sorry

Thank you DVC owners, we are not looking to add on right now, just getting the feel of what everyone has. Our 100 points suits us well as John can really only get 1 week vacation per year.

We were talking about the Tree Houses, because I have wanted to stay at one ever since first seeing them back in 2000. Unfourtantly John says we would have to save up the points to stay there and then there is the problem that we would not likely get one at 7 months.

We have 200 points at SSR. That works well for us as we don't go every year so we are able to bank points. We do other travels on our off years. This seems to keep us all happy. We own at SSR and couldn't get a THV at our 11 month window, but it did come through shortly after the 7 month window. I've read that a lot of people waitlist and it comes through at 7 months. There is speculation that they hold some back for the 7 month window.

I saw it, but couldn't get on at all last night to respond. A few year ago we bought the kids guide here
http://www.guidetothemagic.com/
We love the guide and it came with a supplement with various scavenger hunts at the various parks. That may be what you're looking for.

:wizard:for the ailing
:cool1:For the science fair projects

My plans for the day were to get up early and pound some pavement, handing out donation request letters, followed by grocery shopping. I needed to be home by 3 to get the boys, get them to my parent's house and be at work by 4. Unfortunately it rained and school was cancelled due to ice. We all slept in (not Chris of course ). My Dad said to bring the boys over early so I'll bring them over shortly and have a bit of time to hand out letters before work. I'm actually hoping for a slow night tonight as I need to print new menues and it won't happen if it is busy. I've been working on this for 3 weeks and want it done.

In addition to the 8th grade projects I've also been asked to take over running the lacrosse program for the 3rd through 8th grade boys and girls. I had said last year that I would, but hadn't heard anything. The current coordinator called on Sunday and she is ready to step down, I'm meeting her on Wednesday to take over. It's a good thing that I do well with busy :lmao: Chris and I were just talking about how we are usually fighting the winter blues this time of year, but this year we are both super happy with all aspects of our life. The kids seem so happy too :goodvibes Maybe it was the ordeal that we went through, but I'm certainly not complaining.
