Am I the only one who can't see them? It says I have to sign on.

I'm going to try to do that, Marci. Unfortunately, the dr.'s office closes at 4:00 so he can go to all his kids school functions, so it will be a tight squeeze. Katie's going to call me after her first class to let me know how her throat feels. I gave her an Advil and a Sudafed this morning before she left. Crossing my fingers!

Hope she's feeling better.

I'm trying (rather unsuccessfully at the moment) to talk dh into a Disney trip this summer. Of course, it may be a moot point anyway. Laura was thinking of taking Health and Driver's Ed in summer school. That would run from 7/5-8/13. Cross country practice will begin 8/16 and go until school starts. Assuming she decides not to go to summer school, are the first two weeks of August a lot worse crowd-wise than the last two?

I didn't think the first 2 weeks of August were bad. In fact I think the last week of August is busier with the free dining crowds.

Our trip was awesome, despite the cold. And let me tell you, it was COLD! Cold, and WINDY. We were pretty much dressed for it though. Lots of layers, hats and gloves. Orlando broke a record, set back in 1907. The worst day was Saturday, our Epcot day. It was raining in the morning, plus bitter cold. So we decided to sleep in and head into the park later, after the rain stopped. Everything was a walk on, except for Soarin', which we FPd. We had a linner ADR in Italy, so we took the boat over. Afterwards, walking back to FW around the lake, with the wind blowing, it was FRIGID! We had FPs for TT but the kids wanted to go back to AKLV and do the activities there, so we found a family with 2 little kids entering the park and handed off our FPs. They were thrilled. I love doing that. :

The nicest day, weather wise, was our AK day. It was really cold in the morning, though, on the Sunrise Safari. But they gave us heavy blankets to use, so that helped a lot! By afternoon, with the sun shining, it was warmer. Not warm. Just warmER.

I fell in love with concierge. Too bad more of the DVC resorts don't offer this, unless you are paying cash.

I haven't decided if this trip requires a do-over or not. Yes, the weather was miserable, but with all the extras we got, it's hard to say it was a 'bad' trip.

After being there in the sweltering heat and the bitter cold, I would take the heat any day.

How was the sunrise safari in the cold? Any animals out?

I enjoyed your photopass photos. Cool that they take pictures of the entire parade (but I could have done a better job ).

Did you really have to be at the Club Lounge at 6:30 for the Sunrise Safari? I think we three ladies are going to try to book it, but I fear at least one of them is not going to be a very happy woman if it is really 6:30.

In May I had to check in before 7am. We all (Terry, Halley, Joe & I) were there but I don't know if we all had to go to the lounge. We wanted to eat a little something before going out. Then we met in the lobby at 7:30.

Neither Colby or Nick need glasses They both have better than 20/20 vision. My guess is that the Pediatricians equipment needs to be recalibrated The boys are happy, but they still can't see anything since they are still really dilated. Colby also got the H1N1 and Seasonal Flu boosters so he was not happy about that.

Yay for no glasses. Poor Colby!

I just found out that Science Fair is not required for 2nd grade this year!

YAY!!! All this science fair talk--Im so happy I never had to do a science fair--i think i would have hated it!!

Here's a slightly odd topic that I think a few of you could help us with. Laura's chemistry class is doing some game. They need to pick who they think will be in the Super Bowl from the top eight teams. Since none of us can even name the top eight teams, we're kind of clueless.

So, who do you think will most likely be in the Super Bowl?

Anne Marie - good luck with your anniversary plans. LA sounds fun, however, would you be able to go a year without going to WDW? Especially being so close?

The 2010-11 school year calendar is out. Same exact calendar as this year. Apparently they are NEVER going to cut Thanksgiving week down to 3 days so we can get the year finished by Memorial Day. Boneheads. Fair Day is Jody's birthday. October is nice. I wonder if we can manage a June and an October trip? Of course I swore off short trips, but maybe... I will watch airfare and ponder the situation. Oh, wait. We won't have park passes. Never mind!

Anne Marie, your CA trip sounds fun. But I agree, it is better to get 2 trips on your APs. We got something like 14 admissions last Aug, 3 in Dec, and we'll get 14 or so in June. Definitely worth it! We'll just buy new ones in 2011.

Apr 2010 - 5 days

So I guess that's good but 12-14 more in July would make it even more worth it......

I am so afraid to book anything because DH has a managers meeting "sometime in the summer" ..that's what messed up our plans last year. ugh.

I know YOU could have, but I couldn't!

It was cold, but with the heavy blankets wrapped around our legs, and under our butts (the safari seats were like sitting on ice cubes), it wasn't terribly bad. Lots of animals were out....the wildebeasts were playing, the lion was pacing (we even heard a roar), got some great photos of the giraffe right next to our jeep, lots of cattle and tommies. The only thing we didn't see were elephants, because there was a medical procedure going on (so they say) and because of the cold. Which was a disappointment, because they are my favorite.

I just started my color coded matrix of fun and I am amazed by the limited hours in July. HS closing some nights at 7 and only have Fantasmic 3 nights. One day there isn't even a parade there I'm used to extended summer hours. Maybe things will change before then. Otherwise I'm not sure how they will fit the summer crowds into 3 Fantasmics in 7 days and only one show per night

Evidently, when you are in the parade and unable to watch it, they photograph the entire parade for you on a photopass. There are some great shots of characters and floats on there.

That's 3 weeks' worth of days!

Wonder if I can fit another trip in before I have to renew on October 1?
