If any of you want to see my photopass pictures, they have been added to Bernadette's acct. The parade pictures are in there. Evidently, when you are in the parade and unable to watch it, they photograph the entire parade for you on a photopass. There are some great shots of characters and floats on there.

I finally selected a hotel for our last 3 nights in Orlando. We will be staying at Quality Suites the Royal Parc suites. I was able to get a 2 bedroom suite with free breakfast, free internet and free shuttle to SeaWorld for $98 per night. I think it will be nice to spread out and I don't want to borrow DVC points from next year. I think this will work nicely for us.

Great price!:dance3:

I'm trying (rather unsuccessfully at the moment) to talk dh into a Disney trip this summer. Of course, it may be a moot point anyway. Laura was thinking of taking Health and Driver's Ed in summer school. That would run from 7/5-8/13. Cross country practice will begin 8/16 and go until school starts. Assuming she decides not to go to summer school, are the first two weeks of August a lot worse crowd-wise than the last two?

The last 2 weeks of August is ideal as far as summer crowds. It is definately less crowded than the 1st two weeks & if you can go then that would be the best choice of all the summer. My kids go back to school earlier than in NY now so we have to go in early August however it's not bad if you plan.:thumbsup2

Hi Tammi!:)

Sounds like a fun trip even with the cold. How cool they take your pictures when you are in the parade! I agree, summer in the heat is way better than the cold....

Thanks! We really like the last two weeks of August, but we can't do it with cross country practice. I know that it would not be good for her to miss two weeks of practice. I was hoping that the first two weeks wouldn't be too terribly bad, and it sounds like it is definitely better than not going. :thumbsup2

The only reason we switched to June this year was because our APs expire 8/1. Well, that and because we want to go to Gay Days and Star Wars weekends.

Plus if there are orientations or anything like that in August we want to make sure DS can attend. School will start back 8/23.

We often do early August trips because of our DVC use year. I don't think the crowds are bad at all and the weather in Florida is no worse than the weather in Vermont for that time of year. I've been over Thanksgiving and Easter before it is much busier over those time periods than those first 2 weeks in Aug. Plus we'll be in Orlando that first week ;)

The last day of school here will be around June 25th, so June is pretty much out for us. School won't start until the Wednesday after Labor Day, but Fall sports practice begins sooner.

That's good to hear! I'm not worried about the weather at all (except for maybe more tropical storms).

Here's a slightly odd topic that I think a few of you could help us with. Laura's chemistry class is doing some game. They need to pick who they think will be in the Super Bowl from the top eight teams. Since none of us can even name the top eight teams, we're kind of clueless.

So, who do you think will most likely be in the Super Bowl?

Thanks!

So we are trying to think of somewhere fun to go for our 20th anniversary next year. At first we thought Europe but we priced out Paris & London & it's just too much, plus my kids do not want to fly, & it's not cost effective to buy 2 rooms in Europe since they mostly fit 4 or less. Honestly I do not want to deal with the language issue as the only one who speaks french here is Sophie.;) London is cool but we have been several times but not with the kids. Anyway, then we started thinking about going to California & going to San Diego..see the zoo, go to LA & see the movie sights & walk of fame & all that stuff, & of course go to DL & see the sights there.

If we do this then we would not go to Disney in 2011 & therefore no need to renew our AP. So now I am wondering should we just go to Disney in July (our AP runs out 7/29) rather than renew & go in August. I like August better but we'd have to cough up $2500 to renew our passes :scared1: which I cannot see the point of if we are not going to use them the following year.

:confused3

:woohoo::woohoo:I just found out that Science Fair is not required for 2nd grade this year! :woohoo::woohoo:

Chanon - Alex is just too cute! He seems so happy!

Thanks for all the info on US. Do you think if we arrive on Friday morning, and spend Friday and Sat. in the park, we will have enough time to do everything? Or mostly everything?

Anne Marie - good luck with your anniversary plans. LA sounds fun, however, would you be able to go a year without going to WDW? Especially being so close?

Quick! I need to plan a vacation! My signature is naked! :scared1: :(

I'll have Chris chime in when he gets home.

If you go to WDW would you stay onsite or offsite? I found a resort that is priced really well and can sleep up to 10. Free breakfast, free shuttles. Here is the link

Do you want to do both parks and are you staying onsite?

That's awesome! :thumbsup2 More time to decide what you will do next year! ;)

The 2010-11 school year calendar is out. Same exact calendar as this year. Apparently they are NEVER going to cut Thanksgiving week down to 3 days so we can get the year finished by Memorial Day. :headache: Boneheads. Fair Day is Jody's birthday. October is nice. I wonder if we can manage a June and an October trip? Of course I swore off short trips, but maybe...:rolleyes1 I will watch airfare and ponder the situation. Oh, wait. We won't have park passes. Never mind!

Anne Marie, your CA trip sounds fun. But I agree, it is better to get 2 trips on your APs. We got something like 14 admissions last Aug, 3 in Dec, and we'll get 14 or so in June. Definitely worth it! :thumbsup2 We'll just buy new ones in 2011.
